MusicZone closed down here a while ago and it's a shame because there's now one less good shop here. Although the shop didn't have a massive amount of CDs like HMV, but the prices of the CDs were really good.

Well, just listened to Risk.

I have mixed opinions about it. I think I can look at it from two ways, as an album by Megadeth, and just as an album.

Album by Megadeth: Definately not what I love Megadeth for. Infact, probably the opposite. Still a few okay riffs, and I mean a few. Lyrical themes still good, but totally different from the usual.
Not an album i'd recommend to someone who wants to get into them.

Just an album: I like it, to be honest. I dont understand why people would hate it. I was expecting a very boring album, but it's not bad. Maybe it's because of the time of day. I find listening to different types of music at different times of the day affects how I feel about the music.
Much more mellow than Megadeth's usual. I like it alot. Favourite song is probably Wanderlust, that goes to show that I like this album not just because it's Megadeth.

So i'll probably buy it.

Risk is merely a more mainstream, more pop sounding metal. Megadeth fans got VERY upset about it obviously, due to such a negative reaction. It isnt BAD sounding, as it became a huge hit. Just metal fans were upset it wasnt thrash. It isnt mellow though. I would never describe it as such

I got me Cryptic Writings today.
I'd already heard the main songs from this, like Trust, Almost Honest and Use The Man, and I love those songs.
Overall a pretty enjoyable album. She-Wolf's pretty awesome. I think it's quite evident that Megadeth started to change their direction more in the album. Even though I love 'Deth for their earlier stuff, I still like this album, and plsu it's another one to the collection.
