Hmmm...maybe it'sPunk's dad...? LOL DISREGARD THAT HE'S AN ALCOHOLIC

Speaking of the Rock, I read a interview with him and he is planning on hosting Raw sometime this summer. There is a host I can get excited about.

YAY

I feel all sad now. It actually would be kinda cool to see him in that role, though.

How was NXT this week? The results don't tell me much about the quality of the show.

Any early predictions on who will win their matches at WM? I think Edge is probably going to win against Jericho, and Cena has agood chance at beating Batista. The rest of the card is a bit harder to predict. MITB will be an interesting choice, though there are a few in the match that we all think won't win.

Sorry I'm late; general laziness. Due to the amount of replying I'm about to do, I'm gonna have to double post here.

Haven't finished watching this week's RAW, but the one w/ Cheech & Chong was awesome. ^_^ Whether you like Swaggle or not, the bits with the Lucky Charms WERE funny.

Next week promises to be awesome, too........just because Stone Cold's there. :P

Zeke, well, dominated, as expected. At least Mr. Yang still has a job.......for now.

SyFy already confirmed Saturday Night replays. Check out your guide to find out when that's on. Shows how much SyFy is behind the concept since they had the option to do ECW replays for years and never did it, but NXT got the nod before the first episode even hit the air really.

Crap. When I first read this (I was lurking, but I got too tired to post), I was already too late. Oh well, it's good to know this since I forgot to tape this week's.

Now Evan has someone to talk to backstage.......
Don't forget Primo and Chavo!!!! They can form a group! "The Backstage Buddies" that'll be money.

That was just wrong.

Wait, he's related to Edge? Somebody really needs to start telling me these things!
In the storylines, he's Edge's brother. In real life, they're life long best friends who broke into the business together.

Ah.

WWE on twitter reported that Cole shut down his WWE Universe page.. also apparently Styles said that Cole's rant on NXT was 100% real.. and who could blame him, the internet isn't exactly Cole's biggest fan.. I'm actually looking forward to this Cole vs Internet storyline.. but I can see Cole becoming the new Johnathan Coachman.. the announcer heel who is embarrassed every week.

Cole as a heel.......that's new.

Poor Hurricane.. If that incident never happened he would still be in the WWE.. I have a feeling he'll be re-hired again if he doesn't end up on TNA, which actually could seem likely.. (Shannon Moore is there, Jeff's on the verge & he's dating Velvet Sky)

Paul Burchill... oh well..

Ok, Maria & Helms I can sorta understand (the former not going anywhere storyline-wise & the other having issues), but BURCHILL AGAIN!? COME ON!

At least he isn't in the ring with Hornswaggle... For now... Though now that DX is no more I guess they'll have to figure out something new for Hornswaggle to ruin. Maybe he can pin every new wrestler in NXT just to piss off all the hardcore fans and have Chavo in SCUBA gear for no damn reason.

Well, on Superstars last week (I started watching right when his match started), he looked respectable - a long time since that has ever happened.

Ah well from what I heard a while back TNA was interested in taking him, which is kind of the reason why WWE kept Haas for so long without using him.. I hope he does go to TNA, seeing as Angle is there they might treat him right.

IIRC, Angle was all set to give Haas a gigantic push over there, but that's when WWE gave him that raise to keep him. Looks like it was a waste of time, more for him than them.

I can almost guarantee TNA will pick him up now.

Oh well, at least in the case of if they did do that it would make more sense then the TNA match (especially since with a 1 in 4 chance of getting fired, why not just be the guy that doesn't get a briefcase period, earn a title shot a safer way).

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe WWE's trying to one-up TNA at one of their own ideas for a change?

The guys who should really and truly be afraid are guys like his old partner Curt Hawkins who haven't been on TV in almost a year...don't answer your phone if the office calls Curt!!!!

Oh, I forgot: I read an interview that IGN did with Santino; I have to remind myself that he really DOESN'T butcher the English language in real life, lol. :P He seems to be way more gung-ho (there's a word I don't use often) about getting into acting than wrestling - which is obviously a good choice because we all know now that that's where he shines. He's also making sure everyone knows that Kozlov is apparently hilarious in real life - that ought to be something to see.

ProWrestling.net is reporting that TNA officials are "fuming" mad over the fact that SpikeTV posted the Tweet confirming Rob Van Dam's signing with the company. TNA wanted RVD's debut with the company to be a surprise, and did NOT want to announce it before this Monday's live Impact broadcast, but after hearing the interview that Hulk Hogan did where he hinted at RVD signing with TNA, Spike officials jumped the gun and confirmed RVD's contract signing.

