[News Update] Chris Jericho Comments On WWE Return

London's Daily Star newspaper recently interviewed Chris Jericho and asked him to address the rumors of a return to WWE.

Here's what Chris Jericho said about returning to WWE:

You never know. I did it before and I can do it again. I've been gone for two years and that's a lifetime in wrestling. I seem to be caught in a controversial buzz at the moment. I'm a little confused as there's a lot of speculation but as always in these situations I'm the last to know.

These stories seem to swim around every three to four months since I left WWE. It's good to know fans are bringing my name up - there's nothing wrong with people talking about Chris Jericho. I always said if I were to go back I would only go if I could make a difference and be better than ever.

I don't have to come back at all, certainly not financially. I want to have some fun, be different and be better. I walked away on my own terms, so it's good to see I still have as much leeway two years later.

To be honest, I am pissed off that Kennedy got pinned cleanly. Isn't he supposed to be the next big deal? I am sick and tired of Vince burying talents.

Everyone Dave Scherer has spoken with in WWE says it's a done deal, Jericho is back, and is in likelihood viral man (unless they decide to pull a swerve and put this on the new Hart Foundation as was the original Curt Bauer suggestion before he left). I don't blame Jericho for playing it this way though, the idea that he might return is creating a ton of buzz around him and WWE at the moment, and WWE loves to have their surprises. I expect they'll let the cat out of the bag come Cyber Sunday if not a little sooner.

Quick Diva Search rant:

Why the fuck would anyone wanna vote in, or pay attention to any of this crap? I mean, they just give all these chicks deals anyway, the winner just gets a little more money. So what does any of it matter?

Just had to put that out there, I'll stop now. In the interest of not being completely negative, I think ECW on Sci Fi has been enjoyable so far. I like that they had Dreamer and V go at it again, even though the result was never in doubt. I think that could be a decent little feud when V and Punk get finished. The Miz/Balls angle lacks in some respects for me just because it was something TNA has already basically done. But I am glad of Balls getting a push because I think he has always been underrated and deserves this oppurtunity, and I guess as long as the fans are happy and the matches are good, that's all that matters.

Morrison vs. Punk interests me because it looks for all the world to me like this may be a public de-emphasizing of Morrison to a degree, which I think should happen to a degree. The guy fucked up hard in a situation where the company dosen't need their guys failing Wellness Tests. Keep him at or near the top by all means, but push and give the title to guys like Punk or V who are working hard to produce and are not taking short cuts or doing things to embarrass the company (that we know about anyway).

With any luck, they'll face each other again and have Kennedy win. They could have a back and forth feud which would climax in a match for the IC title. Maybe a ladder match. Kennedy is already built up enough to be a main eventer, so I can see him losing the feud and moving on to bigger things. This is a good feud to start building up Jeff as well.

I agree that ECW was solid tonight, but it still lacks something, namely time. WWE has been trying to keep guys like Thorn, Knox, Burke, Boogey and even Stevie in the public eye while they have the title fued going and any other side story they have. They simply do not have enough time to fit all these guys on the show. If they could get another hour they could still feature Punk, Morrison, BDV, and Dreamer as well as the side story of Balls/Miz while also developing an undercard. Shame we won't get that extra time.

These heel votes don't really work. Fans aren't going to vote for the person who has the most heat, not if the heel did his job well. It'll probably be Miz getting into the match, because the fans see him as easy target for Punk.
I dunno whether to vote for Morrison or the Walking Refrigerator.

A bit of news that made me smile... Credit:The Wrestling Observer

"TVN and DISH network have both stated that Respect is Earned had higher buyrates than any TNA ppv this year."

And TNA is the second biggest promotion in the States? ROH! ROH! ROH!

And some more news that made me happy... IN THE PANTS!!!

Former WWE diva Shelly Martinez (best known as Ariel in ECW) will be starting TNA this Sunday at Bound For Glory.

In a rather interesting note, Martinez will be shooting a porn movie in Los Angeles this week though Platinum Jewel. This company is owned by Jewel De'Nyle. De'Nyle has her own connections to pro wrestling as she managed Jamie Dundee on a show recently in Elk Grove, IL.

