Cantare is the one I'm thinking of, though Cult of Personality was perfect for his character during his heel championship run.

Hmm... It seems Morishima wrestled another dark match last night. This time with Tony Atlas managing him. I get the feeling there's something more to this than just a try-out.

I'm only going to say this once... Mark Henry had a good match with Matt Hardy last night. Yes, Mark Henry and good in the same sentence. The rest of the show was good too. The opening 6-man was awesome, and its always nice to see Super Crazy get the chance to actually DO SOMETHNG. Not only that, I'm actually looking forward to the Knox-Finlay match next week.

I agree, ECW was good last night and suprisingly so was the Mark Henry match. Even the Ortiz match was decent. It was one of the better shows they have done in a while. Shame Bourne was on the loseing side, but Chavo needs a win every once in a while too.

Henry has definitely been on a good streak lately. Really, he's slowly but surely getting better over the last couple years. It's a testament to the idea of sticking with a guy over a long period of time and seeing if he can make something of himself. Not everybody is like a Kurt Angle or Brock Lesnar where they just instantly get the business and become great in a year or so...some people really really have to work at it and be cultivated. It's a great reason for the idea of more competent indies out there, and WWE to let guys take longer in developmental before saying "oh, this guy isn't making progress, he's gone"

Course with WWE doing budgets cuts that idea isn't what they have in mind.

The way they "introduced" Colon is a good indication of how he will fare in WWE. Written off before he even has a chance. Too bad, I heard he was a decent wrestler too.

I thought Noble and Regal were going to have some kind of a fued. What happend to Regal? Did Kane kidnap him too?

Oh totally, this is the downside of them being a public company. You have to justify these expenses, but I tend to feel like if your investing in WWE you must be some kind of a fan of the product. So you should have at least some understanding of the fact that you cannot just create a Steve Austin out of the blocks. He has to be built, he has to be groomed.

Speaking of which, I am intrigued by the SD! main event for Unforgiven based on the participants, if booked correctly this could help some guys if not break that glass ceiling, but bang their heads against it pretty damn hard, cause some cracks. I'm not exactly in love with the concept (especially on the RAW side given how most everyone involved here is either already over like a mother, or sucks the dick and is screwed...and then there's Punk), but there really is potential here that if done right you can get multiple people over here and get them to look like "they could be the champ".

The way they "introduced" Colon is a good indication of how he will fare in WWE. Written off before he even has a chance. Too bad, I heard he was a decent wrestler too.

Yeah, but the other thing is Colin did not have a great look, and like it or lump it, you have to have a certain look to you. This isn't ECW (and I say that with the utmost respect and love for those crazy fuckers, you all know that), this isn't ROH, it's not just work at this level, it's work, it's promos it's look. It's all those things, and if a guy can't bring that, what's the point? I think Delaney maybe could have meant more, but this is a guy that just by looking at him, we knew he had a plateau I believe.

I thought Noble and Regal were going to have some kind of a fued. What happend to Regal? Did Kane kidnap him too?

Regal is on strike 2...after being released prior to the instating of the Wellness Policy for drug issues...not being somebody viewed as a player (like Jeff Hardy, in a similar boat)...being older...having begged for his last push, and them giving it to him when he knew he was using something the test would trip to...lemme ask you, is that a guy you really feel is a priority to give precious TV time to? Really? Guy can help groom your young talent, but his continued personal issues make him unreliable and keep him from finding a niche really. In short, Regal has put himself at the back of the line because of his own stupidity, and it may or may not be possible for him to move back up the ladder.

When is Braden Walker coming back to the WWECW. I truly hope they don't job or bury Killings in 2.9 I envision us and ecw champion reigns (not really but damn if the bookers screw him over).
Being a former TNA talent I can assume he will some how be released as soon as he fails a drug test, creative gives a kayfabe career ending injury, roster cuts, or is forced into early retirement.

Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

Braden Walker got fired so he isn't coming back.

As for Killings, I think WWE is willing to push the guy amd i hope they do. He's an awesoem worker and great on the mic. It will be interesting to see who he ends up in a fued with first.

Yep, from what they're saying apparently the "New Talent Intiative" is they're way of figuring out if you'll ever be worth a crap at the main level, and I think that's a good idea. If a guy sucks as bad as Harris did out of the blocks, you just drop his ass and never mention him again and who cares?

Looks to me like he's going to at least get an oppurtunity on SD!, although with that gimmick...

When posting information like that, it would be helpful if you provide a source. It lends a little bit more credibility to it. I could say that Cena makes 2.5 million a week, and I just made it up. But if I posted that statement with a credible source, or, even better many sources, then its more believeable.

