This is why these sorts of general assumptions are crap. I enjoy the guys work, especially the stuff I saw of him in matches with Liger and Punk in ROH and FIP. You don't like his work that's all well and good, you're certainly entitled to his opinion. Just don't assume mine is due to a "herd mentality"

Originally, before he got to the WWE, I had just went on the bandwagon due to the praise everyone else was giving him, having not seen his prior work yet. Now that I've seen his in-ring talent, it's pretty damn clear why he has the rep that he does.

You couldn't possibly have expected him to actually be gone for good. Being "fired" by the WWE in this fashion is the equivalent of getting a vacation.

I understand that; that's not the problem I have with it. The problem is that this could've been done far more believably than this. Maybe Vince could return, tell Wade & Nexus off, and re-hire Cena himself. Or, at least wait a month or so, and THEN do something. This 'Juan Cena' idea only A WEEK after the whole goodbye thing is stupid, and only serves to make more people hate him.

If you re-read my post, you'll see I had once I actually got to see his in-ring talent. In which case, the bandwagon was justified. Normally, I try to avoid bandwagoning, though, without seeing some solid information beforehand, but in this case, the word of the majority of everyone else here was enough for me.

Hey, you've already been champion twice, but you know what, we're going to let you win King of the Ring to help establish you. Because doing that with championship reigns, or being the guy who took out Triple H in kayfabe just wouldn't work. Seriously, I am raging so hard right now. This is baffling. Anyone else thinks that this was a complete waste?

I have to wonder what the little girl from last week is thinking right now?

NO ONE SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT JERRY LAWLER EVER AGAIN. He decked Cole. He, despite his age, sold the match very well.......or Miz sucked at it, depending how you look at it, but I prefer to believe the former.

So the 'Juan Cena' thing was a red herring, I guess. What actually happened was a lot better & made way more sense. DAMN, Gabriel got FUCKED UP. Heh, now they're regretting ever having assaulted the one thing that could protect them.......hehehehehehehe.....

Sheamus.....meh. Agreed that he was the least deserving of it since he's been champ twice already. Whatever.

fuck it, this doesn't deserve a spoiler alert
Kaitlyn wins NXT 3 which I think is quite bullshit.. sure she's good looking and has some personality, but every match I saw her in is a candidate for worst match of the year..

what pisses me off more is that she beat out 2 wrestlers that COULD actually wrestle!

also this deserves a ****SPOILER ALERT****
NXT 4 is happening and a rumored pro happens to be.... Michael Cole.

I stress the Cole thing is a rumor...I also stress the following piece of information:

So what?

Once they launch Tough Enough NXT will be taken out behind the chemical sheds and put out of it's misery anyway.

Scratch Cole, here's the list:

COMPLETE LIST OF PROS AND ROOKIES FOR NXT SEASON 4
by Mike Johnson @ 8:16 PM on 11/30/2010

Your finalized list for Season Four of NXT:

*Daniel Bryan, the first NXT Rookie to return as a Pro, will be mentoring Derrick Bateman.

*Alberto del Rio will be mentoring Conor O'Brian.

*R Truth will be mentoring Johnny Curtis.

*Chris Masters will be mentoring Byron Saxton.

Ted DiBiase will be mentoring Brodius Clay.

There must have been a last second change as Michael Cole is not mentoring anyone. He was absolutely set to do so as late as this afternoon.

Seth Rollins and Damien Sandow were considered for Season Four, but later dropped in favor of other talents.

thank christ

*Daniel Bryan, the first NXT Rookie to return as a Pro, will be mentoring Derrick Bateman.

I like that a former NXT rookie is now a pro, and it's good that it's Daniel Bryan as he's probably the most experienced rookie.. also we get to see Cole bitch about Daniel Bryan more (which I've been noticing has died down a bit as of late)

*Alberto del Rio will be mentoring Conor O'Brian.

For a second there I thought that said Conan O'Brien.. I would of watched every week lol
I don't really know much about O'Brian except that he used to work dark matches years ago as a guy named Ryan O'Reilly... I'm not sure if I'm psyched about Del Rio as a pro.. seems like a downgrade for this guy.

*R Truth will be mentoring Johnny Curtis.

I don't like that Truth is a pro.. again..
They should of given it to someone like Chavo Guerrero or even Santino.. I would of enjoyed that, I know Curtis was recently tag champ in FCW with Derrick Bateman (Bryan's rookie) and the guy has a bit of personality from what I've seen... I got a good feeling about this guy.

*Chris Masters will be mentoring Byron Saxton.

Byron Saxton aka the old ECW announcer.. didn't know he was a wrestler..
Chris Masters I guessed was gonna be a pro for the last NXT, meh.. it's got something for him to do now as his little mini push seems to be over.

Ted DiBiase will be mentoring Brodius Clay.

This guy is big.. and kinda scary looking.. the type of guy you wouldn't wanna cross in a dark alley.. I thought this guy was released a while back but I guess not.. DiBiase is the same story as Masters.. at least he's got something to do.