I'm going to a concert tonight and am going to miss SD. I've read the results though. Doesn't look bad at all.

So where a lot of us probably aren't doing a job we love, for Punk he just couldn't do something he wasn't not in love with. So basically he just fucked off till he got fired, like they had this thing where everybody was allowed to leave like an hour early one day a week (usually friday), Punk would just leave early EVERY DAY and shit like that. Really his best stuff is things he did in the business (I so need to find footage of that Doink battle royal he was in, if it even exists) but that was a good one.

I just Googled CM Punk's name(Philip Brooks), and apparently, he is clergyman(a noted one!), an author, professor of chemistry, contemporary artist, clinical professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he also has a school named after him. 0.o
Oh yeah, and I think I found the lab he used to work at...
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Laboratory of Nuerogenetics
Philip J. Brooks(one 'L', not two, J., may stand for Jack...so far so good...)
Research Interests: DNA damage and repair in relation to neurological disease, alcohol related pathologies, and aging. Hmmm...
I read through some of the results he got from his expiriments...wow. Nice work, Punk.
Here's the link for those who are curious.
On his MySpace(which hehasn't been on since 2006): "...For those that don't know, being "Straight Edge" means no drinking, no drugs and no promiscuous sex." Tee hee. His username is pepsiplunge1.
On his Twitter: Better than you. 3:25 PM Mar 5th, 2009 via web
is the NEW UCW World Heavyweight Champion, MOTHERFUCKERS!
7:39 PM Mar 12th, 2009 via web
God. Cocky. Also, his username is NGWCMPunk.
It's fun to research CM Punk.

I think its funny that ever since Punk turned heel and beat Jeff you haven't been able to stop talking about him. :P

According to a report on ProWrestling.net, TNA star Sting is limited in what he can do physically in the ring due to a shoulder injury.

I hope he is able to recover. Sting needs to take it easy, he's not a young guy anymore.

SD should be good tonight. Since I've been working more I have to miss Raw, NXT, and Superstars. SD is the only show I can watch on its normal time. everything else I have to try and find clips of the matches.

I do actually watch MMA as well. I do enjoy a good UFC bout but it's not the same as wrestling since there's a unique art to how guys build their matches up, the cooperation inherent to build something greater then the sum of it's parts.

F4WOnline.com is reporting that although WWE ran the replay footage of Brock Lesnar vs Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania XX largely to hype Stone Cold hosting Raw, the company is seeking to work with Bill Goldberg again. WWE is not, however, seeking to work with Goldberg in a wrestling capacity, but rather they want to sign him to a deal where they could use his name and likeness in video games, merchandise products, etc. Additionally, WWE wants to induct Goldberg into the Hall of Fame next year as we have been reporting that they are thinking of basing next year's HOF around a WCW theme as WrestleMania is being held in Atlanta.

So I guess there is supposed to be 10 wrestlers in MITB this year and the last one in will be determined on Raw. My guess will go to Kofi Kingston. How else would they get him involved with WM at this point? Lets rate who has the best chances on those already in:
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest rated to win:

Christian: 8. He seems like a good pick to me, though I have my doubts.

Bourne: 2. He'd there to be a spot guy. I gave him a 2 since I like the guy and am glad he gets to be featured in this match.

Kane: 3. As much as I'd like to see Kane be given one last shot at the top, he's a jobber to the stars at this point.

Matt Hardy: 3. See Kane.

MVP: 5. He's hit or miss for the WWE. Sometimes they push him, other times they don't. It's a tough call.

Shelton Benjamin: 7. Oh man, I'd love to see him win it. This is essentually his match since he's been in every single one. I think this could be his year and since he's get a while before he can cash it in, they could build him up.

Ziggler: 5. See MVP.

Jack Swagger: 2. The guy has zero momentum. He's been almost a jobber since he came to Raw. I just don't see it happening.

Drew McIntyre: 5-8. This is a tough call. on one hand his storyline is that Vince himself said he was going to be a champion one day and his push has been consistent. On the other hand I don't think he's been around long enough to have really earned it. Then again the same could have been said for Sheamus.

This leaves me with the # 10 spot. As I said, my guess is Kofi:

Kofi: 7-9. He was on a roll for a while and we all thought he was going to be a main eventer. This match could be just the thing for him to recover the ground he lost and get a shot at the title.

That is something I've heard myself about next year's HOF. As far as the Goldberg thing, I think it's probably worth a few bucks to get him on a legends type deal, although I seriously have to wonder how much his name is worth at this point since let's face it. The guy was a flash in the pan and had no real legacy in the business other then being the clumsy asshole that ended Bret Hart's career.

