Ya know there are alotta scenes in ""Fruits Basket" that reminded me of FLCL... But I dunno if you'd think it was close enough to that type of weird. Um. If you want something funny and weird though, try "Dragon Half". It's sorta funny in a silly way though. There's a slightly perverted comedy called "Labrynthe of Flames" (or something close to that spelling). I chose these since I know anyone likes comedy. Who doesn't like to laugh? ^_^

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can help me out on. But I'll probably be very lucky if anyone knows the answer.

There's a lot of Japanese Ranma songs where the cast is basically doing Karaoke and I think that it was an animated video special but I'm not sure. One of them is Ranma singing as he's changes from boy to girl another is Kodachi singing by laughing... I looked it up at :

http://furinkan.com/anime/specials.html

It sounds like it might be called the hot song contest. ;( Has anyone heard these before or seen them animated? I don't think Viz sells it.

Uh... okay. Now keep in mind that i suck with a mouse, and stylus's. Not that i have one, anyway.

The eyes should not take up half the face. Even in anime they aren't that large.

That's pretty good... did you use a cerain brush to make the nose lines thin and thicker? I made a few drawings on a computer so I can tell you its hard too. You're good.

The nose is off center, the ears should be more than lumps, for anime style thats tame hair, I've never seen anyone with such a square chin, and you have weird lines in the neck that have no business being there.

The hair should be above the eyebrows, he shouldn't be so cock-eyed, and whats with the weird ripples of light is his hair?

I messed up with space. for some reason when i made this one, i made the eyes first, then the head. don't ask, I made this late last night. No sleep - the sight in one eye - sufficient time = sloppy. I only colored it today.

The direction of light in his hair mismatches the shadow of his nose too.

I know you probably saw these long ago in Tink's forums, Shiro. But here's Risu, Valna, and Choirdelite. What do ya think? I know I need thicker lines already.

Response to Anime Club 2004-06-29 18:15:50

Goemon ^_^... hush.

Anyho. I said a moment ago how hard they were. When you draw with a mouse, you draw at like maybe 20% of what you can on paper. Try it. I garuntee you'd think a 5 year old made your drawing ^_^

Response to Anime Club 2004-06-29 18:24:09

Curious though. besides the coloring, what is bad about it? I have everything in proportion. ... I have the muscle definition... It's just that it's in paint.... And for the record it looked better before I colored it.

Response to Anime Club 2004-06-29 18:47:20

I LIKE ShiroX and Aasha's stuff! >< Atleast they draw. You think a flash site like NG would have more users who did! The important thing is keep practicing. >:( Take it from a college art student. Bitching for the sake of bitching is not helpful to artists and it certainly not helpful to users on NG that don't put out there stuff because they don't want the abuse or to be intimidated.

I've been scanning and tracing my stuff into flash more and more lately because I just can't seem to draw with a mouse anymore but it's funny I'm one of the few who thinks a wacom tablet is almost as cumbersome to control. It must be because I'm used to the mouse. Don't ask me how left handed people can ever got used to drawing or tracing in flash with a right handed mouse though. I don't know the answer.

I do, but I don't have flash, or a scanner, and I don't draw cartoons or people. Actually my favorite style to draw in is stipple (using lots of little dots close together), it takes forver but it looks really good.

I'm not bitching at them, I'm pointing out where he made mistakes so he can improve. He'll never get better if all he gets are people like aasha saying "wow, thats really good" I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm trying to heklp him.

Response to Anime Club 2004-06-29 19:12:42

BUT. I have to criticize your criticism. If you are going to criticize someone about something you should tell them the positive side of things first (and yes i realize i'm going to have this thrown in my face) then feel free to continue being "helpful"

.......

Sorry. I know I come off as being an asshole when I don't mean to, I'll try to fix that. The major problem is that I'm just really blunt.

I'm not yelling at anyone, although I'm tempted. It was more of a in-general statement. People often forget this is not just a flash site for professional artists but for amateurs as well. As a matter of fact because of authors like Knox pretty much everything you can put into a flash player and manipulate has become acceptable.

So you don't even need to draw all you need is creativity. My point is everyone starts in the gutter. The best authors are the ones that don't give up. A crappy flash artist who keeps submitting until he gets it right is worth more then a thousand talents who are to lazy or disenchanted to bother contributing.

I think that the first Inuyasha movie should be coming to the US soon. You'll be able to find it at Media Play then. Media Play and Suncoast are the 2 best places that I know of to get anime or Manga. I have a Replay card there so whenever I buy something I get money back.
