I suppose i would like to be a BBS mod, im on from 4pm to midnight on & off. Ive been on NG for a few years, althought i dont think i have enough of a post count to be considered. So if not a BBS mod, i would like to be a review mod.

If I was picked for anything, i would like to be a forum mod. I have read the rules many times, and have seen alot of spam topics, that i couldnt do anything about. :( I Iwould do my best! :) if you actually read this, thanks for your time Wade! :D

A forum mod would be cool, but to tell you the truth, I don't think i'm cut out.

I flame everyone, and would probly get pissed off and ban

My second choice would probably be Review mod, because I hate when people do not leave construcitve reviews and instead just leave crappy ones.
Third Choice would be Audio, since I love music.
Fourth would be Icons...

sorry, my internet died for a bit. I guess this only got posted.

Well, ive been here a long while... and i've seen all the changes this site has gone through, especially in the past year or so. I know many people here, even if they probably dont know me :). I have moderated many forums. Im usually active for about 2-3 hours a day (4:00 west - 10:00 west is normally my active hours), depending on my school situation. Ive just always wanted to be a part, but like you said, have never really gotten the chance to ask until now, because I would have probably been "frowned down upon." So, I just think I could help Newgrounds a lot by being any one of those four mods. Thanks for the opportunity.

I would most like to be a forum mod.
I believe I would be a good mod because I lurk a lot so I know how the rules work, what's bannable, etc...
I'm on weekends anytime really until 5am, not usually before 2pm.
Mondays and Wednesdays usually between 9 am-12pm and 7pm-3am.
Tuesdays and Tursdays 12pm-3pm and 5pm-3am.
Fridays 9am-12pm and 5pm-5am.
My job requires me to go in anytime I want for one hour every day, so that's a variable.

I'm just on the BBS all the time. I'm in the process of designing a website for my school so I don't really have time to sift through reviews or audio or anything like that. I just like to surf around here for fun.

I have a pretty open timezone, I'm on at 5 PM everyday and available to 12 PM at night. In otherwords I can put alot of times into Newgrounds for it's benefit.

Recently the forums have appealed to me less, since the vast amount of spam and pointless posts I see. It really seems to be digressing, and I hope I could help it regain some of it's reputation.(Did you see us on SA for christ's sake?) I see alot of stuff posted as well that is downright illegal, for instance child pornography was linked in a thread and stayed on frontpage for a few hours last night. I would try my best to take that damn crap off of NG.

I would also want to be a review mod, because I could help the site in a section I believe is neglected. I love to read reviews and seeing people's opinions on flash and the like.

I am an avid fan of music, so an audio mod would be a fun and rewarding job for me. I see alot of reviews submitted that are utter garbage and would devote time as well to that aspect.

Finally an icon mod would be a nice and easy job, supplemented with one of the above positions. I haven't really seen an icon that I have found objectional, but that doesn't mean they're not out there.

In summary I think I would find the position of Forum Mod/Review mod to suit my abilities and timeframe.

Thanks Wade.

I wish to be a BBS mod. If I was a mod, I would most likely be one of the kind and caring type. I would only delete posts or ban users if I felt it would be absolutely necessary. I would be the mod of the people. I would be the mod everybody loves.

Don't let my recent sign-up date or my low post count fool you. I consider myself to be an intellectual, and I feel that I know enough of how things go on around here to be able to moderate.

I find myself to be lurking the BBS around 9:00 pm to 12:00 am. But that doesn't mean that's the only time I'm on the BBS. Also, I'm sometimes browsing the BBS after school (4:00-5:30-ish), in the evening (7:00-10:00), or the wee hours of the morning. I'm guaranteed to always be Logged on at some point everyday.

In conclusion, I feel that I would be a good BBS mod (no, really). I use newgrounds mostly for the forums, and that's what I really care about. I would be honored to serve as a forum moderator if given the chance. I would be very eager to do my part to help clean this place up, and keep these forums as clean, intelligent, and enjoyable as possible.

I'd love to be a Forum mod, however considering that I've been banned 9 or 10 times in the past 10 monts, it ain't gonna happen. :) Plus, others are way more qualified than me.

Being a Review mod would be cool, although I am curently review-banned for an old bad review, so that would make me a major hypocrite.

I don't really browse audio submissions that much, so I really wouldn't want to do that.

And the same goes for icons.

All in all, it would be cool to moderate anything, but I really don't think I'm qualified to do that.

Despite me being here for barely a year and a half, I enjoy browsing around the BBS, and that's where I spend most of my time, when I'm on Newgrounds. I have a good grasp on the rules, and I know what's good and what isn't. I wouldn't mind helping out cleaning out topics and whatnot. And I also like to try and help out others as much as I can.