So I guess there is supposed to be 10 wrestlers in MITB this year and the last one in will be determined on Raw. My guess will go to Kofi Kingston. How else would they get him involved with WM at this point? Lets rate who has the best chances on those already in:

K, and yes, they did say on Superstars there would be 10.

Christian: 8. He seems like a good pick to me, though I have my doubts.

Good pick yeah, don't see him winning though, I see him being the guy though who is in that sort of "second place" slot though. I'll similarly rank that an 8.

Bourne: 2. He'd there to be a spot guy. I gave him a 2 since I like the guy and am glad he gets to be featured in this match.

There to do high spots, nothing else. He's the "Benjamin" of this match this year. Likilihood? -3

Kane: 3. As much as I'd like to see Kane be given one last shot at the top, he's a jobber to the stars at this point.

Ain't no way he's winning, there to do some monster spots and maybe remind people why he should be taken seriously as a threat and why it should still matter when an up and comer beats him. Give this a 2.

Matt Hardy: 3. See Kane.

Agreed, Hardy is there as a solid hand who can be a "player maker" but is certainly not seen as a player. I see him bumping his ass off in this one to make the other guys look good. Give him a 2.

MVP: 5. He's hit or miss for the WWE. Sometimes they push him, other times they don't. It's a tough call.

Unless this will be the first time someone cashes in and loses, MVP isn't winning this one, how strong they book him though? That's the question. Give him a 3.

Shelton Benjamin: 7. Oh man, I'd love to see him win it. This is essentially his match since he's been in every single one. I think this could be his year and since he's get a while before he can cash it in, they could build him up.

Nope, no, nuh uh. Benjamin will continue to be a bump machine and a spot generator here, but I don't buy that this is the time they get behind him. I don't see him winning this at all, this will be a showcase of how crazy he is willing to be. Give this a 5. I think he'll have a strong showing as ever, but come up short once again.

Ziggler: 5. See MVP.

Yeah, too inconsistent, this might be a way to try and put some focus back on him though. 3.

Jack Swagger: 2. The guy has zero momentum. He's been almost a jobber since he came to Raw. I just don't see it happening.

The best thing to do here is try and use the match to put a little heat and momentum behind Swagger here and then send him to SD! and see if the change of scenery can do anything for him. Agreed as a 2.

Drew McIntyre: 5-8. This is a tough call. on one hand his storyline is that Vince himself said he was going to be a champion one day and his push has been consistent. On the other hand I don't think he's been around long enough to have really earned it. Then again the same could have been said for Sheamus.

Drew is considered the great white hope of the company. With A MITB themed PPV coming up, and the caveat that he could go a full 365 before challenging? Drew is my pick to take the case unless they plan on it not bringing home a world title to the bearer this year. I give Drew a 9 1/2.

I just noticed we have irish icons. Very cool. :)

So yeah its been a few weeks since NXT has been going and Daniel Bryan has yet to win. Do they hate this guy or something? I figure it will turn into a fued between him and Miz but still. Come on WWE.

from wrestlezone.com:

The following is a list of all the announced names to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010:

-Ted DiBiase to be inducted by Ted DiBiase Jr. and Brett DiBiase.

-Gorgeous George to be inducted by his former wife Betty Wagner.

-Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon to be inducted by Pat Patterson.

-Wendi Richter to be inducted by Roddy Piper.

-Antonio Inoki to be inducted by Stan Hansen.

-Stu Hart, rumored to be inducted by The Hart Family, but that has yet to be confirmed.

-Bob Uecker, who has not yet been officially announced as a Hall of Fame inductee by WWE, however, it was revealed in an article that he will be inducted. He will be inducted by Dick Ebersol.

Can't argue this, though I would like to see Virgil somehow involved in this too. Say what you will about the guy, but he was a damn important part of that act and his turning face and feuding with Dibiase was huge.

-Gorgeous George to be inducted by his former wife Betty Wagner.

This is a DAMN deserving induction and the absolute right person is inducting him. If you didn't read the biography on George released last year do yourself a favor and go pick it up as soon as possible. I'm glad Betty will be doing it since the end of their marriage was a real shame, they seemed like two people truly in love but George's alcoholism drove them apart. You have to remember alcoholism wasn't treated the way it is today where it was understood to be an addiction and all, it was just one of those things where you're only option if your husband drank too much was to basically put up with it or leave. I'm glad Betty has lived long enough to see and enjoy this day, I have to feel like if George were still with us, Betty would have been his pick too.

-Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon to be inducted by Pat Patterson.

I'm not too familiar with Vachon to be honest. This one feels a bit like "we needed another person in here...and he was kind of a big deal for Verne Gagne sooooo..."

