eh, VP rank is much more important, and isn't really "abusable."
Popularity rank was taken down because it encouraged trickery, scams, and tons of profile refreshing for no good reason.
BBS poster rank will never exist (except on format's unofficial top 50 list) because it will encourage spamming to get your rank higher.
Whistle info/rank/point info would be abused because people would start to blow the whistle more irrationally, and same thing with abusive review marking, especially if they're right on the edge of getting a new whistle and just can't WAIT for actual abusive reviews/stolen flash to get their points up.
And yes, having their whistle drop SHOULD be a deterrent, but I'd argue that not knowing how far away from the next whistle is much more of a deterrent for the above reasons.... people will go ahead and screw up their whistle because they're impatient and ignorant about what constitutes good and bad whistle-blowing.
So, in summary: VP ranking... YAY! Whistle ranking/info... boooo.
