I recently watched elfen lied, and kiddy grade. Both are great animes, and with kiddy grade you have to get to about episode 9 before the real story line forms.

Hi guys, man am I happy. I've just acquired something so rare, most people under 18 years old have never even seen it. "The Legend of Zelda" Anime series. It's in english, and was recorded off of tv in the late 80's, but the quality is pretty damn good! Only eps 9-13 are semi-poor quality, due to low file size, and I can put up with semi bad resolution to have the whole series. The rest (Eps 1-8) are T.V. quality. Man this takes me back! I'm turning 21 in two weeks and I haven't seen these since I was 7! That's 14 years since I watched this show!!

Yep, I got the whole series; all 13 eps. The video quality of 9-13 is a bit crappy, but not all that horrible when it comes right down to it. 1-8 are perfect quality in all respects. Let me put it like this; Limewire kicks Kazaa's ass any day of the week, hahaha!

Now I'm going to try and get another childhood favorite; Captin N, the one about the kid who gets sucked into his NES and lives in the NES World, fighting with the old NES Light Gun. Man I loved that show as a kid!

If you don't have it yet, Cromartie Highschool. Either manga or anime. They're both short and funny. Manga is at least 5 volumes I think and I'm not really sure about the anime as I've only watched ep. 1-4 through promo disks.

Well, if you like 'Meca' anime I recomend My-HiME. If your into comady and action anime then Outlaw Star and FLCL is a good choice. If romantic, comady is more your taste then I'd pick Please Teacher. Its realy all a mater of choice really.

Oh and as for manga Trigun, Naruto, Bleach, Love Hina, Shaman King, and Chrono Crusade (I recomend the Anime too) are all good picks, I think.

I only finished with Elfen Lied and it's not for somebody with a weak stomach or has hatred for ecchi. But it's recommend anyways.

Kiddy Grade I haven't seen it. Anyway, Tink..DarkMoon..whatever...get me into a meeting sometime since I do Need to catch up.

I was wondering what is please teacher.
looks and sounds more like a hentai movie.
I remember trying to read the manga but it was kind of hard to get into.

Elfen Lied I've heard is sad and supposedly violent despite it's DBZish appearance in the preview I saw. It shouldn't be that violent after watching Ichi The Killer last night.

No its not Hentai, trust me its far from it. (eventhough there are parts that would make it seem like it) Its a Romance, Sci-Fi anime that just has some parts that deal with marrige and relasionships (boy, I made that sound mushy. LOL). It realy is a good anime, you should try and get it.

Yep! ^_^ That's why the quality of the eps is different. But, concidering you cannot find them any other way, no-one can really blame me for it.

Yeah, it's a good show once you get into it. Although, it's proving infinitly harder to get than the Zelda toons, since it had a much smaller fan-base.

Does antone know a website where I can get more information on Elfen Lied?

Response to Anime Club 2005-07-26 16:52:37

well, try elfenlied.net, its a decent fansite, and onegai teacher, its interesting but sometimes depends on too many cache to make it funny, but nontheless worth the watch. As for kiddy grade, I deeply recommend watching it, but if you want to get straight into the story you should start at episode nine, but watching the previous episodes just gives you an idea of how the characters are. I also recommend vandread, just on the fan that its mecha and it has an interesting premise, but its has alot of cg and if you hate cg, it might not be for you, but otherwise vandread is a good one.

Well, I guess it's time to unveil my review for the game "Unlimited Saga."

Unlimited Saga for the PS2 is an RPG style game. At the begining, yo pick out the character you want to use. each character has I know most people think all RPGs are the same, but the one has some pretty unique game play. Battle is set up in the classic RPG style but with a twist. You must select five commands, split between your party members before you attack. This works out good and bad. Good, because if you press circle you get to combine attacks to deal more devastating blows to the enemies.

Navigation System
I didnt exactly aprove ove the navigation system at first, but I've grown accustom to it. You dont walk around like most everyone is used to in this type of game, but as I've said, this one's unique. In town you dont walk around, you select your destination from a list. This truely irritates the hell out of me. In dungeons you walk around as if you were a chess piece. You select which direction you want to move and navigat your way through a maze. I dont really mind this that much, but to make things interesting, the creators thought they would add a limit to how many "turns" you get. thats the part I... for lack of kinder terms, dont enjoy. Every little thing you do in the dungeon counts all a turn. You cant heal in battle (unless you obtain a hard to find spell), so out of battle you have to press L3 or R3. This takes a turn. Moving takes a turn. Opening a treasure chest takes a turn. Treasure chests are almost always locked and trapped, this means, given you have the skills to disarm/unlock it, you have to spin the ol' roulette reel (which by the way I should mention, the whole game is based off) and every time you fail takes a turn. Needless to say it can be stressfull as hell when every almost every mission has a limit to the turns you can use before you just get thrown out of the dungeon.

HP System
Here is one of my favorite HP systems. You have Health Points (HP), and Life Points (LP). In battle a character dies if his/her LP reaches zero. The more HP you have the less likely it is that you 'll take LP damage. I dont think it's possible to boost your Max LP, but for each battle a person participates in in dungeons, even for just one turn, they boost there Max HP by one point. so If a person is used in 35 battles, they gain 35 HP when they complete the dungeon, where as another character only helped in 3 battles in a dungeon and only gains 3 HP. To heal HP you eithr press L3 or R3 outside of battle, or obtain a rare spell (I say rare because I didnt get it yet and a friend only just got it after 15 hours of gameplay) called purify or something like it. To heal LP you must use herbs though I havent found any of these yet either (again, a friend of mine found them on a character specific mission)

Attack System
The attack system is all right, though I havent fully figured it out yet. You select your attacks like you would from any Final Fantasy or other RPG style game. As I mentioned before, you must pick five attacks split amoung your party. When your attack begins you get a slot machine type reel, at first this is insignificant. After you use an attack long enough, you unlock a more advanced form of it. on the reel the new attack is a different color depending on how strong it is. so far I've seen five colors:
Level one green
Level two blue
level three white
level four orange
level five yellow
I'm not sure if there's anything strong than these yet. To unlock magic abilities, you must find magic tablets randomly in dungeons, and equip them to a character. Before I go into any more details about magic bilities, I should add that after you compete a dungeon you get this honey comb-like grid of seven spaces.each space is used to add speciel things like Weapon mastery, familiars(this has to deal with magic),magic tablets, and other skills. after adding the found magic tablet to a character, you can learn the abilities it teaches. To actually use the abilities you must have Bestial equipment of the specific elemental type, or a familiar of the same element equiped,to learn magic, you must use magic with the character learning from the tablet atleast once in a battle. after battle you get to invest points into the spell you want. each spell has it's own growth rate. Oh, I forgot to add earlier, if you press circle, or square (cant remember which one) and if the enimy doesnt attack, you make two attacks in succession. you can make up to a five hit combo.

*note, attacking causes your weapon or accessory's durability go down.

This game is some what fun, but after about ten hours of game play it gets just a little to repetitive and I've lost all will to play. I would recommend it be rented first. My rating is 3/5

So what does everyone (that actually read this) think?

I've also played unlimited, and it is a rpg for those who are hardcore rpg players. It takes alot of dedication to play that game, and I would only recommend it for those that really like rpgs. The whole hp and lp thing can be diffcult to manage because you find yourself running out of hp quickly and few healing items. Its a good game, you just have really put time into it.
