As far as Santino & Kozlov with the belts, I disagree with everybody here. Ironically, they're the most popular tag team right now, so, whether it's a comedy team or not, it actually makes sense. I always figured they'd get a run anyway.

@MTPK: You should be glad that we hate Cole - they're called 'heels' for a reason. If we hate him, then he's doing a great job. Difference is, though, is a lot of people, including many here, just outright hate him period, whereas I was never bothered by him as a face. To each their own, y'know.

Redangle would be on your side, though, if he were still around; he loves heels.

Watching RAW, and holy shit...
CM Punk is wearing a goddamn Charles Manson t-shirt.
I don't know whether to applaud him or spit on him.

I am facepalming a little, it's like you expect a "herp, I did not know that." No I say "fuck the Cole haters" because pretty much no one is seeing the positive of Heel Cole. He's genuinely funny Ofcourse many people here aren't actually hated him for being a heel, they're hating him for just not liking his bullshit, which I will agree needs to stop. Specifically the crap about Daniel Bryan. But then again, lulz were had at SummerSlam because Cole was ON THE BALL.

So according to sources, Todd Grisham has officially been kicked out of the smackdown announce team.. he is being replaced by Josh Matthews.

I think this is a good choice in my opinion, Grish was terribly bland on commentary and has some personality doing backstage interviews.. sure he's no Okerland or Coach, but I remember he did some interviews with Cena a couple of years back that would make me laugh.. I also remember him bashing TNA.

Meanwhile, Matthews is pretty good on commentary (not letting Cole give him shit) and quite bland as a backstage interviewer.. I dunno why they didn't do this months ago..

I'm actually kinda happy that Santino and Kozlov are tag champs.. I do find them quite entertaining and I've become a new fan of Kozlov ever since he turned face.. who knew that his stiff personality would actually get a chuckle or 2?.. also now that they're champs, they can appear on both shows which means more funny shit from Santino.

After what we saw, does it look like Nexus is splitting? In my opinion, no.. I think they might stick together until about WM, then it's over.. They really need to turn Gabriel back to a face.. he just doesn't convince me as a heel (despite the "heel beard").. also he's a pretty good wrestler so it's hard not to like the guy.. keep everyone else as a heel though.. but maybe split them up to seperate brands.. chuck Gabriel, Husky and McGullicutty on Smackdown.. keep the rest on RAW.

Well, at least it was for someone deserving.

I think this is a good choice in my opinion, Grish was terribly bland on commentary and has some personality doing backstage interviews.. sure he's no Okerland or Coach, but I remember he did some interviews with Cena a couple of years back that would make me laugh.. I tend to agree. I don't think Grisham is BAD, he's also not great either. He's good, competent. I think Josh Matthews though may be better and certainly has a better grasp on history and obviously loves it. I think this is a good call and one hopes Cole won't overpower, I'd love to see what he and Stryker could do without Cole.

Meanwhile, Matthews is pretty good on commentary (not letting Cole give him shit) and quite bland as a backstage interviewer.. I dunno why they didn't do this months ago..

Again I agree, it's amazing to me Matthews wasn't given more of a shot when ECW was shuttered as I've long felt just having him do NXT is a waste.

Which I think was the idea, but I just don't agree with comedy characters ever holding any championship of any kind. Championships are supposed to matter and be somewhat "sacred". I know Russo and people like him like to say belts are just props. Well yes, they are, but it's all about how that prop is used. If you treat the championships like they matter, and the guys who wear them like they matter then both will matter and the next guy to hold it gets immediate enhancement from the taking the belt off the prior champion.

I think it still may be early to split Nexus...especially with WWE's track record of not really pushing guys. Barrett is the only guy that's "made" here, Otunga is close...the rest are just kind of "there" but then again they did successfully re-package Cody Rhodes after his disastrous Legacy run. Still, I think you want at least half of Nexus to get over and be viable long term, I don't feel we're there yet.

And she was supposedly teaching Miss Testmocker to wrestle, a concept that is incredibly ludacrious and silly because asking Lacy von Erich to wrestle is a dumb idea.

But knowing TNA they probably dropped the fucking side-story altogether. Because continuity is too much for them.

Examiner.com has provided an update on Jeff Hardy's court appearance yesterday, which continued his ongoing battle against multiple drug charges. The report reveals that the case has been delayed yet again, with Hardy set to return the Moore County Supreme Court on January 20th, 2011.

Why does this case keep getting delayed?

Kaval had an MRI on his ankle and is waiting for the results. I hope he isn't hurt too bad.

