This is from the WWE website.... Angle comments on him leaving the WWE.

Former WWE champion Kurt Angle commented on his release yesterday from the company in an article published on the WWE website this afternoon. The article positions Angle's release as something mutually agreed upon by Angle and World Wrestling Entertainment.

Angle commented to the website, "My body is so beat up and run down, I can't even think straight." He said that the seven years of running on the road for the company have taken a major toll on him emotionally and physically, noting, "I haven't been able to really enjoy my life. I haven't seen my family, I've had problems with medication - I'm just fried physically and mentally." Angle's business manager David Hawk noted that the former Olympic Gold Medalist has been using prescription medication to deal with the situation and at this point, does not intend to return to the ring unless he can do so without the continued aid of prescription medication.

Angle's injuries from his final WWE match (as of now) in White Plains, New York against Rob Van Dam were noted as well, with Angle commenting, "Early on in the match, I pulled my groin, but I kept going, feeding off the crowd. Then I pulled my abdominal muscle off the pelvic bone, but I kept going as the crowd grew more wild. Finally, I blew out my hamstring, but we finished the match."

Angle noted in the article that there is no timeframe for his possible return to the company and that he is focusing on getting better, physically and mentally.

In case any of you have noticed, Umaga IS defeated. By Shawn Michaels. There was a match between him and Umaga and umaga was torchering him and pushing the referee so Shawn Michaels won by DQ.

Ok. First off, I'm in Canada and don'et GET ECW on Sci-Fi up here. I've been following on sites like PWInsider.com on the happenings of ECW as best I can, but you can only get so much out of some text and a few images from WWE.com

I was, however, aware that Kurt had not been on ECW for a while. Recall I said WWE needs Kurt badly. Had he been able to stay and make a comeback (or should he return) there should be a major build-up. An athekete like Kurt Angle returning would boost ECW ratings. Granted, they are doing better than immediate expectations, but having Kurt return would send them through the roof. THEN, after a couple months in ECW, he should return to SmackDown! as a World Heavyweight Championship contender, to correct the mistake WWE made of sending him to ECW in the first place.

I guess calling him "The Un-pinned Samoan bulldozer" just doesn't have the same ring as just calling him undefeated. Besides if you are going to get technical, Samoa Joe has lost triple threat matches, he just didn't get pinned. Same kind of deal.

Angle was moved to ECW because he needs a lighter schedule. He dosen't believe that, but he needs to be able to work less to reduce his injuries.

The reason WWE posted is sugarcoating, Angle feels he dosen't have a problem at this moment, they DID NOT WANT TO RELEASE HIM, WWE laid down a set of things it wanted Angle to do to get back into the ring, but he refused, so they are treating him like they did Eddie Guerrero, or William Regal, letting him go to address his problems and then they'll welcome him back into the fold.

Kurt is a very sick man now, he's suffering from burnout, and huge amounts of personal turmoil, the best thing for him to do is to take an extended break from wrestling, and he is like the dog that will keep eating even when it's full, he refuses to take that time off, so WWE has forced him to do so.

WWE is NOT to blame for any of this, and I retract and apologize for my statement last night to the contrary, WWE is doing what they feel will best help Angle and I applaud them for it. Kurt has got to take a break from the business and get his life in order, and heal his body, or if he isn't a Kerry Von Erich, certainly it is bad enough that people in the know fear he might be another Eddie Guerrero.

TNA is interested, but I really hope that falls through and they don't seriously pursue it. Angle must take a break.

Umaga did indeed lose a match by DQ, but it's not so much a "defeat" is it is a "loss." That is, Shawn Michaels didn't exactly defeat him, since it wasn't a pin or submission. DQ's are not seen as either man being defeated or being victorious, as it is only a technicality.

So he IS "undefeated" because a "defeat" consists of either being pinned or forced to submit, neither of which happened to Umaga. Ditto Samoa Joe.

But don't forget, getting DQ does count as a defeat, who know's because Mr. Kenedy was defeated by Eddie a long time ago. And Kenedy got lucky against Hardy, no way Hardy could lose to someone like him.

I guess your in, but please don't spam. John Cena made a crappy song, I like edge songs better about Cena losing. Oh those are PPV ads and Cena can't wrestle don't forget. He's this generations Hulk Hogan, can't wrestle, but people like him anyways. Or you could say he's this generations Goldberg, now that guy couldn't wrestle no matter what, even ask Bret "the hitman" Hart.

awesome!

Visera and Val Venis are no longer a tag team it seems, as they have a match against each other on heat. Poor Val will probably never get back to the mid-card level he once was at.

Probably, although they sometimes do give gim matches on Raw, unfortanatly they just use him to lose against somebody. I remember when they were doing that with Shawn Michaels, man I hated it.

Damn, I missed page 500. >:( Anyway, SD! was decent on Friday. However, I do not like the way how the company is booking both champs (Edge and Booker) as pussy heels who get beaten by face challengers (Cena and Batista) regularly. The booking gives me an impression that the heels are just keeping the titles for the faces. Ever since Cena and Batista won the titles at WM21, the heel champions who won the title from them been booked as pussy cats. I believe that the right way is to book them as Triple H type of heel (before Hunter turned face) ao that they can go back and forth with the face challengers and prove the value of their championships. Personally, I am tired of the creative team for poor booking. What do you think?

Although I'm the hugest fan of Batista, your right, remember when Kurt was a heel, even when he destroyed Ric Flair without even trying he still was a heel. I would like to see Edge and Booker like that. If Cena ever went against Kurt as both faces, Cena would lose in a matter of seconds. Anyways your right, they deserve better than this, them being King and Edge.

True. However, I would have kept him on SmackDown! and simply exempt him from many or all house shows. Now Kurt, being the proud man he is, was willing to battle through his injuries up to this point (and was willing to continue to do so upon his return from his divorce proceedings [poor guy]) but WWE knew he was hurting and badly, so they sent him to ECW to lighten his load. I say he should of stayed on SmackDown!, because SD is literally down to a roster of about 20 active superstars and is in need of some star power. However, WWE did what they felt was the best for the man, not the franchise. Bravo for that.

Agreed. WWE has done some stupid things in the past, but they aren't dumb enough to let Angle go without some real justification. I'm almost 100% sure we have not seen the last of the Wrestling Machine in the WWE.

Kurt is a very sick man now, he's suffering from burnout, and huge amounts of personal turmoil, the best thing for him to do is to take an extended break from wrestling, and he is like the dog that will keep eating even when it's full, he refuses to take that time off, so WWE has forced him to do so.

Correct. WWE cares about their Superstars (expecially after the new Wellness Policy) and are willing to sacrifice Main Events of PPV's (ie. Pulling The Great Kali from the Punjabi Prison Match at the Great American Bash) and even sacrifice main eventers (ie. Kurt Angle) for the sake of their own well-being. Though I hate to see Angle go, I commend them for that.

TNA is interested, but I really hope that falls through and they don't seriously pursue it. Angle must take a break.

Damn straight! Besides, I want Angle back in the WWE once he's good and ready.

From wrestlezone.com:

Matt Striker and Hardcore Holly are scheduled to be full time members of the ECW roster from now on. WWE is doing this so that they can phase out and most likely release a few of the original ECW talents that they see nothing in. Those that are currently on the bubble are CW Anderson, Francince, Tony Mamaluke, and Jazz. There is also talk on giving both Al Snow and Steven Richards office jobs.

See nothing in them?! WTF?!
