rebelions are for hillbilly farmers and revolutions are for french people, lets just send him chain mail until his mailbox is full and hope that causes him to stop stealing our prize money.

scratch that, stealing "my" prize money...

Hmm. That sounds pretty good. :D
Chain mail sounds very good, indeed.

I'm not really in it for the prizes, I just really like participating in Pico Day since I'm supporting the Newgrounds Community.

Yes, a prize thrown in at the end is also nice but still, it's to support this website. :]

I like the fact that tom has big prizes, its a big insentive to do something and definately a big motivator. I guess it might attract people that don't really care about the pico legend, but it also brings people in that don't know, and sort of makes them find out, go looking, and learn about pico. So anyway, im going to try to do a storyboard...i started and it looks alright...and then go about it pretty systematically so that i can produce a good movie. Having a goal to win cash, especially that much cash I think will help me buckle down.

as far as the money goes, i could care less. but, it is nice to have. i certainly have nothing against him giving back to the community he made. probably makes him feel better. i would hate to get rich off of this site and not give anything back.

and as for storyboards, i need to do one for all of mine. This is technically practice for provincial animatyion competitions, and i have to do a story board there. This is good practice. Im about have done my storyboard right now. its about 25 frames long so far.

Sounds pretty good, good luck with the storyboards. I printed some um...templates out with word, so im super professional...or its fun to pretend at least.

And if anyone says they don't care about the money (not just you 23450), unless its because you think you have no chance at all of winning andything, its just not true. Its nice of Tom to "give back" to the community though, like those tablets, that was an amazing amount of money. nice guy

Only noobs use word. Us proffesionals use flash to make our templates. Get with the times, geese.

Definately colored. It suits the background and overall style better.

Yeah, I'd go with the coloured one.

i would go with the darker one actually. i just find it harder to focus on the one with lighter lines, the darker figure is much more defined, easier to look at. not that it need to be black, but darker at least.

I say keep the darker one. It looks better I think, because the color is too tricky. Just my opinion.

Ehh I'm 25 seconds into my video. :[ This may take a while.

The darker lines puts too much contrast between Pico and his surroundings. The color lines bonds the two together, creating an overall more capturing and realistic environment.

Luis 23450 is just trying to sabotage you so he has a better chance of winning!

Go with the color outlines. They fit the background more and make it look a lot better. Sure, the black outlines might make pico stand out more, but so would making him bright pink. He stands out with the colored outlines too.

Response to Pico Day 2007 2007-02-26 08:40:24

I do agree with 23450 though, the outlines need to be a touch darker. Also since when could you post extra large images >:C

Since he became special and an ng GOD.

In other words... A mod.

Reed, i sure hope there isnt any responsible mod wandering around because evading a ban with an alt is a no-no.... sadly i dont feel like bothering with you so im gonna leave that to someone more responsible.

Anyways I'm still torn between the two. I think i'll flip a coin or something. The only thing i dont like about the colored outline is how much more work it is to do it that way :P

Go with the colored. It looks better but even if you don't, the $5000 will still go to you, since every one is too lazy to produce something like what you are.

With the exception of a few

so you give me the prize and take it away. Im hurt Luis, hurt.

i still stick by my origonal statement. Darker is alot easier on the eyes. Hands down. I mean, i AM trying to sabatage Luis, but that will come later. This is plain ol'constructive crit.

For the love of Allah can we please stop discussing the prize... this thread isnt about the contest aspect of it.. its about the Flash production. You've ooh and ahhed about the prizes but seriously lets move on and just get back to swapping feedback and techniques.

luis just do a compromise. Do the OUTLINE dark, but have the outlines inside the character (like folds on the arm and border between head and hair and stuff) be colored. I think that would make everyone happy

Actually im thinking that what im gonna do is do an outline dark but in 1pt pencil stroke. That way itll be dark but not distracting. So in otherwords i pretty much wasted message board space and everyones time because im doing none of the options offered.

I AM SO FUCKING LAME
