What gets me with TNA is that Bobby Lashley is of to bellator in September which is 4 weeks away and he still has the TNA world heavyweight championship. Surely he will lose it before he goes?

This is a UK only thing, but if that's TNA gone from Challenge as well as wherever it's broadcast in the states, that'd leave a nice ICW shaped hole in the schedule.

They keep mentioning getting back on TV in their shows, and there's rumours that the reason they haven't uploaded any ICW Worldwides (their online show) lately is because they're working out a deal.

I want this so much.

With TNA out of a TV deal wouldn't ROH be next in line for a TV spot?
I don't live in the USA or anything like that so i don't know if they already have a spot on TV.

No, ROH is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. ROH is consequently a quasi national product now because of that, and there's been announcements that Sinclair is looking at launching a sports channel so ROH would not be an option for replacing TNA on Spike. At present the negotiation is ongoing, but should Spike cancel TNA, I don't see them being eager to get another wrestling product on unless it can do the kind of ratings WWE does to offset the horrible ad rates that networks get for wrestling.

I find TNA to be more interesting than WWE. It would suck if they go off the air.

If anything many of them will just go to WWE or ROH. I would love to see Kurt Angle back in the WWE.

Isn't his age catching up with him already?
And even if he does come back, which i actualy hope he does, he's been away for years, most fans nowadays don't even remember him.

Kurt Angle still has name recognition. The only Olympic champion wrestler and his many championship belts.

As nice as that sounds, I doubt that "many" of them are going to WWE or ROH. ROH is looking to be losing it's PPV provider and WWE is seriously cutting its budget.

This is a really bad time for TNA to go under. Looks like wrestling as a whole is in for a down period.

The situation seems to be quite the reverse in the UK. Obviously the whole industry over here is smaller, but it's in a little bit of a boom right now. A lot of it stems from a few popular comedians backing it, along with the rise of ICW resulting in TV coverage and a documentary about it on the BBC.

It's still far from mainstream, and probably less popular on average than it is in the States, but it's on the way up rather than the way down.

I read that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are going to be at Raw next week for Hogan's birthday. nWo reunion for one night?

Well we were dumb enough to think it was gonna happen.

I wouldn't call it an nWo reunion. I would call it a retirement center birthday party.

Best RAW I've seen in ages.

Best part of the night was the Zeb Colter and Rusev segment. Zeb sure is outstanding at getting the crowd involved and making the SS match extremely anticipated.

Still think they should have left the Slater vs. Rollins match on for the main event. Ambrose ripping the contract in half is hopefully one of those moments in WWE history that will be in magazines and replays forever. I really hope that means that Rollins doesn't have a title shot anymore. "Hey man, remember when Ambrose ripped up the money in the bank contract..."

"WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee."

ADR fired. Not just for cost cutting, too. Sounds like he got into a fight with someone backstage.

Was just about to post about this. Very weird. I'm wondering if more details will come out soon or if both parties are going to try to keep hush-hush about this to protect their best interests. Seems like such a strange way for the man who won the 2011 Royal Rumble to leave the company.

Are we in for Alberto chants to go along with the CM Punk chants?

Christ, I hope not.

So fucking sick of AJ Lee coming out and being one of the best parts of the show, only to be drowned out by people chanting for her husband.

At least it's not throughout the whole show any more.

Apparently he slapped someone with WWE.com. His side of it is the staffer said something of a racist nature to him, but I figure WWE being cognizant of possible assault charges and lawsuits, plus the salary ADR makes, plus all of his reported unhappiness with his run and an expectation he would let his contract run out and go back to Mexico I imagine it didn't take WWE long to decide it was just better to outright release him.

Don't think so. ADR was nowhere near as beloved as Punk was. His run was a real missed opportunity by WWE I feel.

I heard something about his contract was running out and the WWE were reaching for excuses to fire him. He's an upper mid-carder that was a 4-time World Champion and it's hard for me to believe that he would get canned for slapping a .com employee after being racial taunted. There's another layer to this story we're not hearing

Thus week's RAW will be all about Hulk Hogan. It will be nice to see him again.

It'll be like what happened to Sandow when Rhodes stole his briefcase and threw it in the river, he'll simply be handed a new contract and the title shot remains in play.

Hall and Nash will be at RAW tomorrow night, along with Jimmy Hart and I wouldn't be shocked to see appearances by Ted Dibiase SR, Paul Orndorff, Roddy Piper, Gene Okerlund, and others from Hogan's past with WWE.

They only showed Hulk Hogan for maybe 5 minutes at the very end of RAW. They did show some great video clips from his career.
Hulk Hogan is still drawing fans and chants after all these years.

WWE owns ADR, he can't use that ring name again even if he wanted to. He'll be going back to Dos Caras Jr I would imagine.

I hope Lesnar slaughters Cena!

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2014-08-17 11:13:02

Stuck a £5 accumulator on Reigns, Stephanie, Rollins, Ziggler, AJ, Swagger, Wyatt and Brock.

Hard one to pick tonight. Rollins vs Ambrose and Swagger vs Rusev could go either way, and there's always a chance of Cena winning regardless of how dumb it would be. I think Miz is more likely than Ziggler, too, but I can't bet against Ziggler, especially when it's the fucking Miz.

£174 if it comes off. Long shot, but it always makes watching more fun anyway.
