For RVD to use his MITB contract at ONS2, wouldn't that mean taht one of the World Champs would have to be there? Why would any of the WWE champs even show up at the ECW show?
Because WWE has probably convinced itself the only way the show can draw is for WWE guys to be there. The stuff I read in "Hardcore History" has been very eye-opening, and just goes to show how much even pretty hardcore (no pun intended) ECW fans really don't know. But yeah, basically Vince listens to idiots like Kevin Dunn (head of production) who reportedly has said that ECW was not as big as the crowd reactions make it out to be (never mind the big buyrate, and the fact that the company basically operated for the better part of a decade never really making money, but still staying strong. Right Kevin?), then let's guys with a grudge like JBL (know why he hates ECW so bad? The big goof tried to get work there shortly before going to the WWF, but Paul E. thought he was terrible and refused to use him! Suddenly that lobbying to get himself sent to the show makes a lot more sense now...). I have to agree with the above though, unless the idea is to send a champ there to job (and if RVD is not moved in the draft, or turned heel. We need to assume that his opponent will either be H, or a heel turned John Cena), and then RVD throws that title down to ressurect ECW declaring himself it's champion, then it's simply using the ECW name to promote WWE further, and any credibility ONS might have as an ECW reunion or tribute show will be destroyed. Not saying WWE won't do it, just saying they shouldn't.
As for the championship situation, here's how it looks to me: Rey will drop it to Orton on SD!, because the Mania win was just feel good stuff for the hardcore fans, and the way Rey has been booked, he looks like a paper champ, and WWE will more then likely be damned then let him carry it. A big fuck you to the tanned steroid freak chairman on that one. Cena will most likely drop it to Triple H at Backlash, and my GOD did they make him look like a fucking moron on RAW. Triple H jumps on Edge, so Cena thinks H is his friend? Gee, I guess John Cena has never watched what Triple H does to his "friends" on TV before...I'm not a big fan of John Cena, but I had to feel bad for him after that stupid piece of booking.
I may join Ryo soon in simply not watching WWE anymore. Mania was solid, and had some good stuff on it that I really enjoyed...but so much of that (RVD's win, Rey's title win, which was DESERVED by the way, I really do not care what you critics think) is going to be erased, or botched over the coming months, and that will probably destroy the last shred of my ability to watch any new WWE programming. I'll probably at that point just stick to TNA (which I am enjoying) and old ECW footage.