I don't mean to nitpick. I'm taking Journalism classes right now so I'm in that head space. If there is no source it makes it hard to believe.

I think that they saved the best for the last. Edge and Taker had an amazing match. Credits to Edge, he was superb in his first cell match. I like the way how he sold the co-chair shot.

SD was ok last night. I can't believe they have Kendrick in the title match. I bet Big Show will come after him to try and take his spot.

They Finley/Benjamin match was just awesome. Best match of the night, with the MVP bout not too far behind. I have to admit I thought it was silly hearing Taker sau he wanted Viki's soul. I laughed at it too. But hey it was good seeing Taker back on SD so I can't complain too much.

This is a chance to create three more main event level players; let's see if Creative do it right.

I think that Big Show should take Kendrick's spot. Sure that the company is pushing Kendrick, but this guy was a low-mid carder before the push and now he is in the WWE title match? Plus he is yet to beat any big name superstar. It is more believable if the company throws him in the U.S title picture.

Or at the least, elevate them in the mid-card. If the idea is to just focus on H and Hardy...then fuck the gimmick, just do H and Hardy, that'd draw, but I imagine they want that on a bigger show. Still, use the gimmick to your advantage here and let everyone shine.

It will be an interesting match, though I am not a fan of them doing it twice in the same show. I'm more interested in the SD match since it has far more mid-card guys than the Raw brand one.

R-Truth debuts next week so I'm looking forward to that too.

Im not so sure about kendrick in the title match. I think his transition to jobber to world title contender was WAY to fast! Hopefully he can prove me wrong when I watch him at unforgiven.

Also I think shelton benjamin would be a cool champion with both WWE title and US title fitting his gold standard gimmick very well.

I just think that there is really no one on the roster with the talent to be able to carry the title other then HHH.
It could end up a really long reign if no star power is found to have a decent believable feud with him.

I think the scramble will help continue the mvp v hardy line, which is good.

I certainly don't want to see Show going for the title, HHH v show.. its been done.
But it might be the only way to go after this PPV.

Unless they have Hardy against H one on one in the next a couple of PPVs. But considering that Jeff has got two strikes against him, I doubt that he will be in the title match by himself this year.

official raw preview

On Raw, General Manager Mike Adamle instituted a "Championship Scramble," a 20-minute match for the World Heavyweight Title at Unforgiven between champion CM Punk, John Cena, Batista, Kane and JBL. The night's show saw each of those Superstars except for Punk win a match. With so many determined competitors in the mix, will they be able to contain their ambition in the scant weeks leading up to Unforgiven?

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk's aforementioned loss was suffered at the hands of the ruthless Chris Jericho, fresh off an accidental attack on the wife of his rival, Shawn Michaels. The first-ever Undisputed Champion has urged HBK to remain at home and comfort his family, but directly after his wife was laid out by Jericho, The Showstopper seemed to have something else in mind. Michaels gave up his career at SummerSlam %uFFFD%uFFFD" after the assault on his wife, will he still follow his doctor's orders? Or will Jericho find himself on the receiving end of some retaliatory Sweet Chin Music?

Last week on Raw, it was revealed that Kane's burlap sack contained Rey Mysterio's mask. This week, Kane explained how he brutally assaulted the Ultimate Underdog and stole his mask. Following the revelation, Mysterio's former tag team partner and good friend Batista rushed to the ring and attacked Kane, who managed to get the upper hand over The Animal due to his injured leg. What is the condition of Rey Mysterio, and will the rivalry between Batista and Kane spill over into their Championship Scramble?

For the answers to these questions and more, watch Monday Night Raw live at its regular time of 9/8 CT, this Monday on Sci Fi Channel - for one night only. Or catch the action at 11/10 CT on USA Network.

One thing both matches now have going for it is that Pat Patterson is going to book them according to JR. Pat created the Royal Rumble and has booked every one of them (I think) so that does make me feel more like we're going to see a match where everyone looks good on both sides.

I thought Patterson was done with WWE. When did he come back? That is good news if its true, since he is good at booking a match with several people involved.

Is anyone really looking forward to a Kane/Rey Mysterio fued? Yeah..I'm not. I'd rather see Rey put in a fued with someone like Jericho, or even CM Punk. A match where Cole won't remind us every two seconds that Rey is an underdog. A match with Kane will just be them going "look how small he is, he's the biggest little man!"

I'd rather him be in a competitive fued, so a guy like jericho would fit the bill nicely.

I know this is really off topic, but I like JR. I like Big Show. I hate it when JR calls a Big Show match. The entire time he's out there JR gives us his measurments. I don't care what his ring size is. I understand the man is big. It's part of his name! I get it! Stop with the useless info!!!!
