I don't think he'd win if he was in the rumble but a good showing would be great. I sure hope Raw is good tonight.

Kurt Angle is going to be wrestling on New Japan Pro Wrestling's February 18th show. Read below for the whole story.

Source: puroresufan.com

Yomiuri Sports reveals this morning that New Japan has succeeded in acquiring the "super-important foreigner" that Simon Inoki promised after the 1/4 Tokyo Dome show. Former Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle, is set to make his New Japan debut on 2/18 at Sumo Hall after Yomiuri reported that an agreement has been reached between the sides. This will be Angle's first match ever for a Japanese promotion. and unsurprisingly former Japanese amateur wrestling stars Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi have surfaced as possible opponents for him. Angle was scheduled to appear on the 1/4 Tokyo Dome show, with Yuji Nagata & Shinsuke Nakamura both top candidates to face him, but there was a scheduling conflict so it had to be delayed. Yomiuri said this was part of New Japan (finally) making the best use of it's working agreement with TNA, and President Simon Inoki said this was one of what he hoped would be many dream matches set up in New Japan's 35th anniversary year. Simon also hinted at further foreign participation on the show, as New Japan continues to build on it's momentum.

Hopefully that wicked concussion he got last night is all healed up by then, though he was doing appearances today and showed no ill effects, so I assume that means he's all good to go. Wow, WWE blows yet another golden oppurtunity by having Michaels just be superman rather then giving him some help, I hope ultimately this is a situation where Michaels is eventually forced to get a partner to help him, because the rub from being in DX could really benefit somebody up and coming, and building new stars up is precisely what WWE really needs to do right now. The Triple H injury should be a wake up call that the guys they have been relying on certainly aren't getting any younger or healthier, so it's time to start really throwing some stuff against the wall, and seeing what sticks. The future begins today and all that. Hopefully they figure that out before it's too late.

The way Raw ended, it looked like it could have been the end of Rated RKO the way Michaels gave Randy Orton such a beating like that all by himself. DX still lives? so then the question is.... Who should join and become the new DX?

Here are my possible choices...

Jeff Hardy.. the guy is extreme
Kenny Dykstra... but he would have to kiss and make up with Rick Flair. lol
Gregory Helms... he's proven himself, speaks well, and he has youth.
Matt Hardy... also extreme
MVP... maybe this would help him get out of that power ranger suit.
The Miz.... he can talk well.
CM PUNK!!!

I just don't see it happening for anyone else though. :P
What do you think?

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-01-16 07:00:23

4 of those you mentioned are heels though. It wouldn't make too much sense to add a heel to DX to fight two other heels. Though if they were inducted they would be cheered for eventually. But none of those to me seem like they are candidates for DX.

That segment with Vince.. Wow. He stated on live tv what we have been screaming for: Vince has no idea what we want, and we are tired of stupid skits and we want wrestling! Not too thrilled with how they are just doing everything wrong with Carlito, but hopefully this will turn into a positive. I really don't want to see Carlito be the guy they make job to Khali.

I sure hope not. He is still involved with his fued with Umaga so I doubt they will tie those two storylines together. Though with Randy getting beaten like that they may break up the Rated RKO team sooner and let those two either fued with each other or go their separate ways. We've seen Edge vs. Cena so maybe WWE could do Orton vs. Cena.

I think it's likely that they'll put Flair in DX as Trip's replacement. He's been hanging around with DX recently, and they've been showing him loads of respect. And he's the dirtiest player in the game, he doesn't give a fuck about authority. Plus, it will be just disappointing enough to be worthy of WWE TV.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-01-16 16:46:15

I think Shawn will play the lone wolf for a few weeks, but will eventually be forced to pick a new partner. I'd like to see either of the Hardy's fill the role, since they are both in need of career pushes. Carlito is another top pick, I hope he doesn't get caught in a feud with Khali. CM Punk could make a jump since the ECW ship is crashing and staying on might be bad for one's career.

All the names I listed are all young and potential greats. They also have a rebelious edge to them, which would fit right in for DX.

So, Lordkooler, When does WSX premier again? I saw a preview this morning along with a Preveiw of the New Road Rules (SHA!) and it looked pretty cool.

I Can't wait to see New Jack in action.

It airs on January 30th at 10:30 Eastern Time... And with guys like Colt Cabana, Jack Evans, The Human Tornado and Teddy Hart, how can it not look cool?

