Dude you have blatantly gone againt what Aview told us about WWE footage. Old WCW footage is owned by WWE, so no more youtube or other video stuff for WWE, WCW, or ECW unless it comes directly from WWE.com ok? I'm sure you don't want this club to be shut down so please at least go along with this one.

wow and the car wasn't even that nice. That's like the worst so far of all the superstar crimes.

So on tv did they censor the divas? Because on the videos online it was censored.

Considering that they haven't really done anything with him, yeah I think it's safe to say his wwe run is done. I could be wrong but if wwe is willing to fire a guy like Kid Kash due to his attitude, they would have no second thoughts to firing a guy who stole a car.

So you have a friend who is in the biz huh? ok here is my first question.
Q: How long was his training to become a ref? I do know that refs and wrestlers all start out the same in learning how to take a bump as the ref is part of the show.

I will definitely ask him about this either tommorow, or the next time I see him, what I'll probably do is put these on a list, then ask him and get it all over with at once...and double check that he's comfortable answering this stuff : p

on a related note
Q: Ever consider doing it yourself?

I did for a very brief period in high school. I never considered being a wrestler because I'm no athlete, and could never deal with the physical wear and tear, but I did consider being a manager briefly, but the sad fact is that managers aren't really used very much at the big league level. Since this was a situation where I would basically have to choose between doing something on a weekend and potentially endangering whatever job I was at, and ya know, making good money trying to pursue my other love of comic books, the comic books won out.

ok now a broader one:
Q: Who do you think should be in the running for the ECW title other than RVD and Sabu?

Are we talking about right now? Or in the future? Right now, I don't think there's anyone who is ready to break into that level. Sandman and Dreamer are mascot type guys, I know, I know, that's gonna be blasphemy to some folks. But it's also fact, those guys were never great in ring technicians, they were good promo guys though, and while you can push them hard at the small level ECW originally worked at, a big company like what Vince has is not conducive to really giving them the ball. If we're talking the future, CM Punk easily will be in the title hunt sooner rather then later...most people feel Royal Rumble, I agree only if Punk is given a big type of match to break out before then. Punk has all the tools, and the fans definitely love him, but I think for Punk to hit that "next level" he has got to be placed into a situation where he can prove to the casual folks who give not a piss about workrate and things like that, that he is a main level guy. Survivor Series could be that moment for him, as it certainly was for Shawn Michaels during his "Rockers" days. I also think there's a good possibility Test if used right and protected could get there.

Hardcore Holly is someone who is mixed for me, I know some old schoolers who won't accept Holly as champ right now, I might...actually, I think what would happen is that I'd like it for a month or so, then I'd go "ok, ya know what? Fuck this" and I think that would happen to a lot of folks right now, so I think Holly is somebody that if we get into some kind of emergency like what happened with RVD, you can flip the belt to him fast and it would work, but he will mean more down the line if he's maybe the second, or third guy to hold it after Big Show drops it. That's how I see the title picture right now.

Do you see CM Punk being moved to either Raw or Smackdown if his popularity contnues to increase on ECW? Or do you see Heyman doing whatever he can to make sure that Punk is ECW's top star of the future?

Do I see it happening? Well, let me answer it like this:

Do I see a possibility? Yes, I think it is always possible that any wrestler who attains real and true popularity has the possibility of being sent to at least RAW.

Do I really see this as something that an ECW fan who likes Punk has to worry about? No. Punk would have to really get over with Vince here, because he is not over with Steph. I don't think Punk is anywhere near what Vince likes, I think he is someone that pops Heyman, and that Heyman will really fight to keep, as Heyman has said in several interviews CM Punk is the first ECW branded star of the new company. If Heyman has any real say so, and it really seems to me he must, since the ECW brand has largely been a much different show then the other two, and reminds me very much of at the least, the way Paul Heyman's tenure on SD! looked, I do not believe he will allow CM Punk to leave.

So in summation, never say never, but I just don't see CM Punk being pulled off ECW at anytime in the near, or even far future.

Also, I have heard of Sick Nick, have not seen him work though.

Zen444 is no longer welcome in this topic in my mind, because I've banned him at least three times for infractions in here now, I hope club management will agree with me on this point, since I certainly hate to throw "mod power" in anybody here's face. I respect the hell out of you all, and always use this club as a defense of the C & C forum in general, but feel very strongly that Zen is just someone that should not be encouraged to post here, since he continues to be a problem for this topic.

