I actually agree with you on three out of four. I do not think that they are quite ready to end the shitty storyline and I believe that Rey will win. Don't get me wrong. I hate Mysterio and hope that Orton destroys him but I just don't think it's going to happen. As far as your other three predictions, I agree.

I have some news about Randy Orton's father "Cowboy" Bob Orton.

Bob Orton released

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Bob Orton. We wish him the best in all future endeavors.

Angle is a face. Having Rey against Angle at WM22 will blow just like most face-face showdowns. By then, people will get tired of Rey as he will memory how Eddie is watching him and helping him in every show. For Rey's own sake, the Eddie storyline needs to RIP. Or I can see that Rey will be booed out of the roof just like Cena.

1. Angle def Taker. (I don't that Taker will lose clean, so my guess is that Mark Henry will somehow screw Taker up and set up the feud for WM22.)
2. Orton def Rey (Rey has been pushed by winning the RR. It is time to let Eddie rest in peace and end the shitty storyline.)
3. Benoit def Booker (Benoit is a hard worker of the company, he should have the U.S tittle since he is a better wrestler than Booker T.)
4. Lashley def JBL (JBL is a jobber now, all he needs to do is to push newcomers over.)
What do you guys think so far? Welcome to post!

I agree with 3 of your predictions, but I'm not sure about the U.S. Championship match. The entire U.S. Championship storyline has been crazy and unpredictable ever since Booker qualified for wrestling Benoit for it. Nobody saw the best of 7 coming, nor the whole 'substitute' thing, so I don't know what's gonna happen next. It's just really weird.

For some reason I think that they will let Rey win the Title at wrestlemania 22. Randy Orton would be a much better winner than Rey. Rey is okay, but Randy is the future of the business.

sweet, can't wait to see the review.

So cowboy bob got released huh? Well that helps Randy in a way, since now he will be winning matches on his own with no help, making him a stronger heel.

I doubt that anything can make him a stronger heel then what he's been doing lately. It may be crossing the line (mocking Eddie's death), but it is certainly making people hate him. After stunts like this, it would be difficult for him to ever return to being a face. (Thank God, because he blew as a face).

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-02-14 12:34:56

It looks like we'll be seeing less from HBK he's leaving the full-time schedule and will be a specialty performer probably something like Undertaker. And a weird note the Boogeyman eats worms backstage seriously even when he's out of character.

Another thing that I heard about Boogeyman from ObsessedWithWrestling.com is that they paid him to get his teeth pulled in order to fit the character. If that's true, what a sick f*ck.

You're right, his character could also be stale as hell, and most of the audience could hate him and be counting the seconds until he loses the belt. Oh, wait... :)

I imagine Bret will indeed participate at WM 22, perhaps as the special ref in Vince vs. Michaels? I dunno. I've also heard that Dusty Rhodes and Eddie Guerrero will also be inducted this year. I hope they also speak to Bret about finally inducting Owen, as I believe he hasn't been of yet, and part of that was out of respect for Bret. I think it would be wonderful to honor both the Hart brothers on the same night.

Yeah Owen deserves to be inducted in the Hall of Fame as well he was as good as Bret in the ring and actually better on the mic its a shame he was always treated as a mid-carder. One more thing about the Kanyon being gay its a lie Kanyon is using it to see if he can get a job in TNA or WWE.

my god, you people, the only reason you think wrestling is so predictable is because you percieve it that way. I’d like to preface this review with a couple of fast points: 1. I am a mark for ECW, there are few things in this world I genuinely believe in, and those three letters are one of them. I will unashamedly, and unabashedly defend that product, and the people behind it to my dying day. If you feel that means I can’t give you a fair and objective review, I won’t waste your time by asking you to read this. Just thumb on down to the next post then. 2. While I am an ECW mark, that does not mean I am necessarily a fan of every match they ever did. There are situations where I feel certain matchups should not have been promoted, no matter what the wrestlers involved desired to do. There is a line, and some of the bouts on this DVD cross it I feel. That’s about as much objectivity as you’re liable to get. Onward.

Firstly, let’s talk about what we’re looking at here. What you are going to be viewing when you pop this DVD into your player is bouts assembled from Extreme Championship Wrestling (I make clear the name Extreme, since I feel as long as Todd Gordon is disputed that Eastern and Extreme were the same company, and until a court makes a ruling, I will tread on the side of treating the two as separate) from 1994-2005. The set is two discs, hosted by ECW owner Paul Heyman, in a role that will not be very familiar to those of you who have not been long term ECW fans: ECW’s number 1 cheerleader. Heyman opens the DVD stating that other then his children, there is nothing that means more to him then those three letters. Paul also does a very good job of running down a bit of history before each bout, and WWE also has to be given credit for digging some footage out where appropriate to use as visual aids. On to our match listing and thoughts on the bouts selected, we‘ll also look at the special features on Disc 2 as well:

Disc 1

8/27/94, Hardcore TV, ECW World Tag Title match
Public Enemy, Champions vs. Mikey Whipwreck and Cactus Jack, Challengers.

