NWA has officially ended its working relationship with TNA Wrestling, which has existed since 2002. There have been reports for months that the partnership was coming to an end. TNA recently had new TNA World, Tag Team and X-Division title belts created. It is expected they will be introduced at this week's television tapings.

Which is why we got a screwy ending in that match.... Angle had Sting in the Anklelock, who was pinning Christian with a schoolboy pin. Sting tapped out before the three count and Angle was given the title... It wouldn't surprise me if they vacate the title and have the winner of the King Of The Mountain win the new TNA title... Hopefully it will be Joe.

And Angle winning was probably done to add Kurt's name to the lineage of the NWA title.... Which would mean another notch in Angle's belt.

Agreed, the finish was fucky so all those guys can be seeded into that match and we can have a definite "TNA World Champion".

I don't think so, honestly, the NWA name means nothing at this point and if ECW hadn't tried to build the belt up so they could throw it down and give meaning to their own World title, nobody in this generation would know or care about the NWA. It's all high school gymnasium shows at this point, and people who are marks for that belt think it matters. I think this was purely for TNA to spotlight the new belt, and the fact that they are creating a TNA World belt without really acknowledging the change from the worthless albatross that the NWA name was.

kk, wait NWA=ni****s with attitude?

anyway im still pissed about edge, but i can almost taste a benoit/edge feud coming up in a month or two

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-05-15 11:02:50

A Benoit/Edge fued would be awesome. We would get some really great matches out of those two.

Raw was ok, though not the best I've seen. Too much filler for my taste and not enough solid matches. the Hardy match and the main event were the standouts for me.

i know exactly what you're talking about, a totaly dirty guy VS a totaly clean guy. but i still think benoit will find some way around edge's "knock out the ref and go straight for under the ring" tactics.

Former ECW World champion Sabu is gone from World Wrestling Entertainment, according to several sources. Sabu arrived hours late for tonight's scheduled Smackdown/ECW taping in Baltimore, Maryland and didn't even have his ring gear with him. I am told he was sent home from the taping and has been/will be released by the company.

Sabu, one of the trendsetters of the original Extreme Championship Wrestling, signed with WWE a year ago as part of the re-launched ECW brand. Sabu received a big push early in the brand's run, including challenging ECW champion Big Show at last year's Summerslam PPV before being deemphasized as a focal point.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took this long for Sabu to get released.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took this long for Sabu to get released.

Agreed, he's been depushed a lot over the last few months, and he was definitely just becoming a pain in the company's ass, he was basically looking to get fired and he got his wish. Really hard to feel bad for Sabu here as it seems to me this is what he really wanted, and I have no doubt he'll be fine on the indies when his no-compete expires.

I liked Sabu, he has great talent in the ring, but they didn't seem to be doing much with him, especially in the last few months.

I think the WWE has too many people on there rosters and nothing to do with them. If they would take out a lot of the filler they have and put in a few more matches they wouldn't have to release people all the time because they don't have anything to do with them.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-05-16 12:16:25

Sabu really could have done a lot better in WWE, but things just didn't pan out that way.. Damn.

Vito getting fired doesn't surprise me at all. I honestly though it was going to be a lot sooner than later.

You know who I'd like to see, especially now with HHH, Taker, and Kennedy out with injuries, RVD leaving, and the always shakey situation with Orton? Jericho. He would do the WWE wonders if he made a comeback now. That would be somethign I'd really want to see, and it would be great to have him back in the mix.

I think Jericho will ultimately be back. A lot of his outside projects haven't really payed off for him like he's wanted, but I highly doubt Jericho will be back full-time if he dosen't absolutely need to be a full-time performer. He's had lots of problems with the WWE glass ceiling, and at this point his best bet is to play TNA and WWE against one another (perhaps even ROH could be riled into this too if they're a player by the time Jericho decides he's ready to get back into the business) and grab the best part time deal he can possibly get for himself.

from wrestlezone.com:

Bryan Alvarez of f4wonline.com is reporting that Shane Helms has a major neck injury, perhaps a break.

He apparently saw Dr. Lloyd Youngblood today and may be the next person in line for fusion surgery.

Damn. I hope this is just a rumor, and that Helms is ok.

Haven't heard of a Helms injury yet, so I dunno if it's rumor or not.

What I HAVE heard is that Vince will be facing Lashley at ONS, so expect "Tuesday's with Vinnie" to continue, and I fully expect now he'll keep the belt on himself just because he can.

