I have a subsrciption to WWE 24/7 online, so, yes, i like watching older matches.

Well seeing how some people are talking about ECW, I'd though I post this article about the passing of Johnny Grunge, at the age of 39.

Oops didn't see that there, my mistake. I'm really looking forward to the triple threat match next week. Big Show and RVD are two of my favorite wrestlers.

Big Show was my favorite when he was new to RAW, and getting his big push. That kinda died out, didn't it?

On the subject of Big Show, what's everyone's general opinion of him? Being a 500-pounder, he has some obvious limits, but I think he does well despite that. I do wish they had him do more feats of strength more often, though, since that's pretty much his specialty.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-02-16 23:20:43

I am not a fan of Big Show but I don't dislike him. He definitely has talent but he kind of needs something to make him more popular. Maybe a new gimmick or something. Most other big men who enter the WWE come in with some kind of gimmick that normally gives them huge pushes like Taker and Kane.

As long as the legend of ECW lives on, so will the legend of the PE. By the way, does anyone know a way that WWE has on their website to suggest things? I think it might be nice if we tried to get a grass roots effort to put together something for a "best of Public Enemy" or something.

As for the Show, he is definitely talented for a big man, great personality, some very good skills despite the limitations his size places on him. He's a good utility guy I feel, but he'll never really be a world champion or anything again at this stage in his career. Still, he has a bit to contribute I think, sadly, it would appear his contribution next week will be involvement in a Triple H victory. Fingers crossed that H won't attempt to destroy RVD in the process of winning...fingers crossed, but that's more then likely what will occur.

Eddie Gurrero Theries

Tag Champs?
Did you notice when eddie died rey and batista won the tag team champions but that was a bit random. if you remebr batista and eddie began to team up. Well the orignial plan was that batista and eddie would capture the tag titles but unforuntatly eddie died and rey took his place!

Did He Know About His Death?
Eddie was a heel (dirty/bad guy) wrestler and was chasing after the WWE title then suddenly he changes back to a face (clean/good guy) and talks about how good he wants to be, instantly the crowd love him again. Soon after Eddie died. I think that Eddie knew he was going to die soon and thats why he wanted to be come crowd respected again.

Kurt Angle Shouldnt Be Champion
On the day of his death, Guerrero was set to face Batista and Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship on the November 13 taping of Friday Night SmackDown! (which would have aired on November 18). Stephanie McMahon hinted, and other sources confirmed, that Guerrero had been scheduled to defeat Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship, which would have begun Guerrero's first reign as World Heavyweight Champion. Then the story line between Mark Henry and Batista would have happend. But Batista didnt lose the championship due to Eddies death and because he got injured the title was vacated reveling the new chamption Kurt Angle. So let me just cut that short if Eddie wouldnt have died the current champion would probably be Eddie Gurrero!

I don't think he knew he was going to die Deck, if he had an inkling of what was wrong, he would have gotten it taken care of because of his love for his family. The rest of that stuff is just a "duh" situation that if you were watching the shows at that point, and realized what was happening behind the scenes (like Batista's injury) then you knew Eddie was going to take the belt, probably drop it to Orton by now, Batista would have re-habbed the initial injury, and been back in time for Mania to fight Orton.

Here's a great look at the life and career of PE from one of the foremost experts on ECW alive, Mike Johnson:

I think Big Show may be the first to break the master lock. In the last few weeks the announcers have been talking about he doesn't know how strong he is. In a way he is kind of like Andre the Giant, but I doubt Big Show will become a legend like Andre.

Sorry for the delay…I had to run out of the house. Then again, it’s not like my recaps are THAT good that everyone is waiting with bated breath for them.

RAW Recap for 2/16/05 – “The Name of the Recap”

I missed the first few minutes of Raw, so I have to pick up right from the start of the Show/HHH match.

Match 1 – Big Show vs. HHH (Road to Wrestlemania Match)

The match was good. I pretty much got what I expected from each of the two wrestlers. If it wasn’t for the environment, the match would have been a bit more believable. Basically, Show destroys HHH during the first part of the match, after which HHH makes a comeback. They exchange finishers and both kick out at around a 2.9993 count as expected. It was done very well, though. The match ends after Show is beating up HHH on the outside of the ring, and they both get counted out.