And for the review mod part, when I whistle abusive reviews, sometimes I normally find the same ones not to be removed a few days later. So with some of the time I have on my hands, I would like to make sure people wouldn't make such abusive reviews, and they had the time to know about what they did.

And thanks for taking the time to reading this, Wade.

If you'd like to be more than 1 type of moderator, say a forum mod and a review mod, then list which one you'd want to be the most, followed by your 2nd choice, and if you want 3rd and 4th choices. The choices are forum mod, review mod, audio mod, and icon mod.

So if you had the chance, which type of mod would you like to be? Keep the reponses professional, and on topic. Also indicate what time, or times, you are most active on Newgrounds and how much time you spend on the site. Basically your response should be like an essay, stating what type of mod you'd like to be, and why you'd make a good mod.

I would like to be a forum mod, I have no other choices because I hardly do the other things you listed.

I believe I would be a very usefull mod, I am friends with a couple of the mods and all of them know my name. weather or not I like it I sometimes get in the habit of backseat modding. My times on NG are almost 24/7 the only time I am not on NG is during school, or hanging out with friends. But other then that I am online usually between when I get home from school wich is about 3:30 North Western time (washington) United States, to 6 PM, take a couple hour break come back at about 9PM then don't get off till about 1AM. Weekends vary of course, as I always use that time to hang out with friends, because lets face it, spending all your time on the internet is not healthy. I am a humorous poster and original, (so i'm told through PM's and on the boards alot) you can ask any of the mods, there isn't someone you see post more then me during all hours of the day. As I stated I am a humorous person, but plenty of people have seen me not go along with the fads or whatever, like people who hate rap for an example I always give an honest opinion of what I think about it not just say whateveryone else does and go like "yeah rap is for fagz" I give a thorough opinion on what I like and don't like about whatever the topic is, runescape would be another topic as well (I used to play for the longest time) those were just a couple.. And others have also noticed I can be quite intelligent in certain aspects, but alot of the times I like to joke around, because NG to me is like my home away from home...even though I come to NG alot...inside my home XD. But mostly I doubt I have been nominated because people tend to forget the important aspects on a person, then the actual ones that matter. I owe alot to NG and would like some way of helping my favorite site out. You will always find me B/P or posting, I love chatting with other NG users. I visit the clubs and crews, and am a member of the NGDD (newgrounds department of defense) and EGB (elite guards barracks) I have been here long enough to know whats good and whats bad.

I hope this is thorough enough for you :D

I would only find myself suitable to be a forum moderator. But I do beleive I would be a good mod. I spend most of my free time on Newgrounds, and especially in the general forum. (From about 5 PM to 10 PM western pacific time) I am fairly well known, and I would say somewhat respected by other users. I already try and stick up for users that seem to be getting picked on, but I can't say that I don't do my fair share of flaming, with a decent amount of sarcasim and jokeing. I don't get banned very often because for the most part I stand by the rules. I don't expect to be modded, and I don't expect you to even considder me, but I would be interested to know what it's like to see the BBS through the eyes of a mod. Also, if you did select me as a mod, and it didn't work out, you could easily remove me from the list, and I wouldn't have any complaints seeing as how this was a "once in a BBS" chance anyways.

I've always wanted to voice my oppinion on this subject, but never did because it was against the rules.

I really do not understand the logic behind a lot of people wanting to be mods. Everytime I see somebody post a "I WANT TO BE A MOD LOL" post, they usually equivicate the BBS to some sort of shitty InvisionBoard. But to those who end up becoming mods, It seems that accepting to become a mod means that you want to give up your time to babysit a bunch of shitholes, leave yourself open to constant criticism, and become a candidate for random death threats because you're enforcing the rules. Shit, look at what Sarai had to put up with while being a mod, that eventually led to her being chased out. I'm suprised that somehow, Ozcar has remained, since there are even some mods who seem to not really like him (even on a somewhat "professional" level). The only logic I see for this is that all of this shit is much like high-school, where the mods would be the "in" crowd, and they form theirselves into their own perfect little circle for popularity and power, all while everyone cannot wait to take them down a peg.

I for one would not even see myself as mod material. I'm highly opinionated, quickly judgemental, critical about even little things, and generally cannot tolerate most users on NG. It is only because I seem to be rather known by people for pointless and arbitrary reasons though, that I feel that I meet the qualification of "being popular or at least known among users," and would throw my hat into the category. I'm also on a lot during late-night, when most people feel safe to fuck around, and few mods are even on. Let's see if that's qualification enough, or if I could honestly convince anyone that reads this that I would make a good moderator.