I also read here that TNA management is going to be "keeping an eye" on Jeff Hardy... Look guys, I know you spent a lot of money on the dude, but check him into rehab or something. If he is showing up stoned out of his mind don't send him out to wrestle. He could get somebody killed out there.

What a shock...

Why does this case keep getting delayed?

Because Hardy has a lawyer that apparently specializes in delaying tactics. Believe me, the Court would love to get this over and done with. This is all Hardy and his lawyer who keep finding ways to get delays.

Kaval had an MRI on his ankle and is waiting for the results. I hope he isn't hurt too bad.

Me neither...if he's seriously hurt at this time of year, say, out past Mania...he may as well kiss his WWE run good bye because he is firmly in the "rent don't buy" club right now. Nobody on creative seems to be pushing for him whatsoever.

I also read here that TNA management is going to be "keeping an eye" on Jeff Hardy... Look guys, I know you spent a lot of money on the dude, but check him into rehab or something. If he is showing up stoned out of his mind don't send him out to wrestle. He could get somebody killed out there.

But that would break TNA's unwritten policy of "come to TNA and do whatever the fuck you want!". I heard what happened Sunday was basically miscommunication between Hardy and management but...again, this is a guy that is right now up on multiple drug charges, TNA has put the title on him and is building him as their lead heel. When basically he's a conviction away from serious jail time and them being unable to get the belt off other then stripping him (which apparently is the preferred method of title removal anyway). But in this case, I heard it was that tour they did overseas at basically the last minute, and he had basically not been able to get home at all (where he has a new baby to deal with) so this seems more like a case of a guy who was overly tired vs. a guy who showed up after downing substances he shouldn't have.

You forgot to mention who...but I'm guessing Edge?

If for some reason they're true, I called it.

I don't think I see it personally. I seriously wonder if they won't flip the belt to Edge at TLC since the SD! ratings with Kane as champ have not been good and the fans love Edge right now. Not that I'm going to try and claim that's going to tip the scales (it won't) but it would be a step in the right direction.

If Edge is champion by the time Christian comes back I just can't see WWE giving Christian a spot feuding with him because it seems pretty obvious they don't really see him as a major star. Which is something SD! could probably use a bit more of right now.

From the second he hit the mat and the way his leg bent after that drop, you could tell something was off from how the ref reacted. That and he was literally hopping on one foot the entire match. It was still a commendable job that he finished the match especially considering his moveset which involves a lot of kicks.

Why do they hate Chavo so much? Why?!

So I know voting is going on but I figured I'd list what is up for the Slammy Awards and try to see which one might win.

Shocker of the Year
-The Miz cashes in Money in the Bank, becomes WWE Champion
-John Cena loses and is forced to join The Nexus
-The Nexus takes out Mr. McMahon
-Paul Bearer turns on The Undertaker

I'd say John Cena in Nexus was a shocker to me.

Knucklehead Moment of the Year
-Big Show unmasks a bald CM Punk
-Santino Marella gets out-danced by Vladimir Kozlov
-Beth Phoenix eliminates The Great Khali from the Royal Rumble
-Lay-Cool gets beaten by Mae Young

The Santino one I guess. These nominations don't really jump out to me..

Despicable Me Award
-CM Punk sings "Happy Birthday" to Rey Mysterio's daughter
-Sheamus attacks Triple H with a lead pipe while The Game talks about Shawn Michaels
-The Nexus attacks Ricky Steamboat and WWE Legends
-Kane buries The Undertaker alive

I'd go with Nexus again.

Holy %&^*%&* Move of the Year
-Kofi Kingston hits Drew McIntyre with a leg drop off ladder through announce table
-John Cena sends Batista onto a car and through the stage with two Attitude Adjustments
-Randy Orton delivers RKO to a flying Evan Bourne
-John Morrison dives off set onto Daniel Bryan and The Miz

The RKO on Bourne kicked ass.

Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year
-Mike Tyson punches out Chris Jericho
-Pee-wee Herman vs. The Miz
-Florence Henderson kisses The Great Khali
-William Shatner sings WWE Entrances

Gotta go with Pee-wee for this one.

"Oh Snap" Meltdown of the Year
-Big Show destroys Jack Swagger's trophies
-Edge destroys the Raw GM's computer
-Alberto Del Rio injures Rey Mysterio's arm with a steel chair
-Batista quits WWE

Edge all the way!!

