yeah check around the audio forum.. they do alot of the searching for you if you poke around the threads... theres a pico theme song contest thread over there.. i found my song from that thread... i agree that the audio portal is such a chore to look through and find something.. hence why not ask the people who are in the audio portal all the time such as the users in the audio forum.

Well, or just sorta change the song you'd want to use a bit, create a new account for the audio portal and submit it over there in some misplaced category, Get it approved and you're safe.. etc etc.
The audio portal is quite the handy place, if you vaguely know what you want, just type it in the search bar, and you will most likely find something that can be applied to ur thing, if not the artist that made that song probably has made a lot of similar ones with the same theme.
Most people just look in there for background music anyway, but if you are making a cartoon which driven by the music, i find it best to find the song in the portal first and tweak ur idea around it. There's always a song oot there.
Well what if we've already done a few scenes with commercial music, and it syncs to the animation? I can't just change it now.
Like, in my CU scene for Pico Day, we used music from Mase, and Parks lip-synchs to one of the lines, and it is pretty much the only thing that would fit something Mase-themed.
We also have a There She Is scene, using music FROM that.

I've never done a flash animation in my life! Been meaning to for awhile, but never got around to it.. however I'd reaaally love to do something for Pico Day. So.. I only need to learn Flash, learn proper animating, come up with a cool storyline and make something awesome within a month and a half. How hard can that be, eh? Eh?!

im doing my first lot of lip syncing now and when im looking at my thing fbf it works perfect then when i press ctrl enter it doesn't sync either the lips or the song starts at a different time i wanted it too.
anyone know whats wrong with it.

Click on the sound in the timeline > Go to the properties panel > Change Event/Start to 'Stream'.

H-W-T, here's something you CAN do, but it will make the file a bit bigger than it was.
Go into the Publish Settings.
Click on the Flash tab.
Click "Set" where it says Audio Stream.
Change from Mp3 to Adpcm
Do the same to the "Set" button beside Audio Event.
This keeps everything in perfect sync, and at very good quality.

I think the arms look fine, but thats up to me. The chibi arms and anime look is what you always go for. It's looking nice though. Is it gonna be following up a dating sim game like last year? :D Most likely not. Hopefully you'll finish it this time eh ;]

i fiddle around some more todays with animating and code... heres another sample: CLICK ... didnt add in a code for when keys are up to stop animation so yes i know it continues to cycle a bit after u let go of the walk keys..... the comands are mouse, left mouse button.. to walk is left and right arrow keys..
please tell me what you think of it.. its just a character test for mouse movements and animations let me know ur thoughts!
Lmfao, since everyone is posting teasers.. Heres mine.
Not too proud bout some parts here, but the overal thing will work out cause its gonna be quite fast paced all around. I know how ill end it now etc and some of the sketching looks better than I expected. Can't wait to get it done. It's gonne be a joyride.