And last but definitely not least, TNA has signed yet another for WWE wrestler.

It has been reported that former WWE Superstar, Cup of Coffee, has come to terms on a 4-year deal with TNA Wrestling. Cup of Coffee was released from WWE back in 2006 after a backstage altercation with long-time WWE veteran, Table.

Cup of Coffee will be reportedly making upwards of seven figures, making him one of the highest paid TNA stars ever. Due to copyright infringement, however, Cup of Coffee will likely be going under a different name. Cup of Coffee has recently appeared on a number of talk shows and wrestling radio shows and has been using the name Cup of Tea James, so this will likely be the name he is known as in TNA. There is no set date, but he is scheduled to make his appearance in the Impact Zone sometime in the next few weeks.

One of the above statements is not true... Guess which one it is?

If you're a fan of CM Punk, then vote for The Miz!

If Punk goes against Morrison, he'll probably drop the title, but if its Punk vs The Miz there's a good chance there won't be a title switch.

I know I said earlier I was voting for Morrison, but I don't want Punk to drop the belt so soon. Vote for THE MIZ! A vote for Miz is a vote for Punk!

I'd vote for Miz just so we got some match variety. That and I think Miz has made leaps and bounds in his match quality. Some of you may disagree but I think Miz is a great character, one I actually want to see in the ring.

Miz has no business in the Main Event of ANY brand. They should have chosen Thorn or Burke here for the third spot. I think Morrison will get the vote here.

I voted for Morrison, too! Among the three, (Big Daddy V, The Miz, John Morrison), Morrison is the perfect opponent for Punk!

I'll give it a shot... The show is called: This is Pro Wrestling. The purpose is to put on a show that shows what pro wrestling is about. I don't know if we can do it, but I intend to include wrestlers in their prime (Flair and Kobashi) aswell as wrestlers that are no longer among us (Eddie and Rey). I'll just post the matches I have so far.

Match Number #1 (Battle of the wrestling Icons.. and a whole lot of CHOPS!)

Ric Flair vs Kenta Kobashi. The story for the match is simple enough. Both men have been at their top of the game and are arguably the biggest stars in their countries (Flair in the US and Kobashi in Japan). Ric Flair is cutting a promo and basically hyping himself up when he brings up Kobashi's name and claim that he is nothing until he beats Ric Flair. The message reaches Kobashi who challenges Ric Flair to a match between the two.

No BS, no over the top storylines, just two legends duking it out to find who truly is the best. I still don't have the full build-up done, so I won't post it.... yet.

Match Number 2!

Samoa Joe vs John Cena (Good Friends, Better Enemies)

This match happens simply out of jealousy. Samoa Joe trained with John Cena and is a friend of his in real life (This would be mention during a Joe promo) and he's tired of being missused elsewhere (TNA) despite being one of the best wrestlers in the world. Meanwhile, he's had to sit back and watch John Cena, a man who isn't known for his great wrestling abilities be on top of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world (WWE).

Joe says he's tired of seeing someone like Cena on top, when it someone like him should be in that position. In the weeks leading up to the event, both Cena and Joe would wrestle people from each other's paths (Cena vs Low-Ki or vs Homicide) (Joe vs Punk or Daniels). The week before the show we have the ONLY physical altercation between the two outside of their match. Both men stand face-to-face and without warning Joe head-butts Cena busting him open. Joe goes for a Musclebuster but Cena counters into the FU.

The last image between Joe and Cena prior to their match would be a bloody Cena standing over a fallen Samoa Joe.

Match Number 3!

Bryan Danielson vs HBK (Teacher vs The Student)

This feud starts in a vey simple way... Danielson and Michaels are teaming up against HHH and Batista, and during the match there's some miscommunication between Shawn and Bryan. HBK is getting beat down and makes the tag to Danielson, who turns on HBK by Super-Kicking him. The match is declared a no-contest, Batista and HHH leave... but Danielson isn't done. He goes toward Shawn and hits him with MMA elbows until Michaels passes out. Danielson grabs the mic and tells Shawn, that's he tired of having to follow Shawn's footsteps, and declares that it is time for the old teacher to retire, and the young student to rise up and take over.