However, this is where the fun begins. And by fun I mean big blunders. First off, Big Show clears off the Announce Table to Chokeslam HHH onto it. Jerry Lawler is complaining about his laptop being on the table. Granted, I pretty much assumed that Show wouldn’t be able to pull it off, but Lawler didn’t help with his precious little laptop. Any laptop owner would do what I would do if someone was about to Chokeslam someone else onto the table my laptop is on. That is, GET THE FUCKING LAPTOP OFF THE TABLE!!!! It’s not 300 pounds, Lawler, pick it the fuck up! Don’t give things away so easily next time, okay? Also, Big Show performed the Official Put People Through The Black Retaining Wall Maneuver, which actually was done well. I might have believe it more if there were people running the fuck out of the way as Show approached the wall, though. However, that’s not the fault of HHH nor Show, so excellent match!

Winner: No Winner (Double Count-Out)

Generic Backstage Whoring

First off, Lord Vince mentions a Triple Threat between Show, HHH, and the winner of the Master Fuckup/Mr. Flippity Match. Sounds fun! Then, Mama whores to Lord Vince in order to get Mama’s Boy a IC Title Match.

Next, we get Whiny Bastard and his Slut whoring to Mick Foley. A few Cheap Pops later, we are aware of Foley’s bias and Edge’s threat. It is the scenes like this that make me realize how useless Edge is.

Match 2 – Mama’s Boy vs. Eugene

Oh great. This already?

Let me go over Mama’s Boy’s best maneuvers at match start:
- The Titanic Candy Smash
- The Colossal Jacket Rip-Off
- The UNBELIEVABLY POWERFUL Jacket Throw

This will help get Mama’s Boy respect, believe you me. Anyway, Shelton wins, just in case you didn’t get that Eugene is a jobber now. Mama’s Boy boasts on mike to his Mama for a minute, then goes away. Thank God.

Mama’s Boy def. Eugene, is #1 IC Title Contender

Match 3 – The Diva Slut Winner vs. Paris Hilton

Boring match.

Winner: The Diva Slut Winner

HBK Retirement Match

Lord Vince goes through a nice list of options of how to celebrate HBK’s retirement. He eventually decides on…SPIRIT FINGERS. Not only did they suck as usual tonight, they couldn’t even get the cheer right. Anyway, Lord Vince tells HBK to sign, and after 15 minutes of contemplation, HBK says the No of Generic Distaste to Lord Vince. Then, Lord Vince makes what happens to be the most hilarious speech I’ve seen in a long time. HBK then signs the papers and rips them up. Lord Vince basically says he’ll pay. Never before has dead air time been so funny to me. I give credit to Lord Vince for his acting abilities to pull that off.

Match 4 – The Master Fuckup vs. Mr. Flippity

Oh great. Another match I don’t want to see. Well, that’s not true. I want to see RVD kick Masters’ ass, but we all know that Masters will fuck up the match somehow.

Masters started off doing his usual shittiness, which has apparently translated to punches as well. After Irish Whipping RVD, he comes back and barely elbows RVD when they meet. Also, he manages to pick up RVD very unceremoniously, which RVD just pulled out of. He did, however, manage a rather impressive Cross-Body Slam which countered RVD’s turnbuckle move…probably all RVD’s work. He also managed a Torture Rack Backbreaker. Amazing. In the end, RVD won with the Five-Star Frog Splash. Masters still sucks.

Chris Masters Scorecard
Body Shine: Better than last week, but could be better
Attempted Wrestling Moves: 2
Attempted Moves not the Master-Lock: 2…wow! He didn’t even hide behind the Master Lock this match? Maybe he just sucked too much to get to it.
Fuck-ups: 2…now that’s more like Chris Masters.

Psycho Hose Beast gets Random Trish Stratus Boyfriend Arrested

Basically, Mickie James frames Random Trish Stratus Boyfriend for assault after he wouldn’t accept her. Now, I can understand if she made it very convincing and no one else was there to witness the framing, but doesn’t the fucking CAMERA MAN count??? Doesn’t he have EYES????? Give me a break.