-Wendi Richter to be inducted by Roddy Piper.

I think it's deserved, some don't. It's a "hell freezes" moment since it seemed like a lock Richter would never ever be back after being involved in the original "screw job"

-Antonio Inoki to be inducted by Stan Hansen.

I think it's deserved based on everything he's done and been in Japan...will they finally acknowledge he's a former WWF Champion though?

-Stu Hart, rumored to be inducted by The Hart Family, but that has yet to be confirmed.

I see Bret handling this, and maybe the Hart Dynasty...the rest of them showing up too? Uh...I'm not so sold that'll happen...

-Bob Uecker, who has not yet been officially announced as a Hall of Fame inductee by WWE, however, it was revealed in an article that he will be inducted. He will be inducted by Dick Ebersol.

WWE.com is reporting that the following has officially been added to WWE's Wellness Policy:

"WWE has eliminated using folding metal chairs to 'strike' an opponent in the head. The WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension the following: The intentional use of a folding chair to 'strike an opponent in the head. Any blow to the head that is deemed an intentional act."

This works in a couple of ways. It allows them to give a reason as to why a person isn't aiming for the others head, it helps keep injuries down, and it can be an easy way to get a wrestler off tv for storyline reasons if need be. I have no problems with WWE not wanting to have their workers be hit in the head and am glad this is going to be put into place.

Yeah, we really don't need the sick chairshots to the head anymore. Especially when you look at matches like Taker and Michaels had last year. They had a match most people believe was the greatest match on the biggest yearly wrestling show. Were there weapons? Nope. Crazy spots? Well, one. Guys having to break furniture and bludgeon each other left and right? Nope.

Let's go back to basics already so we safeguard guys well being and make sure they have longer careers. I bet a guy like Edge probably wishes he could go back and do less of the crazy shit he did to get over.

I CAN SEE WHY THEY DID THAT, BUT...WHY?!?!?! A lot of people are going to be upset about that. The fans, i mean. I'm definitely upset.
*sigh*
I guess we won't be seeing anything very violently extraordinary at the Edge v. Jericho match at WrestleMania.

Oh yeah...I wanna take a poll. Just to see if I'm right or not.
1. Do you buy WWE Magazine?
Yes
2. Do you own at least three different copies of a Smackdown Vs RAW videogame?

3. Do you buy MMA magazines or the Inside Wrestling magazines?

4. Do you Wiki certain wrestlers for fun?

We really haven't been seeing a lot of them lately and I don't think it's honestly hurt my enjoyment of the shows, has it hurt yours?

I guess we won't be seeing anything very violently extraordinary at the Edge v. Jericho match at WrestleMania.

In terms of weapon shots? Probably not...but then again that match hasn't been made a street fight or no DQ yet...what is up with all the no dq on this show?

Oh yeah...I wanna take a poll. Just to see if I'm right or not.

Ok, I'll bite.

1. Do you buy WWE Magazine?

No.

2. Do you own at least three different copies of a Smackdown Vs RAW videogame?

No, I own too, due to surgery and a feeling that I'm not exactly getting as much value for the monetary outlay anymore I skipped this year, I traded in prior iterations, but up until this edition I had bought every one from the original forward, and the prior smackdown games as well, and War Zone and Attitude (I also have working copies of Hardcore Revolution and Anarchy Rulz! laying around too).

3. Do you buy MMA magazines or the Inside Wrestling magazines?

No, I don't buy a lot of magazines though, as far as the wrestling mags? They still tend to be struggling with being work or shoot and I have no real use for work, and I already get a good amount of shoot for a lot less monthly outlay. The schizophrenia just makes it worthless to me.

4. Do you Wiki certain wrestlers for fun?

Not really, if I'm looking for information I do...especially if I'm adding to my tape or DVD collection for certain guys (I've used it for Taker a time or two)

5. Favorite WWE wrestler? Favorite TNA wrestler? Favorite RoH/Chikara/former WCW/ECW/NWA/New Japan Pro Wrestling/FCW/other wrestler?(if you have one?)

The Undertaker, Edge, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Chris Jericho.

Guys that I could see becoming favorites down the line: Drew McIntyre, Shaemus, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan.

Guys I badly want to like but WWE has shown me emotional investment would be frivolous: Ted Dibiase, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, The Hart Dynasty.

TNA: That whole company has over and over shown me if I don't want to re-live 90's WCW in terms of main event talent, or booking, why bother?

Talents I would get behind if TNA shows me they won't yank the rug out and fuck me over if I care: RVD, Samoa Joe, Desmond Wolfe, Dangelo Dinero, Christopher Daniels.

