I'm loosely allied with redruM and Random, but only as the friend of a freind. The Mages guild is allied with Meruns Truth, which is allied with the U.P.B. Although the Mages guild is allied with Volnar (for now), I personally don't like them because they're allies of my enemy, the Church (and they don't accept my Necromancer brethren).

Yup, that's pretty much it, through all that, your team is pretty much neutral with their team, but you can have a friendlier relationship with red and Random

Would it be possible for me to influince the guild alliances? My character is chaotic good, so I personally side towards the U.P.B. rather than my Volnor "allies." Could one loose cannon convince an entire guild to turn against a guild who tries to side with two warring factions?

Well, here's how it goes, you get a mission, you complete it, simple enough? At the end, you fight the bad guys, if we find no problems, we expand.

After everyone chooses a team, you do the first mission, if you complete the mission, you are rewarded, if you don't complete the mission, you aren't rewarded, it might even affect the story line. There is no room for changing a major political groups allegiance.