Mr. No-Gimmick vs. Whiny Bastard for the WWE Title, Special Guest Ref. Mick Foley

I’ll repeat it again, it’s sad that the REFEREE is the most interesting wrestler in this match.

Now, Coach kept saying that Mick Foley might not call it down the middle. Um, John? NO FUCKING SHIT!!! THAT IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE LAST MATCH, FOR THE WINNER TO CHOOSE A BIASED JUDGE! Idiot.

Since Cena and Edge suck, I’ll just go over the parts that involve Mick Foley:

Foley ejects Lita from ringside after he sees her trying to take a turnbuckle pad off. Later in the match, Foley gets knocked out of the ring and is down for a while. Cena STF’s Edge after and gets him to tap. Lita runs in and stops him and distracts him for a while. After, she takes off a turnbuckle and gives Edge the WWE Title to hit Cena with. You know, Standard Slut Procedures. Eventually Foley comes to and counts Cena with a 2.999998 count. Then, Cena did the Super Superman Move and catches Edge while he tries to do a Cross-Body off the top rope. He hoists Edge on his shoulders, F-U’s him and then wins. Hooray.

My take on this match…you know, as much as I hate Cena, at least Edge didn’t win. And I got to see Mick Foley.

Oh yeah, Foley gets low-blowed by Lita and Speared by Edge after the match. Edge wasn’t a happy man. Do I smell more Whiny Bastard Syndrome?

Cena def. Edge, retains title

Conclusion

It coulda been worse. At least Vince made it funny.

I must agree with you. Vince saying that he wants the inner peace that Shawn has and how half the time, he doesn't know who the hell he is. That whole speech by Vince basically made my night. The rest of Raw not surprisingly left a lot to be desired. I used to be a bigger fan of the Raw roster but I definitely am not anymore. MNM, Angle, Orton, Helms > Edge, Cena, Big Slow, Mama's Boy.

You're asking about what happens when a guy decides he is going to stop working from script, or pulling his punches, and begins to legitimately fight and hurt (wrestling jargon would say: shoot) on an opponent?

It's hard to know actually, and it is very rare...one of the only way to tell is to watch the reactions of the person getting attacked, if somebody is getting shot on, they're not going to be able to hide the surprise well. Not to mention the match would probably be cut extremely short as the ref would stop it. One of the ref's jobs out there is to make sure the wrestlers are playing along, and not trying to go after each other. It is EXTREMELY rare that you will see anyone break script in a match and "go into business for themselves", usually that sort of politicing and BS happens behind the scenes before the match even starts (Just ask RVD about that world title run that never happened!)

LordKooler's Friday Night Smackdown review
1.Rey Mysterio vs Sylvan
Before the match, Sylvan talked about how great he is. Sylvan isn't great, He has made appearances on Velocity jobbing ever since coming to Smackdown. After Rey won, Randy Orton came out and said that Rey Mysterio will never main event wrestlemania. How does Randy feel about his father getting released? And Chavo Guerrero will be ringside with Vickie Guerrero and her daughters during the Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton match at No Way Out. Why is WWE making Randy Orton say these things about Eddie Guerrero? They should leave Eddie alone.
2.Boogeyman vs Orlando Jordan
The Boogeyman won at the end. When will WWE repackage Orlando Jordan as a bisexual?
3.Gregory Helms vs Scotty 2 Hotty
After Gregory Helms won, Every Smackdown cruiserweight attacked him. Helms will wrestle all the cruiserweights at No Way Out.
4.JBL & Finlay vs Lashley & Chris Benoit
Booker T did commentary during the match. JBL & Finlay won at the end.
5.Matt Hardy vs Simon Dean
Matt Hardy faces the opponent he faced when he returned to Smackdown in October 2005. After Matt Hardy won, they announced that Matt Hardy & and a mystery partner will face MNM for the Tag Team titles at No Way Out. Who will be Matt Hardy's tag team partner?
6.Kurt Angle & Undertaker vs MNM & Mark Henry
After Kurt Angle & Undertaker won, Undertaker gave Mark Henry the tombstone!

