Seen the movie, and I have the book. The book was better in my humble opinion. And you don't need the questionmark in your sig, you can be kakashi.

Hey guys I was wondering what manga I should get into next and because I'm very visual the first thing I look at is the quality of the art work... and it hit me Takehiko Inoue's has got to be the best manga artist there is. If I wasn't so turned off by the idea of Sport manga I would love to read his stuff. Does anyone know if Vagabound is any good?

In hopes to strike up a conversation I have comprised a list of the best manga artists I know. No points for story telling people I haven't even read Inoue's stuff. :)

The nominees for best manga artists are:

Again... TAKEHIKO INOUE Slam Dunk (gorgeus work and insane attention to detail)

Eiichiro Oda One piece (mega points for style and uniqueness)

Tatsuya Egawa, Golden boy (for details and those dramatic facial changes :)

and of course Toryiama and Takahashi. No introduction or explanation needed.

O yeah just a little comment about what I like. Super deformed is cool when used sparingly and for dramatic or humor purposes but I hate when a artists entire style is mutated like that but that's just me. What do you guys think? Who do you think should be added to the list?

Yasuhiro Nightow (Trigun manga) is an amazing artist, unfortunately his shortcoming is that he's not too good with the action scenes. But the looks and attanetion to detail are beatiful.

I agree about chibi/super deformed. Used correctly, in limited amounts, for the right reasons, its ok.

i think ken akamatsu is one of the best artist but his art is repetitive. A.I love you, Love HIna, Negima. the detail becomes more evolved in each.

Myung-Jin Lee of ragnorok is a great manwa* artist with his keen eye for action details.

Yuchi Kumakura the person who made Jing: King of bandits does some great detailed backrounds and is very well rounded on diferent ones becauase each chapter is based on somthing different in a different town

But people like Woo of the rebirth manga or manwa*,i keep forgetting seems to to have a simple art style with the exeption of his complex costumes.

Heh. I guess he's just not a good writer. Did you think it was boring? I'd give it a shot if kept my interest. Also I'm not familiar with the term manwa. Teach me. Oh I checked you did.. ok. Korean manga? --- I don't even want to start that what is anime conversation again so I'll just leave it at that.

the detail becomes more evolved in each.

I noticed changes in art style for stuff like Ranma 1/2 and Dragonball but I couldn't decide if there style was changing or they were just making the characters older looking to show passage of time. I'd like to think that it's time passage but I could of swore I read somewhere Toryiama claims it was just a style change.

Takahashi on the other hand, I just feel characters like Ranma, Ryoga and Akane get taller and more older looking as the story progresses even though we are lead to believe the entire manga takes place in 1 years time so Ranma's age or grade doesn't have to change, like the Simpsons. I know Takahashi definetly has her moments of style changes most notably on Happosai from his first apearance to his later ones.

I'll be sure to check out the work of some of these artists whom I've never heard of so thanks guys.

That wasn't meant to be sarcastic or mocking. I meant it jokingly. I refuse to say wether I like someone or not when I have never physically met them I just work with what you give me, meaning what you post... and I don't like flaming so I'll just leave it at that.

Naruto isn't, but Kenshin is, and it's just safer not to talk of such things. C'mon people, vote. Who wants me out the club? Tell me if you want me to stay or go. I wont get pissed off at anyone, all I ask for is a decent explaination of why.