Thoughts: A very good bout, and historic as well, this is the bout I discussed during both my Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck bios as being the bout that Mikey becomes a man, overcoming his fear, and getting in some offense! A wild match, that I think still holds up fairly well. This bout has been released previously on the “The Best of Cactus Jack in ECW” compilation by Pioneer entertainment.

3/18/95 Extreme Warfare Volume 1 (an ECW Home Video exclusive show)

Terry Funk and The Sandman vs. Cactus Jack and Shane Douglas

Thoughts: Violence personified! This was a wild brawl, and if it resembled a wrestling match in any way…it’s a dirty shame. This is also the match featuring Terry Funk’s famous use of a flaming branding iron on Cactus Jack. This match has been released commercially now FOUR times, including both this release and it’s original debut. It’s also available n the Best of Cactus Jack compilation, and ECW: Deep Impact, both from Pioneer Entertainment.

Hardcore Heaven 7/1/95 (pre-PPV ECW specialty show, would join PPV lineup regularly in ‘97), Taipei Death Match

Axel Rotten vs. Ian Rotten.

Thoughts: The blow off match to the feud between the former “brothers” who comprised the team of “The Bad Breed”. A Taipei Death Match is achieved by taping up one’s fists, dipping them in super glue, then rolling them in broken glass. This is NOT wrestling, it’s barbarous violence between two absolute psychopaths of the squared circle. While I respect the heart and guts of the men involved, I feel this one was too violent, even for ECW, and it is one of the principle reasons why this type of match was never tried again. This sort of match is blood sport, and bouts like this helped get ECW the unfair rep of being just a “blood and guts” promotion. This match was also released on ECW: Path of Destruction from Pioneer.

November 2 Remember 11/18/95 (ECW’s version of Wrestlemania, the signature show of the year) Mexican Death Match

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Psichosis

Thoughts: Ok, here’s the rules quick: This is same rules as a Texas Death Match, you must pin your opponent, once you have done so, they have to answer a standing 10 count, or the match is over. If they get up, you have to start from scratch and try to pin them again. It’s an exhausting type of match that only the best and toughest should ever try and attempt (and yes, WWE DID steal this one, although ECW did too, as Terry Funk’s father Dory originated this sort of bout). Excellent wrestling here, and the best “extreme lucha libre” ever got to. This match has never been previously offered on any DVD.

Heatwave 6/13/96 (the signature summer event from ECW) Four Corners Match for the ECW Television title

2 Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Jericho, Champion vs. Shane Douglas vs. Pitbull #2 (R.I.P.)

Thoughts: Ok, fast rules, four corners is when you have two men in the ring working, and they tag out to the other two, it’s every man for himself, and it is elimination rules. One of the best matches EVER, I say that with complete confidence, an incredible 45 minutes of hard, hard work, and a SICK bump through a table at the end. ECW at it’s finest. This bout was previously released on ECW: Path of Destruction.

Hardcore Heaven 6/22/96 Weapons Match

Tommy Dreamer vs. “Prime Time Brian Lee”

Thoughts: Violent, violent bout, but what do you want from a Dreamer match? Brian Lee was a lackey of Raven who Tommy fought many times during the course of the feud with Raven while Raven dealt with other opponents like Sandman, and so that it kept the Tommy/Raven bouts fresh. This one gets hard to watch in places, they fought all the way into the streets, and Tommy bled buckets here. Always sacrificing for ECW was our Patron Saint…God bless him! This match has never been previously offered on DVD.

The Doctor is In 8/3/96 Stretcher Match

RVD vs. Sabu

Thoughts: The second, and probably nastiest bout between RVD and Sabu, began after the first bout when RVD arrogantly refused to shake Sabu’s hand. I believe you’re all familiar with the rules, a lot of bodily sacrifice on this one, and a “how did he not get seriously injured?” sort of finish. This one has seen release on ECW: Hardcore History from Pioneer.

Disc 2

Born to Be Wired 8/9/97 Barbed Wire Match for the ECW World title

Terry Funk, Champion vs. Sabu

Thoughts: There’s not much I can say about Born To Be Wired that hasn’t already been said…it was violent, it was brutal, it was sickening, and it was another match that frankly shouldn’t have happened. Sabu and Funk pushed themselves to levels of brutality and self-mutilation that are sickening. The match got so out of hand they even had to change the finish! This one has had a prior DVD release as the centerpiece of ECW: Deep Impact.

As Good As It Gets 9/20/97 Intergender Match

Beulah Mcguilicuty vs. Bill Alfonso

Thoughts: Fonzie showed us exactly how much blood a human could bleed and not die, and Beulah showed us she wasn’t just the most beautiful woman ever in ECW, she could fight like the boys too! This one has previously seen release as an bonus feature to ECW: Deep Impact.