I was very disappointed with the Cruiserweight match and Boogeyman/Jordan match on this weeks Smackdown.

WWE has their cruiserweights wrestle like they're heavyweights, it's terrible. I was very bored with the Helms vs. Scotty. No big bumps or nothing. I wish they would lift the high-risk move ban because I know plenty of the cruiserweights are great when flying off the turnbuckle. Who wouldn't want to see Paul London do some crazy ass flips like he was known on the Indy scene for doing? Just watch some London's stuff, not the WWE stuff.
http://youtube.com/r..os&search=Search
Paul London and Spanky is a great idea for a tag team but of course, WWE screws it up because of their shitty ban on high risk moves. WWE's cruiserweight division sucks...period. When I want to see some great cruiserweight action, I watch TNA's X-Division. The cruiserweight match at No Way Out will probably have at least one major spot, but probably nothing worth remembering.

The Boogeyman vs. Orlando Jordan match was just plain awful. God, i felt like vomiting and not because of the worms. Boogeyman can't wrestle worth shit, and that's what I've read on many websites. All his matches are squash matches and are always terrible. I know Orlando Jordan can perform in the ring, so they should have let him actually have a match with some back and forth action, not some match where he taps out within a minute or gets squashed. I'm sure Jordan will be released from WWE in the near future, which is sad because WWE prefers huge-muscled guys who can't wrestle, John Cena, Chris Masters, and Boogeyman, over guys who are actually great wrestlers.

I think they're going to be kept as a team for some little while, house show lineups have had them teaming for awhile, and it would seem that the plan is to keep them together for a little while.

As for the complaints about the two bouts on SD! this week, I must wholeheartedly agree. Not letting many cruisers work their more high impact style detracts from the divisions specialness, I'm not saying we need people doing "holy shit" dives to the floor every match, but we need them wrestling a different style from the bigger guys so as to distinguish themselves. I've never felt Scotty was a good worker really, and I don't buy this "the crowd loves him" shit. That "scotty" chant was so obviously piped into the taped audio that it's fuckin painful.

Speaking of painful, this is how they're going to get Orlando over again? Getting squashed by the Boogeyman? Boogey looked godawful in the ring, but I can't deny that the crowd is behind this gimmick, stupid as it is, and as bad of a wrestler as he is. But then some of these people probably are the same one's that think John Cena should be WWE champ. Please keep any and all titles away from Boogey though!!!

ok so I have a free minute to post. SD sucked. I am mad at raw cause they keep wigger as champ. TNA tonight will be good.

My major gripe with WWE is Cena. I mean you parade a wigger as a unstoppable force when really he has no skill at all. I mean come on. I just hope at mania he loses that belt and stays away from it for a long time. I swear I should email him and poke fun. or just call him gay. fucking ass wipe wigger, eat a dick, eat a bag of dicks.

Yeah. About that the WWE has been hinting a Boogeyman-Booker feud which can only mean one of two things. 1.Benoit is going to win the US title at No Way Out or. 2.Booker T retains the US belt and loses it at Wrestlemania to the Boogeyman.

If thats the case, lets hope benoit wins. A boogey title reign is the last thing we need.

Vince banning so many moves can only hurt his product in the long run. While he limits everyone's moves in wwe, TNA lets their workers do all the moves they want making their in ring product better. And isn't this about wrestling? You make it so your wrestling is stale sooner or later the fans are going to wise up and go where the action is.

The sad thing is that the majority of the fans actually love what's going on. All of the mindless lemmings who sit at home and root for Cena are having the time of their lives. No matter who can actually wrestle and who can't, there are still those people out there who will cheer for whoever the WWE pushes as a face. And that is absolutely pathetic. I don't see how anything can save Raw at this point unless they just hand RVD or Carlito the title. I hope that HHH annihilates Cena at WM22 after he wins the tourney. And please, for the sake of me ever watching wrestling again, please allow Orton to take Rey's hopes and dreams away.
