I think they should just quit trying to push him as a wrestler, and put him in a remake of Unbreakable.

We wish Mr. Kennedy well in his future endeavors. Seriously, if not just a little sprain or some other thing he can get through, that should be the next step with him.

Also just wanted to point out that if you go to www.hulu.com you can watch the entire Friday Night Smackdown! show and ECW 100% for free, 100% legal (which should be a duh since I never promote or let you guys promote watching WWE streams illegally anyways :p). I recommend checking that out, and this week's episode was quite strong and as for the whole "Umaga talks" issue, it's not like it was a long promo, basically he just challenged Punk to a strap match, and said he was going to hurt him bad. I think if you won't give him a mouthpiece then Umaga HAS to start cutting promos, at least minimal ones like the one on friday or he's just going to be a one dimensional bruiser that can only go so far. It's not ECW up there where he can do stupid insane stunts like Sabu and get over that way, and it's not like back in the day when a guy like Kamala or Giant Gonzalez would do the work and Harvey Wippleman or somebody would handle the talk. To me? Not a big issue, but I could be wrong.

Hey, at least I got his last name right.

For the record, for a while I was accidentally calling Joey Styles A.J. Styles instead.

I'll have to check hulu then. Thanks for the info Avie!

Really? Kennedy got hurt again? Man how did he ever get signed with WWE to begin with if he's so injury prone?

So at Extreme Rules there will be a triple threat for the ECW title. If they are ever going to put the belt on Dreamer this would be the best time to do it. I hope he wins, but knowing WWE it does seem unlikely.

A new PPV will be replacing Unforgiven this year.

Source: 411mania.com

The WWE Unforgiven PPV is no more. The September 13th PPV, which will be held in Montreal will now be called "WWE Breaking Point". Tickets will go on sale for the event on July 11th. WWE Breaking Point will feature submission stipulations in the main event matches.

PWInsider confirmed it as well. Hey, it's better then doing those ridiculous scramble bouts again.

As far as Dreamer, I know a deal was in front of him, but nobody could confirm if he signed or not. If he gets the belt, obviously he did, if he doesn't get it, he didn't sign. It's as simple as all that. They have put a little more emphasis on the storyline again, but I'm not sure if that's to cement that Dreamer is staying, or to make sure nobody questions why he left and give him something approaching a nice exit.

Anyone actually got any sources stating Kennedy's hurt, because I've been hearing it was a work by him, selling the fact that Legacy's team had been working on his arm all match, as well him making a sort of inside joke to the people who complain that he's always injured.

Hm, first the name change from ONS to ER (lol), and now replacing a PPV ENTIRELY......interesting way they're doing things all of a sudden. But hey, a little change is always good.

So was anyone watching Impact just now?

I start watching it, and Abyss is about to be caned by Stevie Richards... all of a sudden, RAVEN COMES OUT FROM THE CROWD, takes the Singapore Cane and proceeds to attack Raven. Long story short, Raven and Stevie Richards are now a team.

Not sure why, but that seems familiar >_>

So.....Raven smacked himself with the cane? That seems weird. :P I think you mean he hit Abyss right? I'm ok with them teaming honestly. It's kinda like a reunion. Sure this has been done before but hey, at lest Raven is back on tv. I'm also glad that Richards isn't a jobber. I guess.. I don't actually watch TNA so I've got no idea. :P

Elijah Burke worked a dark match for TNA so he might be joining the company soon as well.

Unfortunately, I missed TNA tonight (apparently received the cable box that DOESN'T have DVR w/o realizing........ARGH!)......

Seriously, why is Vince holding onto ECW when MOST OF IT IS ON TNA NOW!? Y'know what? Dreamer should just go on to TNA, then Paul Heyman can join in, and then maybe Heyman & Jarrett can work together to buy ECW back from Vince - it should be cheap by now, and now there's that WWE Superstars thing on WGN, so there's not much of a loss.

Anybody agree?

And, again, WHERE THE HELL IS TAZZ!?

Let me answer your questions as I'm assuming they were quite serious.

Seriously, why is Vince holding onto ECW when MOST OF IT IS ON TNA NOW!?

Vince and co don't care about the ECW fanbase. They do care about having that footage though as fodder for 24/7 and future DVD releases. To be blunt (and hey, I was diehard in the revolution of ECW from 1999 right up until the day the bankruptcy went through), the only asset ECW really had was it's video library. That's what Vince wanted it for, and that's what he got. As far as the letters, to Vince's mind now that's something he has spent time and money trying to build into a third brand for WWE (let's not get into how well or how shitty that build has been, it's irrelevant to the discussion at hand). So to Vince's mind he's made an investment in it and there's no way he's going to "abandon" that investment now unless he thinks it makes the most sense for him financially and ego wise.

Dreamer just might head down there, I can't see anything about or with TNA at the present moment that would make me think Dreamer would steer clear of the company.

I think Paul Heyman is well and truly done with wrestling unless he gets a fuck ton of money somewhere and probably full creative control. I doubt he'll sign onto a company he's ragged on so badly as simply an on-air performer, especially with at least one person on that writing team who ripped off a lot of his work for years and didn't credit him. Unless Paul is coming in to run TNA creative for a few million dollars, I don't see that appealing to him.

There is no way Vince will say the ECW letters to anybody, ever. Vince has done a lot to kill it off and it's credibility, but look at the NWA. Those letters have meant basically nothing since Crockett folded but there are still people out there using it and doing ok with shows using the letters. So there's no way Vince is going to hand a tool (even a very small tool) to a competitor to exploit. Never gonna happen.