If I could ,I would like to be a review mod. Despite that I joined today (because I forgot what my other account was), I've been here since around 2001 and have been coming here ever since. Over those years, I have seen a lot of low reviews for popular stuff. Now there was a lot of overrated flashes that are even in the top 50 sometimes now, but not every flash that was good was overrated. Some flashes were popular for a season and even though they are not remembered now, some people still do remember them, but, stupid people usually voted bad on it and spammed the author in reviews not because his/her flashes were overrated but because after working hard they were successful and gained a fan base. Usually the low reviews didn't even give any facts on why they didn't like the flash or what the person could of done to make it better. It's mostly "This flash sucks!", " Blam this!", " I don't like cartoons!", " I don't like anime", etc and any person who just came to the site could believe this without even trying to watch it or the author is wondering to him/herself "If it was really that bad, how could I fix it?" and saying " Blam this!" or " I don't like cartoons" doesn't help at all because A. All flash are either cartoons/very well cartoons or anime and B. The author doesn’t have a clue why it should be blammed especially if they really tried and it was actually good. This is why if I could I would choose to be a review mod. I wouldn’t get rid of all the bad reviews for flashes but I would help to get rid of all the unhelpful low reviews that have nothing to do with the flash and help those who marked a review as abusive clear the reviews/ get whistle points for trying to get rid of all the crappy reviews on NG.

That's just my two cents.

Also I could be on anywhere from 4PM to 12AM pretty much everyday.

I would probably want to be a forum or a review mod. That being said, the idea of having any power at NG makes me a little giddy inside.

I think I would be a good mod because I always take my time when posting, and hopefully this precaution for errors will make sure I don't abuse power or do something out of context. I believe I have a fair balance when it comes to taking sides (or not taking sides), as well as being fairly consistent with how often I visit Newgrounds.

I'm online sporatically throughout the day, I often come back to res inbetween classes, so that could be anywhere from 9:30 AM- 6:30 PM on weekdays. Weekends and evenings are fairly high traffic as well, however I'm probably online more during weird/non-traffic hours.

I've been visiting the site since the very early 2000 days, been a member since 2002, BBS regular poster since 2004. I spend a lot of time here when I'm not in class.

In order, the mod positions I would be interested in would be: review, icon, BBS, audio.

I'm online and available weekdays between the times of 3pm-11pm PST (6pm-2am EST), weekends all day.

I would say BBS mod first, but there are many others who I would consider before myself. I would happily accept though if offered. I don't feel like I am very well known though which seems to be a plus with most of the mods.

With the site growing, most people come for the flash, and I would say more people write reviews than post on the BBS. There are a lot of abusive reviews too according to the WiHt topic dedicated to them. I do my best to flag reviews abusive when they are, but to be able to watch over and moderate that privilege would be a huge honor.

I've submitted quite a few icons, and still do whenever I find the time. I think that would be a tedious job, but it would be interesting, plus it is an important job for the iconless flash that still flood the portal.

Audio wouldn't be a good choice for me, because I don't frequent that part of the site enough to know what goes down there.

Just a recap. My ideal positions would be review, icon, BBS, in that order. I hope you consider me for any moderator positions.

Thanks Wade for your time.

I personally fear the responsibilities of being a mod, so I probably would be too much of a pansy to be one. But if you held a gun to my head and asked me, then I'd choose to be a Forum Mod. Why? Because any other mod seems like a lonely job. I mean modding reviews, audio, and icons..it's like that one border officer along the border of Canada and the US that watches over the small country road border post in the middle of the forest where no one ever comes through.

Wade, I would like to request to be a forum Mod. I've been around the forums long enough, am respected by alot of mods, and I respect them. Why do I choose forum over review/icon/audio/others/ is because I know it better then said choices. I rarely break the rules, and whenever I do get banned it's usually a 1-3 day ban. So, I would like to be a forum mod. It would be a good decision, because I'm a down to earth guy, and wouldn't piss people off.

Now, Decide.

I would like to be a Forum Mod the most, because I've been with Newgrounds for a good two years, so I know how things run. I, for the most part, act maturely on the forums and point others towards where they need to go.

For instance, if someone posts a video thread, I'm usually the first to link them to the Post Videos Here thread.

I use good grammar and spellcheck all my posts.

I follow the rules, don't post illegal or hateful comments, etc.

I am a proficient Flash user, so I could help a lot in the Flash forums and help the new guys on their feet.

I'm on Newgrounds a good four hours a day at the beginning of the week (Sunday-Tuesday), at least five hours near the end (Wednesday-Thursday) and usually ten to twelve hours on weekends.

I'm glad to have this opportunity to show my maturity and have a slight glimmer of hope of being a mod, since it's one of my life's ambitions.

Y'all have a nice day now!

If I were to be a mod, I would most want to be a forum mod. I would use my powers to clean up the BBS as best I could. There have been numerous occasions where I would have loved to stop a spam thread in its tracks, delete spam posts, or simply have the grim satisfaction of banning a rulebreaker.

