Recently finished Franken-fran. Fantastic stuff, I really enjoyed it. Otherwise, it's been a slow week in between the seasons. I've been reading a couple chapters of dorohedoro trying to get back into it. It really shines at some points but others I really don't know what the author wants to do with his story. The pacing is just really annoying. Other then that, it features an amazing setting and great art. The world god only knows confirmed for 100 more chapters and a harem end- which really pisses me off. Anyone with a heart wants a kanon end. Gantz manga still shitty; still reading out of lack of reading material. The manga has really been shit this whole arc.

I am a hero confirmed for the best manga of 2012. Zombie waifu confirmed for god tier.

Saint seiya 01 was shit. A little disappointed but I expected it. This season really isn't looking too great. The new noitamina timeslot is shit. The Jazz show doesn't seem that bad but I know it's going to be shat up with a love triangle and boring characters. It's a fucking shame. That other show is just straight fujoshi bait. I'll give it a shot, but I'm really not expecting much. The color scheme looks appealing though. I don't see why people are so pumped for mysterious girlfriend X. The manga went to shit after the first 15 chapters. The art style is really the only thing that's worth watching it for, but with the show's lack of budget I doubt it will be anything really insane. If they didn't fuck up the voice actors I probably wouldn't be this negative about it.

HunterxHunter continues to be the only fucking anime worth watching. Shin New York arc next episode; shit's about to get real. I might give Horizon another shot. I was enjoying the show and I never really planned to drop it, it just kinda happened. These last couple of seasons have been terrible. There hasn't been a decent manly anime since black lagoon and it's been more than a couple years if we're not counting the oav's. The current state of anime is just really fucking horrible. I don't see why a studio doesn't want to pick up sanctuary and animate it. It's widely regarded as one of the best stories told through manga, but studios just don't have the nuts these days to tell a story. The only decent thing getting an adaptation this season is zetman, and even that went to shit after around 40 chapters.

I know about this one, but the lack of a decent English translation has made me stay away from it. That said, I figure since it's only 21 episodes, and the fact that it doesn't come off as a particularly complicated story, I may as well give it a try. And I'm on a classic anime stretch anyway with Slayers NEXT and the following installments after it.

Also currently reading Banana Fish-- a shoujo crime drama. Two type of things I really enjoy so I've been on one hell of a good ride. I recommend it to anyone looking to read a good crime centered manga.

It's not hard to see the parts where New Getter Robo OVA took inspiration from/copied Shin Getter Robo (e.g. Ryouma's visit to the future while test-driving Shin Getter, all of the machines powered by Getter Rays going berserk and Getter Emperor).

Started with Naruto so I still love that by default. Then I got into One Piece which I think is probably my favourite. I've watched shitloads more though. Deathnote was amazing and Ao No Exorcist is in my favourites too. Probably the most recent one that I watched was Soul Eater, which I fucking loved. It's got some good intro songs too lol

well I stream mostly on animefreak, but there are a lot more that I use sometimes like if animefreak doesnt have any good quality versions of an episode I wanna watch, but ya google is your best friend. also animefreak isn't really big on the hentai...

I'm fine with discussing piracy since it's realistically the only way someone who doesn't speak japanese can keep up with stuff that's come out even remotely recently or that isn't a mainstream release or crunchyroll/similar. I won't allow people directly linking to torrent sites or whatever, but we have to accept that people do it and we should be able to chat about it at least.

Like he said before, if we did buy the content from japan (Say BDDVD, DVD, Manga), it'd be in Japanese without an English sub. And as astounding as this may be, not all of us are fluent when it comes to listening/reading Japanese. So, as long as we aren't hotlinking to torrents, or anything like that we should be okay. Which is completely understandable.
