The only question is who will be replacing yaya12, who hasn't gained for some time. Myst is gaining at about 200 per update, while you're at circa 700 and Stero at about 800.

Current odds state Shanus > Myst > Sterockicy. These are subject to change, as Myst only needs 13 saves to pass yaya, so if the update were to happen early, we would see Myst reappearing, before either of you youngsters could pass him :P

Yeah. And that brings me back to underdogism. Everyone loves an underdog, but what happens when the underdog becomes the top dog (see: The Red Sox in the 00's... the New England Patriots in the 00's... etc. etc.).

It all depends on what you base your passion on.

If my Houston Astros won 5 World Series in a decade, I'd be just as much a fan as I am now. Not moreso because I ain't a bandwagoner, and certainly not less so, because I'm not a fan of them specifically because they've never won the World Series and I only like them as an underdog (though that did make 2004 and 2005 very fun for me, despite the shitty press coverage or lack thereof)... I love 'em because they're what I grew up with in my home town, of course.

Similarly, I loved saves from the moment I found out about the b/p system on NG, in January 2003, because I liked the IDEA of protecting a movie more than the idea of destroying one.

And even though the save stat being the underdog from 2002 to 2005... 2006? was a cool role for it to play... I still love saves for that first initial reason even now that they aren't the underdog anymore.

Still, I have my fond memories for the past. I can't tell how much of that is for how much free time and how much b/ping I did back then, though... and how much of that nostalgia is for the different b/p ratio in the portal itself back then. I'm sure it's plenty of both.

Well, I've started to catch you up over the past few weeks. I'm trying to keep my pace up on 6 of 7 days, Sundays being my worst day for B/P, because I'm out for about 8 hours slap bang in the middle.

It's always worth a try and I'm going to attempt to close up the gap before getting to the stage of having cricket matches on Saturdays and Sundays, taking up huge swathes of my weekend.

Oh, that. Well yeah, that is what I always mention about this thread, this list in regards to myself. My first. That said, for a large portion of my listmakery career, the top VP list was my main love. And then the pentalist took over when I stopped doing the VP list, I think.