There must have been a last second change as Michael Cole is not mentoring anyone. He was absolutely set to do so as late as this afternoon.

good I wouldn't of liked it.. I'm glad theres no "unusual pro" such as Lay-Cool or Vickie Guerrero for this season..

Seth Rollins and Damien Sandow were considered for Season Four, but later dropped in favor of other talents.

I would of liked to have seen Rollins in, I hope they can bring him in without NXT though.. also Xavier Woods (Consequences Creed for TNA fans) should of been considered for this too.. and isn't Damien Sandow that guy who was in a tag team on Smackdown a few years back? with McCool as their manager?.. I can remember his name but man he looks different now.. he's chubby and bald.

Okay, I want to know, why does everyone seem to harp on Michael Cole so much? Yeah I get it, but guess what? All of his actions are to help him get over as a heel commentator. Hence his douchebagginess during Jim Ross' guest appearance. This is WRESTLING people. It's pretty easy to get. Cole trying to weasel his way out of costing Lawler the title is a classic heel move. And he's on all three shows for a reason: He's good on commentary, granted it would help him more to call the matches but hey, a work in process. I think now he's cemented as a the douchebag heel commentator, as opposed to Matt Striker whose the dumbass heel commentator and CM Punk who is the perfect heel commentator.

Yeah, I'm a mark for Punk.. but unless your Shaun or The idiots known as Matt and Jeff Hardy (fuck them, fuck the Hardy's I never EVER!!! liked them) every one kind of is.

There's different kinds of heat, and for me, Cole doesn't get the right kind. Sure, I really hate his character, but does his character make me want to turn on my TV and see him get beaten up? No, I just don't want to turn on my TV as long as he's on there (and I'm not stoked about listening to him at any time...). Also, I can't really see why they'd push his persona at the expense of an actual in-ring performer's.

At this point, I would take Punk commentating over Cole any day, and he's only been there for two episodes. Both Punk and Cole have this thing where you can't tell if they're truly a heel announcer or not because of their reactions to various faces and heels, but Punk is much more convincing and interesting about it. Not slobbering over The Miz is probably the reason for that. Furthermore, I heard Punk not only mention Alex Riley's DUI, but also a reference Bill Swerkski and Da Bears. I hope he's staying long term.

In other news, the company tries to get Sheamus back in the title race. Meh.

Seriously, nothing about Lawler knocking Cole on his ass? REALLY?

Today's headline: "Old King Decks Cole".

*shot*

@Matt: One other thing about Cole; He has a horrible habit of getting his info wrong, or otherwise just saying really dumb shit. Striker's the dumbass? Usually he's the one to drop all the obscure references throughout the show, and is generally one of the most knowledgeable people in the business. Cole, IMO, takes both that role & the douchebag role that Striker's almost entirely grown out of at this point (he still has a little of it, but not as much as Cole right now).

Punk's basically a tweener right now, and he's awesome at it. Frankly, Cole's such a heel at this point that NO ONE ELSE CAN BE A FULL HEEL COMMENTATOR RIGHT NOW.

Byron Saxton.......I knew you guys mentioned him before.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2010-12-01 16:28:24

Stop the presses..

anyways there's news that Cole and Lawler are pushing for JR to come back to the announce table to take Matt Strikers job at PPVs.. as they dislike working with him..
I knew Lawler didn't like Striker (you can really see the tention between them when they work together) but I thought Cole was actually good friends with Striker.. ah well. Apparently JR has been interested in making a comeback too and it's no surprise that the fans want him back.

Also Dashing and Flawless have become one, Cody Rhodes and Layla are apparently an item..
I can see double dates with Rhodes, Layla, Taker and McCool as I type this lol.

I'm looking forward to that as well.

I know Lawler is a longtime veteran but Miz shouldn't of needed Cole to help out. It doesn't exactly make him look strong in his first title defense.

The Iron Drunk hates Hogan you say? And here I thought his previous ramblings were just playful ribbing.

It seems Orton is having neck problems. I hope he is able to recover without needing surgery.

I don't think its been mentioned yet, but how awesome was Mizs reversal of the RKO into the SKF to win the belt. Fit together and worked perfectly. I like it when things come together like that.

It looks like they are finally trying to put Ted Debiase in the right direction, seems like he's going to get rid of that woman for good. Though if this was perfect, they would have him back with Cody Rhodes.

Also, i'm predicting after what I saw on RAW that either Jerry or Michael are going to take a break for a while.

That wouldn't be surprising considering all the snarky comments that King would be making next week if they keep everything the same as it was. And at the end of Raw, it seemed like Punk was getting a tryout since he was the only one commentating and having to recap the events. He did a good job of it even by himself.

Well, not so much fired.. more along the lines of MVP quits. It's no secret that he's been unsatisfied with his run in WWE for the past few months so I guess he finally had enough. Would he go to TNA? I honestly don't think he'd fit in very well there.

I can't believe they are wasting Tyson Kidd vs DH Smith on Superstars, the WWE really messed up with these two. This should have been a PPV quality feud and should have been held off for along time yet.

Why aren't they still together? Such a waste.