I had a feeling you may have considered going into wrestling, and honestly I think that happens to all the younger wrestling fans.
I also had Punk in mind when I asked the question for the title picture, but I had to exclude rvd and sabu as they would be the obvious answers if I just asked "who should be in the title picture."

Steph needs to get the hell away, or get a damn clue that just because she doesn't like it doesn't mean the rest of the world agrees with her. If things were up to her there would be no ECW and Heyman would be gone from the company..

And yes I agree with you about Zen.

So much so that it needed a separate post:

Alright everybody, here is the deal. Spammers and pure idiots like that are just trying to ruin what we have. I for one will not let that happen. When a situation like this pops up again ignore it. Do not respond to their posts and they will eventually go away. In Zen444's case he has continued to cause trouble here. He has pissed a good many people off and seems intent to keep on doing so. So please ignore him. I'm tired of seeing his crap and I'm sure most of you are too. Thank you very much.

back to the topic: Think SD will do something for it being on Friday the 13th? Or will they wait till the end of the month for any and all strangeness, spookeyness, and sillyness?

Well, if Boogey is getting back on TV anytime soon, I'd say that would be the time to do it. I think this is the first time SD! has aired on a Friday the 13th, so I'm not sure if they'll make mention of that, or if they'll just treat it like business as usual. I was wondering what would happen for ECW on Sci-Fi in a couple of weeks, since they will have an airing on Halloween night if Sci-Fi dosen't decide to just pre-empt the show for a marathon of Halloween movies or something (highly doubt they shall).

Of course it does... I got into wrestling and had a couple of matches (in front of about 40 people) and let me tell you, after those matches one respects what wrestlers even more. Like I said it was two matches and I felt like hell afterwards, so I can't imagine how one must feel after wrestling six out seven days a week.

As for Smackdown on friday, I don't think they'll have anything special, unless Kane make an appeareance, I doubt that will happen because there wouldnt be much sens in making him show up only to disappear for four months.

It wasn't training as it was more of a seminar... A couple of wreslers from here (Carlos Colon and El Invader) were giving a seminar of the basics of wrestling, like taking bumps, going off the ropes, headlocks, etc.. I took that and I learned the basics and since a friend of mine had a ring in his home I practiced there.

About 2 months later that same friend told me that they were having a bit of a mini-show near my home so I went there and had a match. ( I lost by the way). The crowd liked me enough that the next time I participated again.

It was a good experience and I still practice so I don't forget the basics, but I have no intention of going pro or anything... at least until I'm done studying,

Oh yeah, I had a couple of finishers but the most popular one was a spiining loeg-drop (similar to the one RVD does when his opponents ar on the ground) only from the top rope.

If anyone's planning on getting into wrestling be ready to deal with a lot aches and pains... And the mat isn't as soft as it looks... which I found out the hard way.

It'd be great to learn the basics of wrestling. That would probably be one of the things that could actually motivate me to get of my fat ass and get in shape.
I can't imagine how exhilarating it would be to do something like a 450 splash from the top rope.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-10-12 12:53:07

I've always wonder what it would be like to be a pro wrestler. I'd probably try for a cruiserweight postion. I'd have to be take a lot of punishment to become a good one. Not to mention I can never flip backwards, so that throws out some awesome moves right there.

If you're a wrestling fan its something you should try at least once.. Just the adrenaline you get from the people cheering (or booing) is worth it. I can't even imagine how it would be like performing in front of thousands of fans day in and day out.

Couple of releaes today including an ECW original... And a gorgeous one at that..

World Wrestling Entertainment released ECW original Francine earlier today, so expect an official announcement at any time. No word yet on what led to the decision, although they had used her fleetingly on TV since the ECW brand was relaunched.

Gunner Scott (Brent Albright), who was one of the focal stars pushed in Ohio Valley Wrestling under Paul Heyman's regime as booker, and appeared for several months on the Smackdown roster was released today.

Scott had been sent back down to OVW for seasoning last June after being told that he wasn't connecting with the audience, although to be fair, he wasn't given much to work with creatively at the time.

Well I didn't notice Gunner getting any big momentum. It was only a matter of time. He might pull a 180 like the boogeyman, but probably not.

Some possible spoilers here...

Dave Meltzer reports that Sunday's Rey Mysterio-Chavo Guerrero "I Quit - Loser Leaves Smackdown" match at the Staples Center in LA will be Mysterio's final match before his knee surgery. The show will be a Raw and Smackdown Supershow taping.

I like seeing Rey but this might be good because it could mean the end (finally) of the whole Eddie storyline and maybe just maybe, the WWE can finally let the man rest in peace.