WWE Moment of the Year
-Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels shake hands
-The Nexus debuts and attacks John Cena
-The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels in Michaels' final match
-Kane wins Money in Bank, cashes in on same night

Taker vs. HBK. Tough competition though. What did you guys pick?

Since the other 3 aren't really that shocking, I'd have to go with CeNexus. It went against the usual Superman booking, which is obscenely rare.

Knucklehead Moment of the Year
-Big Show unmasks a bald CM Punk
-Santino Marella gets out-danced by Vladimir Kozlov
-Beth Phoenix eliminates The Great Khali from the Royal Rumble

BALD PUNK.

Punk again. That was pretty fucking rotten.

Holy %&^*%&* Move of the Year

-John Cena sends Batista onto a car and through the stage with two Attitude Adjustments
-Randy Orton delivers RKO to a flying Evan Bourne
-John Morrison dives off set onto Daniel Bryan and The Miz

Randy Motherfucking Orton pwnage all the way. It takes a SHITLOAD of talent on both him & Evan to pull that off successfully w/o seriously fucking Evan up.

Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year
-Mike Tyson punches out Chris Jericho
-Pee-wee Herman vs. The Miz
-Florence Henderson kisses The Great Khali
-William Shatner sings WWE Entrances

Shatner. I couldn't stop laughing at that.

"Oh Snap" Meltdown of the Year
-Big Show destroys Jack Swagger's trophies
-Edge destroys the Raw GM's computer
-Alberto Del Rio injures Rey Mysterio's arm with a steel chair
-Batista quits WWE

Edge. It's a no-brainer.

WWE Moment of the Year
-Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels shake hands
-The Nexus debuts and attacks John Cena
-The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels in Michaels' final match
-Kane wins Money in Bank, cashes in on same night

Aw, fuck, they're putting BOTH of those Shawn Michaels moments against each other? COME ON!!! I'm torn between those two, so may the best moment win on that one.

CM Punk getting un-masked I guess.

Despicable Me Award

Sheamus attacking Triple H, though CM Punksinging happy birthday was pretty creepy.

Randy Orton, the co-ordination was great.

Guest Star Shining Moment of the Year
-Mike Tyson punches out Chris Jericho
-Pee-wee Herman vs. The Miz
-Florence Henderson kisses The Great Khali
-William Shatner sings WWE Entrances

Pee-wee Herman or Florence Henderson, I found both ammusing.

"Oh Snap" Meltdown of the Year
-Big Show destroys Jack Swagger's trophies
-Edge destroys the Raw GM's computer
-Alberto Del Rio injures Rey Mysterio's arm with a steel chair

Edge destroying the computer, that guy can sell anything perfectly. I would say Batista but it was building up to a moment like that for weeks.

WWE Moment of the Year
-Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels shake hands
-The Nexus debuts and attacks John Cena
-The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels in Michaels' final match
-Kane wins Money in Bank, cashes in on same night

The Nexus, the way it was pulled off and filmed was perfect.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that TNA star Stevie Richards was hospitalized last week after having his elbow drained. Additionally, there is said to be no word on Richards' current TNA status with the company having phased out the EV2 faction.

I hope he's ok. I also hope that he stays employed. It's a shame that he was never really used to his full potential when he was with the WWE. Sure he did well as the leader of the RTC but after that it was just kinda there.

from wrestlezone:
While WWE star Dolph Ziggler noted on his Twitter account that he did not break his nose at the Survivor Series PPV against Kaval, several sources are reporting that he did suffer a concussion. This is the reason why WWE kept him out of the ring the week following the PPV, as officials wanted to give him time to recover properly.

That must have been one hell of a shot to the head. Let's hope he is able to recover quickly.

Slammies is the worst episode of RAW for the year. I hate awards ceremonies at the best of times.
I will only be watching to see what happens with Cena and Nexus, I'm thinking that they have some sort of "unsanctioned street fight" at TLC to keep Cena "fired" and keep Barrett in Nexus.
That is what I am hoping for anyway.

Ugh...Michael Cole wins a slammy? Which makes me believe that, at least in the case where they had an angle or promo already prepped for after the person who won accepted, the voting was rigged. So why even open it to the fans then?

Happy to see Punk win, that was by far the most evil thing by a heel this year. Not surprised Superman got the nod, but at the same token, I hate how he's booked but I respect the hell out of what John Cena does for the company, and what he's done with the celebrity status his position with the company affords him. I know people will scream politics about the Diva Battle Royal but honestly? Fuck you if you say that, because LayCool has EASILY been the best and most interesting diva act of the year.