For the next couple of weeks we don't see HBK, except for a couple of teasers. Danielson pays it no mind, until he's in a match and on the verge of winning. Just then there's a commotion in the crowd, and out comes HBK like a house of fire just whaling on Danielson until he escapes up the ramp.

Michaels grabs the mic and says... You call me old? Well, sonny boy, guess what? This old guy still has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, and The Showstopper has every intention of showing them to you. You want to cheap-shot me and take me out? Well, here's what's going to happen. In two weeks there will be an even called This is Pro Wrestling, and it seems to me that neither of us have anything to do! So how about the "teacher" takes on the student". Danielson accepts the match but with one condition.... It has to be an Ironman match.

Danielson says, that he knows he can beat Michaels in a singles match, but he wants to beat Shawn for 30 minutes and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the student has indeed surpassed the student.

I have a couple of other matches, but since I've been doing this on the fly I haven't been able to come up with any build, those matches include:

Terry Funk vs Necro Butcher vs Cactus Jack (Hardcore Match)
The Briscoes vs The Hardys vs MCMG vs ???

And a couple of other matches that I will not reveal just yet... I will say this, a lot of big names will be left out, but with the pool of talent available that's almost guaranteed to happen.

My name is pepeatumi... But you already knew that!

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-10-11 14:33:07

So do you have to include the results of the matches in your post?

Then I'm out.... That takes away a couple of matches, including the one that was going to have the longest build-up, and it also makes Kobashi vs Flair go from a great match to nothing more than a novelty match.

So much for the new Hart Foundation. Such a shame too as I was actually looking forward to seeing what they could do. True they can still bring in the others to the roster but they wil be missing one of the key players in it, at least in name. Casual fans probably won't know or care so I guess it doesn't make much difference.

Miz is the only guy in this they WON'T put the belt on and it would be a neat test of if they will do actual results if a poll dosen't run the way they set it up to run.

I like Red's idea of booking a PPV card, but if thet last WWE game I played taught me anything, it showed I wasn't as good at booking and matchmaking as I once thought. Course the game was weird in that even if you took a jobber and had him win a lot, no matter who it was the rating would start to go up.

This seems semi-interesting.

Ripped from Rajah.com:

Source: PWInsider

Academy Award winner and Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage is currently in negotiations to star in a movie about the pro wrestling industry, currently titled "The Wrestler."

Here's a synopsis of the project from the Entertainment Trade Journal:

"The movie tells the story of Randy ''The Ram'' Robinson, a 1980s-era pro wrestler who has become a burnt-out shell of his former self. After he has a heart attack during a small-time match, a doctor tells him he could die if he fights again. He moves in with an aging stripper and takes a job at a deli, but then decides he can't pass up an opportunity to return to the ring and fight his old nemesis, even if it means risking his life."

Its bad enough that Nicolas Cage somehow managed to suck as Ghost Rider (Who the hell can you even do that?) but for him to now portray a pro wrestler? It already sounds terrible.... And I'll still watch it more than likely >_>

Well, that's a situation where they're trying to allow you to realistically show advancement. Which is hard to do in a worked sport where your in ring ability has little to do with your push, and wins and losses don't really matter all that much in that consideration also.

Not like they can simulate a glass ceiling, or the guy with the best promo gets the nod, or any of the other crazy crap that happens in wrestling.

If you guys want to play a game in which you can actually book matches and feud, try to find and download EWR. It features pretty much everyone on any roster (WWE, TNA, CZW, ROH) and you can also update the rosters with the current wrestlers.... You can also get some weird (and funny) results every once in a while.

I had to fire CM Punk because he.... Admitted publically that he was an alcoholic (lol). I also got a message saying that people are finding John Cena to be stale. So its pretty realistic in some ways. Only downside is that there's no actual wrestling. Just the booking, signing, pushing talent aspect of the business.
