R-Truth still needs to go die.

How lame was he on smackdown?
Ugh.
He is so god damn lame.
Why do they keep talking him up?
WHY!??

Just die already.

Apart from him, the week of WWE was very entertaining.
I enjoyed almost all of it.

I Do get SD! Yay! I only caught it near the end though. I saw the 6 with CM Punk in it and I enjoyed that, and the main event was good. I'm glad I actually get that channel, even though it doesn't say the network name on my guide. Weird.

What, no D-Luck predictions yet?! Damn, I enjoy reading those. Ah well...

Mysterio vs Kane ... Though I don't really care much for this match, I'll still hazard to guess that Mysterio will win this. The rivalry has had pretty good buildup, it's just a shame that it seems nobody really cares. It's been very teeter-totterish the whole way, and if it wasn't for that silly "take your mask off" stipulation, I'd say Kane would win. Though, I suppose Mysterio is WWE's "biggest underdog" for a reason, eh...

Candice Michelle vs Beth Phoenix / Women's Championship ... I started getting back in to rasslin' almost right after Candice was put on the sidelines, so I don't know much of how much of a fan favourite she was, but I'm gonna assume people don't hate her, to say the least. There hasn't been much buildup for this match at all, short of making Beth look like a freakin' monster in her competitions, especially after slaying Michelle McCool last night. I'm not really sure at all who'll win it, but it seems as if Candice Michelle were to pick up the victory, it would give her an intimidating number one contender... But alas, we must keep in mind Santino's little "phone call" promo a while back... hmmm... could Beth losing the title lead to an eventual "breakup?"

Big Show vs Undertaker ... I'll be damned if this isn't one tricky PPV to predict IMO. I'll be rooting for 'Taker on this one. He's been getting screwed over so much lately, what with his title, being banished, etc, that it would be nice to see him keep on his game with coming back and just taking down La Familia one by one, though Big Show won't be any small feat. Do I think he can do it? Yes. Do I think he will? No. I think Big Show will pick up the win just to keep the ball rolling - if 'Taker takes down Show, there's no more solid foundation to La Familia (at least for a while), and thus, no more main conflict in SD! Unless WWE plans for Edge to come back out of nowhere to get in a rivalry with Undertaker, it'll just be boring to watch.

Batista vs JBL / Number 1 Contendership ... Batista. We have a heel champ on RAW right now anyway, and I know JBL isn't much like your standard heel in that he doesn't really ally himself with other heels - he'll take down anybody to get what he wants - but I mean come on. JBL's just flat out boring, sucks the entertainment out of "sports entertainment," and IMO should just stick to being a mid-card with mid-card matches. Batista's been on the sidelines as far as the title goes for quite some time, as has JBL, but there's a difference - when JBL's in a championship match, people KNOW he's not going to win. On the flipside, Batista puts on some very entertaining headlining matches and overall he's just better championship material than JBL, which is why I'm pulling for Batista to pick up the win here.

Don't watch ECW, so I'll just trim it down and say that Matt Hardy will defend his title, being as I don't know.

Triple H vs Jeff Hardy / WWE Championship ... Triple H. Plain and simple. Jeff just keeps pulling his little stunts and can't keep out of the WWE Tabloids long enough to prove himself worthy of being a clean, stable, successful champion long enough for WWE to take a chance on him. That, plus I'm sure we've all heard rumours of H keeping his title until '09. In any case, though, this will be a great match to watch... I'm just wondering where Hardy will end up if he loses.

Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels / World Heavyweight Championship ... Wait, what? Shawn Michaels can just come out of the shadows and say "hey, I want a championship match" ? Doesn't seem right, which is why in short, I'm thinking Jericho will pick up the victory here. There's been moderate buildup to the match itself, and the Jericho-Michaels feud is, in a nutshell, getting pretty old, and I hope this will be the match to settle it once and for all. Give Jericho the win here, let him brag for a few weeks, then let Batista walk all over him and snag the Championship. Simple.

