I've watched the Japanese version on International Channel, and although I didn't know what the characters were saying, I knew what was going on. This is the exact opposite of the English version on Cartoon Network. By the way, I liked the Japanese theme much better than the rap-inspired crap the Cartoon Network version uses.

From what i have gathered FLCL is kinda about how Naota (Main Char) is always trying to be cool (via frist epsiode when Mamimi askes him why aint he doing his homework at home and he states "its not cool") and he is always trying to live up to be like his older brother because he left. idk its kinda weird to me to but after you watch it a couple of times it makes more sence =) (there is that better no more ^^) =D