Anybody agree?

Nope, it'll never happen and really? TNA needs to build on it's own strengths and forge it's own future, you can't keep relying on nostalgia.

And, again, WHERE THE HELL IS TAZZ!?

He's under a very long no-compete from WWE. Announcers apparently have even a little longer then wrestlers do. TNA is doing all they can to make people understand he's coming in, and Taz (that's how he spells it, that's how it should be spelled, drop the extra "z" already) is doing all he can to keep his name fresh in the minds of the core target audience to TNA online.

Why? Well if you find them be a pal and DON'T post them here. Thank you.

Is TNA brining Taz in to announce or will he come out of retirement for a few matches? I would imagine that his neck problems would prevent an in ring return so my guess is that they will add him to the announcing team.

First things first. Yes, I meant to say Abyss (Not Raven) in my previous post.

As for Taz, the logical choice is for him to be an announcer, but it looks like he'll be a manager/mentor of sorts to Samoa Joe. Hell, the last couple of weeks we've seem Joe using a black towel and talking to a faceless figure backstage (Which is supposed to be Taz).

Anyways, over on WWE land... Once again, Superstars was an entertaining show with one great match (The Colons vs WGTT) and two good matches (Swagger v Finlay, Cena v Dibiase). I have to admit it, Superstars is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite show on tv (Behind SD), since its usually just an hour of good wrestling. Its a good way to make you forget about the crap we're getting on Monday nights.

AHA!!! Cool, cool; I was getting worried that something bad happened with him. Although Mick Foley did leave the same way, he still seemingly debuted faster than the months since Taz left. Being a coach, though, surprises me; it'd be a hell of a lot better if TNA fires/position-swaps either Tenay or West and then have him be the replacement.

Either way, I have a feeling Taz is going to have one hell of a reception by the fans.

I think it's the best thing for the guy; I'm not even sure giving him the ECW belt will be enough at this point to keep him on board.

TNA needs to build on it's own strengths and forge it's own future, you can't keep relying on nostalgia.

However, most of ECW's nostalgia IS, as far as I've seen, weaved into TNA's framework; they are the real 'extreme wrestling' franchise out there right now.

What I was referring to was Vince Russo's propensity for taking Paul Heyman's ideas and concepts and pushing them as his own for WWE. Russo often tries to credit himself as the guy who pushed Vince towards "Attitude" and that included a lot of matches, content, and general style ECW was doing at the time. I've always felt that Heyman should have been trying to get on cable TV in 96 or 97 instead of PPV to expose his product to the wider world before WWE and WCW and it's people were able to poach his talent and concepts.

Why is he such a target? Because his shit worked!!! Because people gave a damn about it and TNA seems to be running in such a nostalgia kick like WCW where they either don't want to, or don't have the ability to really forge a new direction and rely on the past and silly gimmicks for their product. Wrestling is all about theft, and Paul Heyman is one of the most successful creative forces in wrestling ever.

I don't expect Vince to WILLINGLY give it up; I do see someone buying it from him at some point.

Not happening unless Vince goes bankrupt or he badly needs to fire sale stuff. It just will not happen, those letters are his forever, even if he stops using them. He was willing to sue the hell out of carny Dale Gagner over the AWA letters and he's done nothing with those beyond a DVD.

However, most of ECW's nostalgia IS, as far as I've seen, weaved into TNA's framework; they are the real 'extreme wrestling' franchise out there right now.

No, there's also CZW which is blood and guts, Ian Rotten's IWA Mid-South as well. TNA is WWE lite in terms of storylines, and trying to be like ECW, WCW, and WWE of the 90's with it's match types and stuff. I don't think they're "extreme" wrestling at all, just because they have a match or 2 like Monster's Ball, and they've really de-emphasized a lot of the extreme wrestlers and don't bring in former ECW guys like they used to.

What was odd about that is that they called him Ken Kennedy, which is not his real name, his real name is Ken Anderson. Pretty dramatic fall from grace here as only a couple years ago Vince McMahon himself had this guy pegged as a can't miss main eventer, and now he's been released amid injuries, stupid comments to the press...very sad as if the guy had been able to keep his act together who knows what he would have done in WWE. I'm sure TNA is chomping at the bit to grab him up.

also if only he didn't injure himself or take steroids he probably would of had a WWE title reign or 2.. shame really, he did have the talent..

also in other news there have been talks of making an Undertaker/Dolph Ziggler feud
while i do think Ziggler is a main eventer in the making, i think it's just too soon to be having him feud with one of the biggest stars in the WWE, maybe give him a lengthy IC title run for a while before feuding with one of the big players..

I'd like to think HHH would handle it better, seeing as he's been around for longer and isn't a hothead like Orton.
Alot of wrestlers have botched moves. Even Owen Hart injured someone, it's inevitable. Kennedy has just been such a massive disappointment every single time he was given something. I know some of them weren't his fault, but if anything was going to make me believe in karma, it would be Ken Kennedy.

Please explain. I think I might know what you are talking about but i'm not 100% sure.

Kennedy being released suprised me. Sure we all thought a guy who got hurt so often should be let go but I didn't think WWE would actually do it. I don't think it wil be too long before he shows up in TNA.

SD was pretty good last night. I really enjoyed the main event. When Jericho attacked Rey from the crowd that caught me off guard. He blended right in! Great stuff. I also liked the match between Umaga and Morrison. They did a really good job in making each other look good.