So, those are my lackluster predictions. Sorry if the wording seems a little short, or the reasoning is a little out-there... I've gotten little sleep lately and I'm pulling on about 4 hours. But in any case, my predictive winners are there, and I think the general messages I was trying to convey were put across at least decently. Enjoy, and happy Pay-Per-Viewing.

now would D-Luck get in here and overrule this? ;-)

I'm talking mor ein the fact that he's a weak champion in terms of how he gets his victories. I'm not saying I don't like his performance, thats one of the better things going on Raw.

He is getting cheap victories, but it's ok because he's booked as a comedic character and not somebody who's supposed to be seen as a serious bad ass. Cowardly comedic heels are fine as long as they're done right, and Santino has been nothing short of gold with the material he's been given. So for once, I have to say I have no problems with what WWE is doing with a particular character.

The only thing I can say about your predictions is that I could see the WWE doing another HBK vs Batasta feud.

If it does happen I hope they focus more on wrestling then personal crap.

Great predictions as always guys. I hope Rey doesn't lose the mask too. Though he isn't currently using one that covers his whole head so that might be an indication of something. But yeah I agree. I didn't work in WCW and it's still a bad idea.

Hey NG people long time no see! Last night here in Lima Ohio I saw and indy wrestling fed called GWA/WAR! It was so awsome I was front row a seat away from the middle! Jerry lawler was there b4 the show for autographs and I got one! Also The Highlanders were there in a 6 man tag and they won. Then at intermission they signed prorams too. One of the stars, Stamlickage sign mine too!

So much Highflying and some on the outside on my end. Once a plancha and another was a slingshot moonsault! The end has Jerry Lawler, Metalhead steve stone, and Brian beech vs Dusty dillanger, Sherman Tank, and Mat Mason. The night was a fued(think aliance vs invasion.) with The king winning for WAR! Also Mat Mason was the mole of gwa he turned face again.

The whole card was great some technical/submission styles and powerhouse/brawler style, and highflying. I cant wait for next month now that gwa is not a seperate show. One new story was apart of the headline, "past, present and future." Lawler was past, Robbie and Rorry are present, and this guy that saved Steve Stone from a 3 on 1 handicapped match. He was bald other than two spaces of hair to look like red devil horns and a beard. The crowd cheered to shake hands when stone extendedhis hand, the guy started to walk away then came back and extended his hand. This looks like a great new tag team!

It is my turn to predict NM matches:
1. Rey Mysterio def Kane: Honestly, I do not care about the match. But with Rey having to unmask himselfg if he loses. I highly doubt that Vince will do the unthinkable which will destroy Rey's charcter.
2. Candice def Beth Pheonix: For me, Kelly Kelly is still just an eye candy and it is not her time to challenge for the women's title just yet. Plus, it makes sense if Candices beats Beth (probably not cleanly) and takes her title considering that Beth put her on the shelf. Once Candice wins the title, she can still feud with Beth, or start a new feud with Katie Lea. If Beth wins, I struggle to think of her next challenger. So with that being said, Candice will win tonight.
3. Big Show def Taker: Apparently, the feud between Taker and La Familia is not over. If Taker wins tonight, he will have nothing to do for the next a few months. Therefore, I see Show winning tonight and prolong the feud.
4. Triple H def Jeff Hardy: It appears that Triple H is turning back to the selfish son of a bitch who does not job to anyone. In addition, Jeff has dropped the ball twice, so there is no way that the company will put the title on him. The best Jeff can hope is another Kozlov attack which will cause a DQ in his favor.
5. Batista def JBL: As much I hate Batista getting another WHC shot, JBL just sucks, period.
6. Y2J def HBK: With Batista winning, it only makes sense if Y2J wins tonight and feuds with him. HBK is one heck of a wrestler, but I do not see him winning, not in this PPV.

I'll be damned if Jeff and Triple H don't put on some of the greatest matches... I hope WWE keeps this rivalry on for a while. Even though I feel a bit bad for Jeff, he puts on great matches when it comes down to it - whether you like the guy or not, you can't dispute that. Too bad he just keeps screwin' himself out of every opportunity he gets.

Unfortunately, the WWE plans to start a HHH vs Kozlov feud so that Kozlov can be buried by Hunter's huge ego. Remember what happened to Umaga after he lost to Cena? Kozlov will never be the same again after he loses to HHH CLEANLY.

