It looks like Toonami is shorter this week. After the DBZ Kai marathon on Easter weekend, they dropped Sword Art Online: Alicization and now run from Midnight to 3 AM.
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

Well, this season seems lost. So many shows getting delayed.
At least we still have Otome Game Villainess and Tower of God for now.
Toonami is airing Paranoia Agent, which is a bit of a surprise to me, even though they do throw the occasional curveball series every year. I probably would imagine that this is Satoshi Kon’s most famous work, or the most accessible work at least, and a psychological seinen series does break up the shonen heavy block.
Speaking of which, a lot of people have suggested that I watch Black Clover, but from what I’ve seen, it’s basically a lot of the worst habits of the previous Big 3 SJ series. (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece) I know that any show that was going to follow Jojo, Hunter x Hunter and even My Hero on Toonami was going to be a tall task, but I just find it hard to embrace BC when those shows did everything either better or deconstruct genre tropes while BC plays everything straight.
I know that they say it gets better after 20 episodes or so, but what’s the point of that if you are just skipping most of the main characters backstories? (Although it seems like most of them are more 1 dimensional archetypes than actual characters.)
In short, is Black Clover really worth watching or is it just one of those day late and dollar short series?
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

I would rather see a repeat of a series, than end it early.
Well, I started reading BTOOM last week.
Dropped it after a couple volumes because I realized the character is a fucking creep who is horny for a teenager, every character is dumb as hell, and the plot is way too slow.

so i randomly started watching the anne of green gables anime from 1979. i thought it would be a boring show considering the subject matter but it is just amazingly good, the animation and music are high quality, i just love the dialogue and characters. the plot actually deals with fairly mundane subject matter, but it just goes to show that anything can be interesting if the writing is good.

Damn I never heard of this. I love Japanese takes on western classics, especially when the adaptation is vintage in its own right.

theres also a Treasure island anime which is really good, and future boy conan is also based on a western novel.
For reasons I don't care to guess at, Toonami dropped JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and replaced it with Ballmastrz 9009.

I wish I were making this up.
As funny as Ballmastrz 9009 is to me, that does suck. Is it out of the lineup completely?

According to Wikipedia, production of the dub is delayed due to COVID-19. The part I didn't understand is why they chose Ballmastrz to replace JoJo.
Toonami aired the season finale of My Hero Academia last weekend, and have announced a 4-hour Dragon Ball Super marathon for the 4th of July.
This poses a two-part question:
Hello fellow men of culture. Does anyone know when the next seasons of overlord and shield hero appear? I mostly watch romance to fill my void, but I also liked those shows a lot. I am not active in any anime community so they could've already been released without my notice.
I do 3D art and stuff idk

I know I'm answering my own question, but I just checked Toonami's website to see their schedule for this Saturday. It will run from Midnight to 3 AM, starting the night with Dragon Ball Super. The rest of the lineup is unchanged.
Someone talk to me about the greats!
Dr. Stone - will help me save the natural world
Demon slayer - taught me total concentration
The promised Neverland - yummy orphans!
Paranoia Agent - some truths are stranger than fiction..
And I'm open to others! Just lmk if I'm in for gore/echi stuff. 1<3
Summer is looking better than expected. Deca-Dence is shaping up to be a surprise hit.
The last two weeks of Toonami have been weak Batman animated films. Very lame.

They said it was for DC FanDome. This week, they'll be back to anime, including the premiere of Assassination Classroom Saturday at 1:00 AM.
What did everybody think about the premiere of Assassination Classroom? Did it live up to the hype?

Thank you!
Since Toonami has been so short, they might as well air original Naruto before it. The episodes are old, but can get you in the right frame of mind.

This. Even if I personally think the series took a nosedive in quality come Shippuden (especially in the last few arcs, but it's ultimately just my opinion), I will always have fond memories of me watching the OG Naruto series as a kid.

There were some disappointments, but overall it was a good anime. OG Naruto should be first before Toonami.

Maybe I got into Naruto a bit too late but most of the arcs weren't memorable and I found Sakura annoying as fuck. The entire Gaiden series felt like a more forgettable Bleach filler arc, and that's after skipping all the Naruto fillers.
I got so disinterested by that point I couldn't give a fuck if Naruto drowned in a river in the first episode of Shippuden. It didn't even leave a taste in my mouth.
It's a good shonen for kids...and I think that's a large part of why people liked it - they watched it as kids or teens which shonen is great for. After that though it tends to miss the mark, for me at least.

Assassination Classroom is getting more interesting as it goes. Its not all just trying to murder the teacher in every episode, maybe every other. lol

Yo the students and Kuro Sensei are what make the series so entertaining. Nakamura is by far my favorite.
Also, you guys gotta download KATSU, its better than most anime apps on the app store in opinion.
