I'm so sick of it. I try to help - i really do. I have a bite to my advice, no doubt. If i see a piece of shit flash and actually feel compelled to comment, I DO leave tips on how to improve it. The other day i commented on on of the KK's LiveActionSquirrel flashes asking them if they submitted it yesterday - it was as simple as that.

Today i get a portal review deletion notification. I just can't fucking win, can i? I RE-READ the portal review guidelines and i see NOTHING that suggests this review is ABUSIVE. In fact, it's probably one of the best reviews the KK has ever recieved. Mind you, if i spoke my mind on my personal thoughts on that particular flash it would have been deleted in two freakin' seconds. By god himself. To save mankind.

I have countless replies to my reviews thanking me for my advice, even if it is mean. You can't take the harshness? Go fuck yourself. Don't claim my review is abusive. I'm so tired of this bullshit, seriously.

And then i go around and read reviews that tell a person that their flash isn't good, and the person responds with "FUCK U FAGG0T N00B CAKE BLABLA" - and yet nobody can flag the REVIEW as abusive. That's fucked up. How about people who are abusive, who harrass you via messages or constant shit reviews / responses etc - why can't we flag a PERSON as abusive?

THEN we have the KK. What a bunch of assholes. I mean, i don't care at this point if they love or like the fact that i yell about them because at LIVE ACTION SQUIRREL #10 and the countless other atrocities they have submitted and passed i've had enough. Why does Newgrounds let this filth persist? Because they want KK to continue to be here? Because ANYONE likes them?

Listen up, NG - in the many years i have come here there are few like me. Few who keep coming back. Most members are under 3 year vets and most won't last another 3 themselves. People get bored and move on. So how does Newgrounds keep it up? Don't they wish to protect their reputation for hosting quality flash?

When i first started coming here Newgrounds was THE place for flash. There was no other. Newgrounds birthed the damn artform. Everybody who was online (not the whole world back then) knew what Newgrounds was, or at least had a close friend that had yet to introduce them to it. Newgrounds was King. Those were the days - when i logged in every week or so to see if there was a new NG submission.

Today, nobody knows what Newgrounds is. Nobody. I have craploads of animator friends - i live right next to the Kansas City Art Institute - and none of them know what Newgrounds is.

So why isn't newgrounds cool like it used to be? Because people are tired of seeing utter sheit when they look for something to watch on Newgrounds. A random person comes in, sees a couple cool things on the front page, gets all excited and goes to the portal - not knowing what's what and what the hell the pretty colors mean, they click on LIVE ACTION SQUIRREL thinking they're in for some classic cartoon action - but they are wrong and appalled at the utter sheit they see before them.

They leave. They go to YouTube and search for "something cool" and probably even find it, too. They won't come back. They won't tell their friends. And so the amount of newcoming NGers dwindles, eventually the people that are here leave and in five years time Newgrounds is gone. Can't hold its own weight anymore. not enough traffic. Sales. Nothing.

We need toincrease the number of votes it takes to pass a submission - so what if it slows the process? There's a 10mb freakin' file size limit now, why only 200 votes to pass?? These assholes, the KK and everyone else like them perpetuate themselves, boosting their voting power by passing their own submissions and thus increasing their power over - *gasp* their own submissions AND - consequently - others as well. They make crap flashes. They don't care what happens here - they have no care for Newgrounds and would just as soon see a Front Page worthy flash fall to their knees from their bolstered VP.

We need to initiate a system for 'crews' - a buddy system - a club system - whatever. And make it so members of the same club or crew cannot vote on their own crap.

Some way, we need to fix this. I am saddened to see Newgrounds fall to shit like this. The best submissions are typically from companies who are completely self-sufficient now. People don't come here for flash animation - they go to sites like killfrog.com or neurotically yours to see specific things. They don't care about the flow of creative talent anymore, because, in all honesty - it's not here.

Come, my fellow Newgrounders - speak out - let your voices be heard and speak out against these atrocities!!

Reviewing a flash that you think will be or want to be blammed, and not adding advice to him or the ones watching to help in any fashion is abusive and just plan spam. He might have added it to the portal, maybe he changed one thing someone said to change to make it through.

The guy or gal only wanted a flash to make it to this site. Give advice or encouragement or saying nothing at all... very simple.

You misunderstand - i do not wish to remove the artists, just help our standards out a bit by implementing blocks against the methods these crews have been using to shirk the rules and pass flashes seen as crap by the entire community. They should stay. I want to encourage them to make flashes that would have a CHANCE at succeeding in passing through the portal through traditional means. Maybe we just need to increase the limit to a 3 rating? Sad days...

There was this guy who made flashes about Smallsville or whatever that lame superman show is called. And he sent in the same flashes everyday, and got to like 17. They kept passing, cause of mass voting.

Later they got deleted, but I got banned, for being abusive, the last review I did said. "This is the same garbage everytime."

I know where you're coming from, but I don't think raising the amount of votes until an under judgement flash passes will show much of any progress. You'll notice that all of the shit flash pass with just barely more than 1.60 score. If the lowest standard for a passable flash were raised to 1.80 or maybe even 2.00, then you would hardly see any low quality flash passed simply because people think they're free protection points. I vote 0 when I see a lame movie, as do others, which explains why movies like this are barely passing judgement.

I just ignore kitty krew flashes. I ignore any crew flashes. I don't like 'em, so I don't watch 'em. Really quite simple. I don't give a fuck if they pass, cuz I'm STILL not going to see it... Yes, it is annoying; yes, their flashes usually do suck (some ARE good, especially some of the Clock Crews stuff, though not all of their stuff is good either...) but I really don't care. It's not like we're fighting communists in our homelands... We're talking about the internet... newgrounds for that matter. If people STOPPED taking notice to them, they'd get bored and leave the KK.

Normally I'd agree with you, but he brought up a good point in that when new people see this shit in the Portal, they might get turned away from Newgrounds. These new people aren't just potential viewers, but they're also potential big shots, who could submit good quality flash to Newgrounds; but then they see that bad flash passes, and they get turned away, thinking that if Newgrounds houses that filth then it's not quality enough for their good flash (might be a douche way of thinking, but douches can make good flash).

So rather than ignore the Kitty Krew or whatever lame club you seeing submitting shit to the Portal, vote accordingly. I'm sure having all of their flash blammed when submitted would cause them to leave Newgrounds more than people just ignoring them on the BBS.