Yeah, I just realized that after remembering the little "staredown" the two had after H's match. Who knows, maybe if the rivalry can stop being driven by sucker punches and sledgehammers, they'll have some decent charisma.

I mean hey - nothing can be as bad a Triple H vs The Great Kahli, right?

Oh come on. Are you honestly defending Kozlov? That's like saying it was a shame they only built up Giant Gonzalez so Taker could kill him off. There's no real upside to Kozlov, let H beat him and send him packing. He's another Khali, Snitsky, etc. Worthless big man that can't work.

I disagree. I have watched Kozlov squashing jobbers. Albeit those matches were very short, he appeared to be somewhat decent. I think that it is a bit unfair to say someone sucks considering that he has never worked a match longer than three minutes. It is way better to put him in the mid-card feud and let him show what he can do in longer matches than just burying him.

He works three minutes because if he worked more then three minutes, he'd be lost. It's another case of a guy they like the look of, and the look is overriding really building his skills or anything like that. He's never really shown anything, not now, and certainly not when he was a comedy deal proclaiming his love for the company. Like I say, screw him, let's move on to giving TV time to guys who have talent and acts that might actually get over.

It's being reported that Jericho lost a tooth during the ladder match last night. I hope it wasn't one of the front ones. I heard he and HBK put on one hell of a show.

No titles changed hands last night and aside from a s few weird finishes things turned out very closely to what was predicted. However the quality of the title matches makes up for that I think.

Raw should be interesting to see what Jericho will have to say about his tooth and the new #1 contender Batista.

VERY good PPV. After Hardy hit the Twist of Fate, then the Swanton I was honestly expecting him to get the three count. Actually jumped out of my seat when he hit the second swanton. Rest of the matches (barring Batista/JBL) were also very good. Jericho/HBK was great as expected, Kane/Rey and Taker/Show put on better matches than I was expecting. Henry showed that he's capable of working in the ring these days.

After this stupid Cyber Sunday event (that's only getting three weeks of build btw) is it Survivor Series?

Heh yeah, I think thats probably what will happen. That will be a funny match and situation.

Raw was decent last night. Wow Jericho really did get messed up at the PPV, and unfortunatly his lost tooth is visible. Also seeing HBK flip out was cool.

My favorite match of the night was the tag match with Rey and Matt Hardy. A very good back and forth bout.

I wasn't too keen on the main event since it felt like I could see the ending to it a mile away. I did like that they got Regal involved though it felt like a random choice on Jericho's part.

I agree, that's why we should vote for Goldust, because goddamn he's such a tremendous worker and a true legend...oh wait, not so much.

Ok, but Roddy Piper, come on! Great shape, young guy, legend...oh wait, I'm wrong on two of those counts.

Look, the point here is to get two guys a PPV pay day, have a bit of comedy with Santino, and continue pushing his quest to be the longest reigning IC champ ever. I'm a little disappointed they've got the possibility of Honky coming in this early though. I kind of felt like that's a comedic thing you could bring on towards the last stretch of Santino going for the record. Build it as Honky is pissed Santino will take away his only real claim to fame and he'll do anything to stop it. But maybe that's just me liking this angle and idea more then the average person might.

I know some people don't love the idea of Honky getting a payday based on what an utter tool he's been for years and years, and I get that. But to me the idea here is more about Santino being able to say "Not only have I been Intercontinental champion for x amount of weeks, but I have also defeated the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all times! The Honky Donky Man!". How can you not enjoy the idea of promos like that?

The choices for Cyber Sunday seems way too fixed at this point. For example the guest ref stipulation for the Jericho/Batista match. Between HBK, Orton and Stone Cold who do you think fans would want to see? Stone Cold seems like a sure bet to me, though HBK has a chance.

As for the Santino match. Honkey Tonk, duh. He's been the one that Santino has a damn meter named after for crying out loud. Sure the match will suck but we don't really care about that. If we want a halfway decent match we'll vote for Goldust since out of the three he is the only one still in shape enough to do so.