I have some more news on Kurt Angle's participation on the February 18th New Japan Pro Wrestling Sumo Hall show.

Source: puroresufan.com

President Simon Inoki gave an interview today to discuss what is now Kurt Angle's official participation on the 2/18 Sumo Hall show. Simon is glad he's finally been able to acquire Angle's services, after negotiating with him since November. Simon said that Angle is very interested in the pro wrestling of Japan, especially former amateur stars like Yuji Nagata, Manabu Nakanishi, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Simon believes a tag match will be set up (well, thankfully it's not a three way dance this time!), and is expecting many New Japan wrestlers to introduce themselves as candidate. Naigai Times says Nagata & Nakanishi may both be involved in it, which isn't too surprising. Simon promised that New Japan will think carefully about this match, as they want to satisfy the fans and give Angle a suitable podium on which to show his ability. Simon also announced that he's considering dispatching wrestlers to TNA again in exchange, so long as they are interested in using Japanese talent.

I'm not expecting New Jack to last long in WSX, so I didn't include him. And despite having a chance to see him perform before, I can't say that I'm a big fan.

Let's be honest here.... New Jack isn't exactly the best wrestler around, that's why I don't like him.

So who can't wait for the Royal Rumble?
This is my favorite pay per view for the whole year since you never know.
It was disapointing last year since Rey won.
I'm hoping somebody wins a second time this year, too bad Batista isn't in the Rumble :P.

Yeah, what an auspicious debut that was. I love how everybody comes into ECW these days talking about "no rules fighting" and "getting extreme" and "doing whatever they want". Guys, this is the brand where they dq you over not breaking fast enough.

I'm just mortified with anything they do these days and it seems obvious now RVD is out of the three way feud and it'll now be Test vs. Lashley at Royal Rumble. Yep, that's just like our good old ECW Arena main events folks! Oh shit...it looks like WWE legal has sent me a letter.

I know, you'd think they would have at least hyped him up with some videos, but not even that. And to make it worse, he squashed Cassidy Riley... It was a TNA match on "ECW".

Quite Frankly, I'd rather see Test as the ECW champ. Lashley showed just how green he still is on various spots in the match. It looks like Test has actually tried to improve while Lashley has actually regressed in the ring since coming to... that show on Tuesdays.

I can't wait till WSX debuts.

XD... that show on Tuesdays. Classic
Anyways EC... I mean that show on Tuesdays has really plumeted since Big Shows loss. I was hoping they would have Big Show hold that for at least 8 months showing that there are better plots. Anyways to me right now for WWE from best show to worst it seems like... Smackdown, Raw and last, but least Tuesday.

That show has constantly been suffering from a situation of "the guy we really wanted to push is hurt, now what?" plus, Vince is just treating this like just another hour of TV to put out there, and pushing whatever meatheads he wants on the show. I'm not sure Lashley is getting worse though as much as it's just a situation of a very bright light being shined on someone who's still trying to improve and get his act together, it's exactly what I was afraid of, Vince is hurting this guy by pushing him to the top before he's ready. The whole "brand" is a complete joke at this point as all the guys the fans have shown any interest in are now doing jobs for the people they want them to get over. ECW's dead except for video tape, and thank God I can still lay my hands on that.

So they debutd Brown with no hype at all? Wow that sucks.

As for RVD, he's made it very clear that once his contract is up he will more than likely jump over to TNA. Sure it's not written in stone as things can change but I don't think WWE is brave enough to give him back the title and chance him leaving to TNA.

He's not even called Monty Brown (even though its his name) he's called Marquis Cor Von... seriously. He still does the Pouuuuunce! But his actual finisher is a russian-leg sweep to armbar combination. And it wasn't actualy called the Pounce, it has no name...for now. The two good things were that he's still called The Alpha Male and that he sounded more human in his promo.

As for RVD, he's made it very clear that once his contract is up he will more than likely jump over to TNA. Sure it's not written in stone as things can change but I don't think WWE is brave enough to give him back the title and chance him leaving to TNA.

They'll probably give him a ttile run to try to convince him to stay... But I still think he'll leave for TNA when his contract is up.

And from now that show on Tuesdays will be reffered to me as.... That show on Tuesdays. I refuse to use those three letters which represent the things that were right with wrestling once upon a time.
