Don't worry. Pokemon cards will be extremly popular in about 20 years or so. Yu-gay-hoe cards will always only be good for cindeling a camp fire.

well, Yugioh cards kind of had a greater impact that pokemon for a time. I never got into it, but I know some people that even have all the different sets of cards and even know all those extrange rules. Too complicated for me.
I used to collect pokemon cards when they where very basic. There was just 150 pokemons. None of that cow, horse, tree, lame looking ones that are now. I used to dig pokemon for that, simplicity. Pokemon Blue and Red version were the only games that I bought.
As far as Yugioh goes, I like it but not to the point where I obsessively buy the cards. Anyone here watches Yughio on Saturday mornings?? : )

Yugioh = 18 minutes dialoge between characters. 5 minutes opening, ending. 7 minutes worth of commercials.1 minute of action.
You gotta love Yugioh. He is your friend. : )
<sarcasm>
Both Yugioh and Pokemon were just exrtavegent marketing techniques. Nothing more than a 24 minute commerical.
Hellsing Vol. 4 finally came out in my local bookstore. I'm just really surprised how different the manga is from the anime. If it weren't for the characters and the theme, it could be a completely different story.
SPOILER-------
And I can't believe how they left out the part about the Nazis.
END-------
yes yu-gi-oh is gay and not worth watching but i do collect the cards because as soon as i hear the next big thing is comeing out i'm selling them all... its an envestment... by the way i'm not posting as much because my job has really bad hours but i will try my best...

I know what you mean. There time fillers. A lot of animes have this problem. They are like intermissions. Very annoying, but if the anime is truly worth your loyalty it will keep your attention and make you wait for what you want to see!
These kind of 'watered down' (I like to call it) scenes and sometimes episodes or even sagas (Garlic Junior) probably happen to catch up to the manga. But I could be wrong. I'm surprised you guys never talk about them!
Manga is often better then anime just because of this.
BUT then sometimes when I read a manga I'll sit back and think, "Hey you know I kinda like the addition that's not in the book. It put it together for me.
EX: The Sailormoon anime when they battled the Dark kingdom up to when Nephrite died (what I got up to) kicks the crap out of the manga and 90% of the reasons I like the series is because of the Dark Kingdom/Negaverse villains. But they are nothing but emotionless cannon fodder for Queen Beryl in the manga. AND Tuxedo Mask is actually nice to Usagi/Bunny/Serena and doesn't chastise her. There is no relationship between Molly and Nephrite either and that was one of my favorite things about the whole damn thing. How the manga made it to anime I will never know.
So it's weird but I wouldn't give as much credit to Naoko Takeuchi for making Sailormoon a cult hit as I would the anime writers for the Dark kingdom saga. They are who is responcible for making me feel for the characters in a way Naoko only succeed in doing one dimensionally.
And I heard she was unhappy with the treatment the manga got when it was translated. O_o
But alas I'd say the complete opposite is true for Ranma. When the Ranma anime neared it's end and went down hill, the only episodes worth watching for me were the ones based on the manga.
Hey dragonball was cool I loved that anime its just that everyone liked it so it got boring
Hey. I had this conversation about this eons ago
but when I asked, if the reason so many in the club hates DBZ is because of popularity I got a outstanding, ‘NO that's not the case.’
C'mon sure cult stuff that not everyone knows about is cool but there are some advantages to liking something that enjoys a large audience,
Like on NG when certain authors try to do a flash homage about a certain anime never shown on regular television or Basic cable they won’t have to write long winded explanations for what’s going on ;-;
because it’s already well known.…

Dragonball got my viewership because of DBZ otherwise I would of never bothered. I wanted to know about the history of characters like Goku and Piccolo and it did keep my interest.
>:( CNW didn't put the last season out enough for me to see the end of it though. BASTARDS. How come they can find time to put there Totally Spies, Kids next door, Ed Edd and Eddy CRAParama on sometimes 3 times a day but can't manage to put Dragonball back on weekly anymore?
I knew it was a bad thing when I noticed that they were systematically removing there classic programming because of Boomerang but now they won't syndicate anything except for a few anime and shows barely a year old. That's sad. Ancient cartoons and animation no one has seen in years other networks were to scared to take a chance on is what made that channel. It is not the same place anymore. They will need to make a new station to put all the cartoons on that they have rights to that they are not showing at this rate. And I'm not talking Boomerang.
Anyway I won't be able to tottaly defend Dragonball because I nearly blinded myself watching how badly it goes downhill in GT. But I haven't seen it to its very end (You can thank CNW for that one as well) so I can't rant about it---- yet. I hope it died with some semblance of dignity.
;(

The one titled Versus Battle Two: Blue Side. I think that that's the final one, isn't it?
Hey guys, this is one huge-ass club.
Just thought I'd mention how I'm watching through the Cowboy Bebop series for the first time at the moment, and I'm absolutely loving it! It really is a work of art.
I know CB doesn't make me hardcore anime but still...

One thing was missing in that. He could have atleast used the full size leggings that Faye uses. Other than that not too shabby.
Note: I actually met that guy. He's very nice in person.
Judging by his mug I agree.

O man. You could not of started at a worse point. Yeah Blueside and Greyside technically are the end of the series but the other movies before have virtually nothing to do with it and are far superior. Notice my masterful avoidance of spoilers. :) I hope you consider watching
them.
does anyone here like the dot hack sign show?
or howbout the games?

I tried reading the manga, but it was way too confusing and I didn't start from the beginning either. It seemed interesting though, so when I have time this winter, I might go and buy it.

It's due to local legistation regulating the holiday activities of Halloween. All trick-or-treating in the Greater Columbus area is done on the last Thursay of October from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.
Hmm, could anyone give me their opinons and some info on the anime Shamanic Princess? I saw a preview for it while watching Slayers and I thought it looked pretty cool. Very odd.

Even if it was good... which it absolutely is not. How much can you possibly watch a show before you get sick of it?!
3 times every weekday! Toonami is on once a week and this shit is on three times a ^*&% day!
Mother #%#$%# stupid ass Cartoon Network!!! ><
HEY ED HEY EDD EDDY EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDY CRAP!!! So stupid it lowers your iQ just to watch the commercials for it. Grrr.

Well, I used to watch it about once a week, but now I hardly ever glance at it...

Okay, we appear to be drifting off topic, this is no place to be discussing fruity Tim Burton musicals.
Did cn ever show Robotech? I seem to recall a time when they did, but I'm probably wrong.

I don't remember them ever showing it.

Yes.

Yes. Cartoon Network showed 2 or 3 episodes of Robotech as part of Toonami's Giant Robot Week. However, they don't carry the entire series.

Yea, I saw most of it but since I was confused 99% of the time I have no idea what was going on. And the games are subpar in my opinion and only worth a rent. And dont let the prospect of the dvds that come with them make you buy the games cause the dvds are really boring.

Yes toonami showed Robotech all the episodes up to the end of the Robotech Masters series. of course that was way back when Moltar was running Toonami for the 1st 2 years. I recored all the epiosdes. Ironicly i never saw but 2 episodes of the Invid series.

I knew you were going to say that. He posted the link to it in another club, because if we post it hear club leaders get mad :(
Either way has anyone seen the anime called Hikaru? I myself have not seen it, but I sure love the first Opening and Ending song. Have to go and hear all the others, but judging by the first ones I am sure I won't be dissapointed, atleast music wise.

Well it would. It was made by the same people. And I liked it. It was called Final Flight of the Osiris.