I just saw that, and I'm surprised that they actually fired Scotty. That guy has been with the company a long long time. So if they are firing him, the rest of the undercard must be freaking out.

and yes that report about Helms is true. Poor guy has a broken neck and will be out a year. Best of luck to him and a speedy recovery.

WWE has released developmental diva Angel Williams. She was most recently working in OVW. Williams was expected to be brought up to the main roster several times, but things never worked out.

I'd like to formally join the club, since I simply LOVE watching a good wrestling match.

Sadly, since I live in Italy, I've had to cut back on the amount of WWE I usually watch...'cause the fellows that comment on the match over here are complete morons. They're NOTHING like the american dudes that scream and yell and make the whole thing about 10 times more entertaining :D

At any rate, I realize that this is probably ancient news by now, but does anyone know why Kurt Angle left the WWE? I was rooting for him to become one of the "good guys", like he was a few years back, when he was fighting Stone Cold and guys like that...(gawd, I remember when he fought Steve Austin and like 2 other guys all by himself, with a twisted ankle...he rocked, when he was a "good guy").

Pure awesomeness. You must read it.

just post again and we'll make it official. and periodPops, all you need is to ask and we'll add you in too. Nothing against you guys but it helps to know who will come back and post.

There were so many reasons floating around as to why Kurt is not in WWE anymore that I've lost sight of the real deal. So uh.. I'm not sure.

SD was very good tonight. A solid card and an Ozzy song. The opener with Hardy and MVP was excellent, and so was the six man tag. Benoit and Finley had a good match as well and a thankfully short Henry Match.

Right, right. I've got the same problem in the Star Wars thread, to be honest.

So here's my second post, at any rate.

Anyhow, I heard John Cena got Punk'd a while back...is that true? What did he do, tear up the cameras and kill Kutcher? :D

Actually, Cena looked ok after getting Punk'd. He laughed it off and basically had fun with it.

As for Angle... He became addicted to painkillers (among other things) got released, is wrestling with TNA, and we're pretty sure he's crazy.

Triple H on Punk'd was by far the greatest. The Rock was good too because he was going to kick some ass.

That sucks for Scotty. He was always one of my favorites. The WWE didn't seem to realize how much the crowd loved him. There should have been a 2 Cool reunion.

Nick Mitchell is no surprise, I think you're going to see basically everyone who was Spirit Squad released eventually.

Scotty is frankly a shock, I thought he had a job for life after all the years he's been there with the start stop pushes and whatever else. I hope he's saved his money, but I'm sure he'll do fine on the indies with comedy appearances and what not.

Ariel I hear is because she got in a fight with Batista (a verbal one), which was really not her being a bitch from what I've heard, and Steph dosen't like her look. Plus, she was a Paul Heyman project and hire, so that dosen't help her either since Steph hates Paul and everything he's about. I know I used to joke a lot about Ariel being dirty hot when I did ECW Report Cards (though truly she was) but I really felt she had a great look, very hot girl, and unlike these cookie cutter divas who basically just stand at ringside and do nothing, Ariel would slap the ring, scream, yell, encourage her man, and look like she actually gave a shit about the guy she was out there with. I thought there was a lot of untapped potential in her and Thorn's act and sadly we're never going to see if it could have been realized or not now. That release really pisses me off.

With crappy main events like the Cena/GK match and the McMahon ego fest, I can't imagine Judgment ay doing that well in PPV buys. The poor saps who buy their tickets in advance must be thrilled too.

Don't forget the Edge/Batista title match, which will probably be about 2nd on the card, because 'something needs to go there'.

Good predictions right up until that last one. I'd take Cena over GK any day.

It seems HBK is dealing with a bad knee and if it gets worse will have to get surgery.

He has been for the last year, he didn't want to get surgery because of the whole DX thing, but I think it's a situation where in a couple months or so if HBK wanted to he could be cycled off the show and get that surgery. But I've heard basically he's just gonna keep gutting it out till he can't work on it anymore.

Cannot agree more. The last PPV that I bought was RR 2006, only watching Cena getting the title after Edge had stolen it at NYR. Believe me, as long as we can still see the spinning title, Cena will simply own the division. Vince is making it too obvious.

It's not just matches being obvious, its the fact that they are presenting matches that no one wants to see. If all they present if garbage, then they should get lousy buys just to prove the point. Course they will just fire more undercard guys and call it even.
