That is a classic. You just watched it? What did you think?

Glad that you enjoyed it. When I first saw it, years ago, I was blown away. It was so different and unique from anything else. It still feels cutting edge today.
hell yesssss, i honestly think its better than most anime nowadays.

It probably could be called that, and I would certainly agree. The original can be very hard to beat.

Akira is a classic and badass anime ever and alway will be.

I would always tell people to watch it first, if they was curious about anime.

Lol I don't get this kind of thinking - why would it be surprising that one of the most highly rated and widely beloved animated films ever released is better than the average fluff we see today?
90% of the anime from any year is garbage and even somewhat popular stuff is immediately forgotten, when people are still talking about a specific film 30(!) years later then obviously most modern anime isn't even gonna compare.
New Toonami tonight. Make sure to check it out before they begin holiday repeats. Ugh
Finally on Christmas Break for around two weeks, then back to college to make up a class. I should watch some anime while I'm home. I need to catch up on Boruto, and I'd like to finish Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Or should I just read the manga for that one? What do you guys think?
I also asked for a box set of the Monogatari Series of light novels for Christmas, I hope they continue the audio books for them. Chances seem slim though...

Anime does make things much better.

Boruto is good if you watch at least four or five episodes. Just to get the feel of it.

Enjoy your Christmas present.
I'm reading the Sword Art Online light novels now. At chapter 11 volume 1. Gonna finish the Aincrad arc and see all the stuff I missed.

Do you prefer the novels or the anime?

I like the anime despite it's flaws but I dislike how it left out details concerning the worldbuilding.

I always treat the anime and the novels are to different worlds. If not, you end up nit picking which one is different and why.
Just started watching Darker Than Black. I'm 3 episodes in and I'm loving it so far.

Actually, I've started Boruto. I'm just not far at all, literally on episode 23. I like it though. I read some of the manga, so I know a bit of what happens, but it seems the anime is going a lot faster than the manga, so I switched.
Also, speaking of light novels, has anyone read the Haruhi Suzumiya ones? I'm on The Indignation of Haruhi Suzumiya (the eighth one out of ten/eleven), but haven't had the time to read it. Plus, I prefer to listen to audio books while I read, and there aren't any for these. Either way, I was just curious to see if anyone else had read them. I actually skipped the last short story of one of them because I was so sick of Endless Eight (If you know the series, you know what I'm talking about), but it turns out that the one I skipped was important. Should've done my research, heh.
And finally, on the topic of Haruhi, Yuki (Disappearance ver.) is best girl, IMO.

I've got one: Rude_Boy_EEEE. It's not much though, and I really gotta update the look of my list. I gotta learn more about Photoshop...
Also, sorry if the picture I posted is too big. Artist is Nanabuluku, by the way. Found it on Danbooru.

Very nice choice. Good times.
I watched the finale to SSSS.Gridman. I felt the series was a good show, and while I'm not much into toku shows, the influence is strong and felt refreshing to watch. I'm sad it ended in just 12 episodes, but also relieved it decided to be short and sweet instead of something that only becomes a chore to keep up with. Apparently the show is enhanced if you've seen the original Gridman show, it's live action adaption, and a good amount of Ultraman, but I liked the whole thing regardless.
I'd spoil the finale, but I can't. It's not big, but it's unlike anything I've seen in anime so far. It's real interesting.

How's everyone doing? Has anyone here been following the fall 2018 anime season?
Doing okay, but not looking forward to the holidays. Yes, watching anime this season.

Ah okay. Nothing wrong with that.
Unfortunately, I don't have the same passion for this site anymore like I used to. I just felt the sudden urge to check on this site to see how things are going, after being away for so long.
It happens to many users. Something better or more important comes along. Only the very dedicated would go on a website everything day and be active for over ten or more years.

Which anime are you watching?
I still like Attack on Titan. Yeah I said it. Plus, getting into Boruto.

Thanks. I am always active around here.
By the way, is this site dying? I went to the general forum and I was surprised that there were only 6 users there, including me; it was very depressing to see.
It depends on who you ask. It does seem like the forums are slower. Not much you can do about that.
We did recently get a bunch of new artists from Tumblr.

Do you only watch mainstream anime? There's nothing wrong with that, though.
Yes, I normally do. I am a big fan of Toonami. :)
Where do you watch your anime?
Here are my plans for Winter
Watching
Ueno-san: Lewd guilty pleasure show
Spec-Ops Asuka: Dark magical girl stuff
Neverland: Keep hearing great things about it
Slime: I'm a little burnt out on fantasy and isekai, but this series is really good
Shield Hero: This will be a controversial show like Goblin Slayer was
Maybe
Boogiepop: Do I need the original?
Dororo: Scratches the same itch as Golden Kamuy, minus the food and homoromantic vibes
Daika: Is this trying to be Macross?
Unknown
That Type-Moon thing
No... Just no
Ass Detective: Self-explanatory
W'z: Hand Shakers was terrible and I'm not sure why GoHands is going for a repeat
Virtual-san Looking: Even without Ai Kizuna... Why?
Lots of CG and sequels this season. For better or worse, not watching any of them.

Gridman was great. I grew up watching Syber Squad and the nostalgia trip made it very rewarding.