JESUS. Theyre banning everything but Cena's shitty wrestling ability. I'm not so mad at the chair shot ban as I am them chipping away at EVERYTHING... cursing, blood, now chair shots... theyre gonna keep shaving the red meat off til all thats left is a bland BONE. By the time WWE is done, itll be awful, AWFUL TVG kiddie crap. THANK CHRIST for TNA... where guys over the age of ELEVEN have a product aimed at them, not their KIDS.

that and the main event being 1 of 3 things:

Cena VS Guy that loses
Triple HHH VS Guy that loses
or
Triple HHH VS Cena.

I wouldve laughed in yer face if youdve told me Id be supporting TNA over WWE 5 years ago. Idve followed WWE to the ends of the earth, even back when WCW had the more popular program. But now that theyre picking the 5 year olds over the people that kept them afloat for years when they REALLY NEEDED IT?

...Fuck Em.

Oh well. TNA is getting bigger and WAAAY better, and WWE can keep fucking up, chipping away at the hard stuff that makes you wanna tune in and keep the same 5 guys at the top because one of em is busting nuts in yer kid. It wouldnt be the first time they XFL'ed themselves when they had the upper hand.

with the chair shot ban its just one more straw on the camels back for me to continue my boycott until they pull their heads outta their asses and make a BETTER PRODUCT. Meanwhile Ill get my fix with the RVDs, the Samoa Joes, the WOMENS DIVISION THAT CAN ACTUALLY WRESTLE AND LOOKS TAKE A BACKSEAT TO TALENT, the X division, and the hungry young guys with WRESTLING ABILITY getting a push because they EARNED IT.

TNA ALL THE WAY.

ok.

1. Do you buy WWE Magazine?

I used to. That was a long while ago though since I had to pay for it and I felt I wasn't really getting anything out of it I stopped. This was around the time of the InVasion part of WWE so this was a while back.

2. Do you own at least three different copies of a Smackdown Vs RAW videogame?

I do. Sadly I had wanted to sell some of them but no one wants to buy... :( I even still have Warzone and WWF Attitude. I used to buy the new version every year but I haven't gotten a new one since SD vs. Raw 2006.

3. Do you buy MMA magazines or the Inside Wrestling magazines?

Nope. The only magazine that I still have a subscription to is Mad.

4. Do you Wiki certain wrestlers for fun?

Sometimes. I wiki those that I am not familiar with so I can learn background info or see what other promotions they have worked for.

5. Favorite WWE wrestler? Favorite TNA wrestler? Favorite RoH/Chikara/former WCW/ECW/NWA/New Japan Pro Wrestling/FCW/other wrestler?(if you have one?)

Thats a tough one. Hmmm.. Jericho, Edge, Morrison, Undertaker, Mick Foley.

And the combined age of it's top stars is somewhere around 200!!!

that and the main event being 1 of 3 things:

Cena VS Guy that loses

Batista is a guy that loses all the time?

Triple HHH VS Guy that loses

Shaemus loses all the time? Wait...did I dream that WWE Title run guys?

Triple HHH VS Cena.

Not a feud we're currently seeing...they probably will go back to it.

5 year olds will help keep them afloat because five year olds have to drag mom and dad to the shows as well. I don't blame them for wanting to make a more "all ages" product, but "all ages" does not have to mean stupid illogical booking that turns off the older audience. TNA is just as bad since they constantly mention WWE, build whole storylines around WWE. Use washed up old guys that like to talk about their felonies like "wasn't it assume when I did..." on COMPANY OWNED FUCKING OUTLETS!!! (Go listen to Scott Hall's latest Last Call).

...Fuck Em.

That was kind of how I feel about TNA.

Wouldn't be, but TNA isn't growing their audience, they're just maintaining the Thursday audience, I don't know where you're getting the idea of growth from, because TNA isn't showing it. Until they get off this ridiculous idea of running head to head with no replay against RAW (especially during Mania season) with the same old guys people have seen for 20 years in increasingly ridiculous and flat angles that are also retread, they will just sink and eventually piss off the current base. In 5 years, TNA will either be out of business or be a WCW in 2001 like non-entity. They need to run the ship smarter if they actually want to grow and make money.

with the chair shot ban its just one more straw on the camels back for me to continue my boycott until they pull their heads outta their asses and make a BETTER PRODUCT. Yeah, RVD who got destroyed in one week and turned into just another guy...Samoa who? I seem to remember a guy by that name...but he's been off TV so long...hey, I'm glad you found something you like, but I just have a problem with you sitting here and being the cheering section for the TNA product with half-truths or blatant distortions of the facts.
