See, that's what made Metallica different. They moved out of that and brought brutality into the scene. Sure, Slayer and stuff had been doing that for a little while, but Metallica went big. Everyone knew about them. But, that eventually was a bad thing, as when everyone liked them, they realised anything with Metallica on it is gunna sell. So, they got lazy, and they got old. And they started making crapper music. Now they have recruited Robert Trujillo, one of my favourite bassists from when he was in Suicidal Tendencies, but to me, he's not going to have an impact on song writing, the thing that really counts. So, I don't think Metallica are ever going to go back to their roots.