Otherwise, I'd like to be an icon mod, as I enjoy art and would like to monitor it becoming offical NG art, while keeping the crap out.

I tend to spent time on NG throughout the afternoon and evening, rain or shine, every day of the week. If I were a mod, I would use this time constructively bettering my online community.

Frankly, I'm just posting here for fun. My personal description is as accurate as possible, but I know hell will freeze before I am made a mod. I guess it can't hurt to dream, though.

Forum Mod

Reasons Being I am here alot and I Know what not to do most of the time. While I do understand that the forums are a large responicbility I take the time to try and make my and other peoples vist enjoyable. I know not to flame I try to help current mods, mostly with the problem of people overlookign poxpowers video thread. I almost never complain about the mod staff in the year that I have been here there is only 2 mabey 3 times that I have had any complaint. I know what is acceptible and I know what is not acceptiable. I have reported problems to mods and I keep quite about stuff untill it becomes shuch a problem that something needs to be done. if I was to have power I swear that I would not take it to my head and use it for personal vendettas or anyother reason other than soly upholding the NG rules and giudlines. Another reason I beleve that I would be a good canadate would be bcause I know what it is like to run a forum bee it small scale and low traffic or high traffic shuch as this I beleve that if people could learn to follow rules and respect others a forum would not need mods but I as well as otheres know that that will never happen so that is why I say I would be a good mod.

I would probably be a forum mod, as I usually visit the forums more then anything else on this site. If I were to be elected modship (unlikely, but amazing things happen) I would patrol the general forum mostly, as most of the rule-breakers, spammers, etc. reside there. If a topic would be considered spam, or just down right spam, I would probably lock or delete the topic to avoid it becoming a spam fest (we wouldn't want that. would we?). If a user continoulsy spams the board or just breaks one the the major rules (like posting the N word, being rasist or posting pornographic pics without a NSFW label.). Plus, I may report rule-breakers who continoulsy break the rules just to piss people off to you so you may be able to give him a punishment we can not.

Honestly, review mod would be the responsibility I would choose to be. The forum is well regulated as it is now, the audio isn't big enough to warrant the most attention, and icons are really easy to judge and only a select few people actually do it.

Review mod would be the most difficult tasks because it takes time to read through each review and determine the nature of the situation, and I would imagine would need the most help out of all the other mod choices. Review mod would also be the most helpful considering flashes is what the majority of people visit the site for.

On average, for my status on newgrounds, I spend about an hour to an hour and a half every day reviewing, depositing, posting and flagging. If given the honor of being a review mod, I would probably bump that up to about 2 and a half hours on weekdays and 3 hours on week ends. I do have a gold whistle so I know the rules and what to look out for.

I came here a number of years ago, when I was young, and never thought much about the BBS.

When I first came here, I asked questions. Flash questions, and programming questions. One of the first question threads I ever made was in the programming forum. It was about 3 years ago, maybe a little more. The person who answered it was James. After he took the time to answer my noobish question, it struck me that if an admin of such a huge site can donate their time to helping people, I think I can too.

I got into Flash, and started up Orange Fox Games. After that, I started posting in the Flash forum.

I got addicted to the BBS not too long ago. My loyalty is to the programming and Flash forum. I enjoy answering peoples questions. I don't do much community service, so it kind of makes me feel like I'm doing something good when I answer peoples questions, whether that's a valid substitute or not.

Not so long ago, I began to realize that some people on the BBS actually respect me. When you get complements like people have given me on this forum, it makes you feel respected, and to me, that's the most important thing.

So, to answer your question. Sure, being a BBS mod would be awesome. BUT, if I had to choose between being a mod, or being a respected user that people look up to and can confide in, then I'd choose the respected user any day. Whether or not there's a trade off, well, that's debatable. All I know is if people no longer looked at me as a respectable person who they can PM questions or IM me with anything they need, then my pride and joy would be gone.

The bottom line is I love posting on the BBS. Having a green name is not the most important goal that I've set for myself. The only reason I would want to be a mod would be because when I see spam or people disrespecting each other on the BBS, it kills me inside. When people call others dumbasses, yell at people who are trying to help them, I would love to be able to do something about it. I'm here a lot, so I also see a lot. All I know is this BBS is a great place. The Flash forum has so many aspiring Flash developers, it's great to see, and makes me happy. In the programming forum, I am AMAZED at the success PHP: Main has had, and it brings out the sense of community in that forum of people WILLING to devote THEIR time to contributing tutorials for little recognition, but what drives them is when they see someone say "PHP: Main helped me sooo much when I was learning PHP".

So yeah, that's my answer :)