Heatwave 8/2/98 ECW Death Match for the FTW title

Taz, Unrecognized FTW Champion vs. Bam Bam Bigelow

Thoughts, wow, what a bout this was, Taz vs. Bigelow in his hometown, and they also recreated the memorable unplanned spot from their earlier Living Dangerously bout. Falls counted anywhere in this one. This bout, as well as the whole Heat wave ‘98 event was put on DVD by Pioneer.

Hardcore TV 1/17/99 ECW World Title Match

Taz, Champion vs. Shane Douglas

Thoughts: A classic, a rematch to their Guilty as Charged title bout only a week or so earlier, and they managed to have a much better match here. This bout has never been previously offered

Hardcore TV 7/5/99 Chicago Street Fight for the ECW Tag Team Titles

The Dudley Boyz, Champions vs. Balls Mahoney and Little Spike Dudley

Thoughts: A fight, pure and simple, violent, sometimes disturbing, and oh yeah…a FLAMEING FREAKING TABLE SPOT!! Oh…My…GOD!!! This bought has never been previously offered.

Guilty As Charged 1/10/00 ECW World Title Match

Mike Asshole…er…Awesome, Champion vs. Spike Dudley

Thoughts: The best ECW Match Awesome ever had against anybody not named Masato Tanaka, and further proof that WWE is insane for not being able to use Spike better. He took a hellacious beating here, but kept on fighting. This bought has never been previously offered.

ECW on TNN 2/25/00

Rhino vs. The Sandman

Thoughts: Beginning of a brutal feud that would take both men through the end of the promotion. Some good stuff here, though it degenerates into a gang fight as Rhino was then a member of “The Network” faction (sound familiar?). Just a note on TNN: They fucked pigs. They also fucked ECW. TNN became Spike TV, so if you love ECW…don’t watch that channel unless it’s for TNA, kthx. This bout has never been previously offered.

ECW On TNN 3/3/00 3-Way Dance

Super Crazy vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Little Guido (Nunzio)

Thoughts: What a great birthday present this match was. A lot of ECW on TNN sucked, I believe I’ve recounted the endless commercials, horrible time slot, and the other butchery TNN did to the show, we still had some great bouts like this one slip through. This bout has never been previously offered.

Guilty As Charged 1/7/01 “I Quit” Match

Tommy Dreamer vs. C.W. Anderson
Alternate commentary with Dreamer and Coach available on this (damn it, why the hell didn’t they get Tazz for this?!).

Thoughts: An excellent bout with Tommy bumping and selling like crazy for the young C.W. I am shocked that WWE never really picked up on this guy. He’s young, he’s mean, he’s skilled, and I think he has a great look. Had ECW survived, he would be a big star for them right now. This match has never previously been offered.

ECW One Night Stand 6/12/05

Mike Ass…er…Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka

Thoughts: You all saw it, you all know what you’re getting here. Offered on the event DVD released by WWE.

ECW Music Video Recap

Special Features:

Axel Rotten on the Taipei Death Match

ECW and Blood

Extreme Measures: The Flameing table (click your right arrow twice on this title to get an easter egg of Balls talking about going through the table badly once)

C.W. on the I Quit match with Tommy

Danny Doring and Roadkill on breaking into the business

The Pitbulls

Justin Credible on being Champion

Public Enemy vs. Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck History Video

Gangstas vs. Public Enemy House Part 1/5/96 (PE’s last match in ECW before going to WCW, never previously offered)

Overall: A must buy for even hardcore fans who have most of these bouts on tape. Paul E. is wonderful, the selections are well picked, and this is only Volume 1!

Avie gives this DVD: 4 Chairshots out of 4

Meh...the true reason why wrestling is so predictable today is because Vince has lost the magics that he used to have. In the old days, he used to make unbelievable matched with unpredictable results. Before the show split into RAW and SD!, there was only oner show. At that time, only the best wrestlers namely Taker, Warrior and HHH could be the champions. Vince does not care about the fans now as he has become a moneyhead. Since ladies and kids LOVE Cena, they will bring the whole families to watch which will bring Vince the income. That's why a shitty wrestler who has no skills can be the WWE champion for so long time. The bottom line is: old school wrestling >>>>>>>>> wrestling today.

kickass review! the TNN coment got me laughing like crazy. I should be getting this DVD tomorrow and I am excited as hell to watch these matches. Many of which I have never seen.

The way things look I'm just going to go on for a long term prediction here:

HHH wins the tournament and beats Cena at WM. He then holds onto it for far too long as usual. As far as Edge goes he may end up in a fued with HHH down the road for the title but since they are both supposed to be mega heels that probably won't happen. Cena may get bumped down to the IC title so he can still say the champ is here and annoy the crap out of everyone. A great fued that could work in a face vs heel type match would be HHH vs. RVD. If anyone can take the title from HHH is can be RVD.

I also belive that Carlito will be a champion either this year or the next. He's definatly got what it takes to get to the big time. So I guess I can offically say I'm rooting for him. Now thats cool

Randy was pretty funny. Hah. He wasn't offensive to Eddie this time, either, which was neat. I liked when he kept making the one guy repeat his question a bunch of times, then he says "No comment."