I was a bit suprised to see John Morrison get the pin over CM Punk last night. Not that I don't think Morrison is undeserving, its just that not long ago Punk was Heavyweight champion and now he's back on ECW and getting pinned. I wonder who in WWE Punk pissed off....

I saw people talking about the IC title match at Cyber Sunday, and I have to ask.

Does anyone else get the feeling that no matter who wins the vote, Charlie Haas will end up wrestling Santino?

For some reason, I don't see WWE bringing in either Goldust or HTM, and I don't see Piper winning the fan vote. I just get the feeling that it'll be either Haasdust vs Santino, or the Honty Tonk Haas vs Santino. As for Punk getting pinned last night, it had to be done. I mean, WWE JUST HAS TO PROTECT RICKY F'N ORTIZ!! Can't make him look weak by taking the pin >_>

I noticed that as well. For some reason, former ECW guys are always treated like doormats by the creative team...

Cyber Sunday to me has always felt like a pretty rigged show when it comes to the voting. I think that's part of it's non-appeal to people, if they're presenting you with a "mystery opponent" bout, they usually set it up like they do the Santino thing, there's one guy it seems pretty overwhelmingly will win, so they can basically book accordingly. Same with stips or special guest refs, they set it up so they can be fairly or completely confident in how fans will vote so they won't really have to do much booking on the fly. This creative team has proven they need formula, and when there's an overall mandate to script everything, a PPV like this is going to suffer because they have to program it, they have to manage it somewhat. So it won't really be the spontaneous thing it could and should be.

As for the Santino match. Honkey Tonk, duh. He's been the one that Santino has a damn meter named after for crying out loud. Sure the match will suck but we don't really care about that. Agreed, this is comedy pure and simple, and putting Santino over a bit more, maybe even a bathroom break thing in the building. I got no problem with HTM coming in, getting embarrassed, and getting a check for it.

That's what happens when nobody sees you as a real priority. Not to mention all the idiot people that keep bad mouthing him over stupid stupid shit but management thinks that stuff matters. Whatever, it seems Punk is a guy destined to be pushed down and pushed down till he doesn't matter anymore.

Which is a real shame considering the fans still like the guy. He may be in the title picture later down the road but at this rate it looks unlikely. Maybe he will be the one to take the IC title away from Santino.

BTW I'd be all for a push for Morrison. He's an underutilized talent in my opinion and i think he could easily be a champino again. If Matt Hardy can come out on top with his fued with Henry, a fued between Hardy and Morrison would be great.

I did think a little more about it again today, and you know? I think they probably see him as the new RVD. A solid guy that the fans like, but they have no real desire to do anything with. So it's not that his lack of a push is malicious, it's just they don't see a reason or a need to protect him and they figure that he'll always have enough fans that he can sell decently with merchandise and crap. Sure it's possible down the road he could be back in the title picture, but the question will become whether or not he'll really seem believable in the role? I think Punk has a great opportunity to turn some heads working with Orton (and probably a lot of that will depend on how generous Orton is feeling, and how WWE wants to treat this). If that comes off a wash, I think he should lobby to be turned heel as he's way better and more comfortable doing that.

BTW I'd be all for a push for Morrison. He's an underutilized talent in my opinion and i think he could easily be a champino again. If Matt Hardy can come out on top with his fued with Henry, a fued between Hardy and Morrison would be great.

Agreed here. Part of why Morrison was moved was because they wanted to see what he could do. I think his first run as ECW Champ was a case of a guy being pushed too far too fast. You had a bad repetitive booker, he was not ready to do promos, but no one can question his work has always been solid. This guy is easily the best thing to come out of the "Tough Enough" experiments (with the caveat that if Matt Capotelli hadn't had his unfortunate brain tumor, and from what I hear he's beating it, he would have very stiff competition for that title). I wouldn't mind he and Hardy being paired up against each other, and there's also the interesting idea of he and Miz even working together to get the title on one of them without the in-fighting early on stuff.

I won't read any spoilers though so I'll either catch the show or read about it later. I do want to see what Taker does in retaliation and where Jeff Hardy goes from here.
