Pretty good, overall.

So I've fallen off from watching anime for the past couple years, can anyone recommend some good ones that came out after Darker Than Black and Black Lagoon?

I've been watching highschool dxd and the stories pretty good too sorta generic but still good none the less. Also if your into fanservice its kinda an extra plus.

So Newgrounds is different... Been looking for some good heartwarming anime to watch. Something that I can just zone out on that will make me feel good inside. Give me some recommendations.

Kaleido Star is pretty much the best for that.

If you can deal with reading a VN, check out G-Senjou no Maou. The 'true' ending/epilogue is great and makes you feel great, after all that shit that you went through in the story (the twist at the last chapter is bad and leaves some plot holes/messes up the narrative, but it's still a heartwarming end).

Yea, I have already seen Kaleido Star it was a pretty cute show. Not something I would really want to re-watch though because it is so lengthy. Thinking about just re-watching the first season of Spice and Wolf or a couple of Ghibli movies if nothing else looks interesting. Damn call center job is eating away at my soul.

I think you tried watching it before and gave up because you tried to marathon it, but I'll suggest it anyway, Aria. It takes a lot of time and patience, but if you manage to get through to the third series, you're rewarded for your time with three or so episodes of non-stop bitch tears.

Also, caught up (almost) on chihayafuru, wow. That moment when she finds her parent's folder for her got me good man.

I know, that was the moment I realised it would be one of the best anime of the year.

Yea, I ended up picking up Aria again a while back. When I moved in to my apartment I was without internet for a week so I picked up a lot of shows I lost patience with previously. At this moment I am watching Fate Stay Night and debating if I should preorder this awesome Saber fig (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10171956). Gonna wait for Nisemonogatari bluerays come out then pick up that. Just finished all the Suzumiya Haruhi stuff this weekend. Thought the movie was great, and I would have loved the show as well except that one episode that kept repeating it self over and over again that made me want to pull my hair out. What do you people think about Hanasaku Iroha by the way? This seems like just the kind of 'SOL cute girls doing cute things' show I am looking for.

Yea I wasn't interested in watching the show previously so I always avoided any threads/post related to it. I suppose I should have read more posts filled with spoilers before watching the show.

The Borrower Arrietty? It came out a while ago. It was a good movie. Nothing amazing but a nice watch. MC is cute, all characters are likeable, animation is great. Standard Ghibli movie.

I totally forgot how super tits Darker Than Black is. I'm gonna order the second season soon, which I've not yet seen. The box set comes with the OVAs as well, which I've also not yet seen. I might also order a VHS copy of Abashiri Family. I'm curious about it. Go Nagai is very hit and miss, in my opinion, but when he does well, it's very entertaining.

I watched Wicked City again this morning. I hadn't watched it in a very long time. I love the designs of the creatures and the sound effects. It occasionally reminds me of the Thing. Also, it really borders on hentai. I don't mind it, but Jesus, Kawajiri is a pervert.

Yeah probably, it's pretty decent. There's a little more going on than in K-On, but not much. Some of it's a lil' predictable but it's pretty enjoyable, although I personally didn't think that the ending arc was great, there were plenty of other decent moments in it. Not the best series ever, but certainly enough to unwind to.

if Mendou was around he'd be able to fill you in on a lot of good stuff. i know you're asking about anime after those but how about some suggestions overall?

i forget what series you've seen so i apologize if some of these you've already seen or if some don't suit your tastes.

Great Teacher Onizuka
Ghost in the Shell(all the movies and the two tv series)
Nichijou
Grave of the Fireflies
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure(i thought they were good/haven't read the manga yet)
Kaiji(season 1 & 2)
Akagi
Kemeko Deluxe!(fanservice heavy fyi)
The Wings of Honneamise(i high recommend this one)
Sword of the Stranger(really good too)
Trapeze
Mushishi

Kemeko Deluxe! is the only one that really has fan service that I'm certain of. that's about all that i've seen since your last 'vacation' from this place. i'm honestly surprised no one has suggested anything for you. it seems the newer people don't know of you saddly.

do you plan on dropping in every once in while or just whenever you are summoned?

i'm sure you've heard of it or even seen it: Nichijou. it's not 'heartwarming' like a lot of others but it's great.

ROZEN MAIDEN. both seasons(12eps each i think?)and the OVA. one of my favourites and it's quite charming. beware though it's more of a shoujou and it deals with a 'slightly' socially autistic kid who is afraid of going outside or to school who has a doll/stuffed animal interest and winds up obtaining a super rare doll that is basically like a human except for the doll body.

if you want to do some reading try Love Hina, A.I. Love You and Chobits.

Well, I mean, there's Darker than Black season 2 if you never caught that, yet. Otherwise I suggest Redline, that movie is....something. Something awesome, at least.

I have already seen Nichijou it is a pretty amazing show. I will check out Rozen Maiden and watch a couple episodes once I finish up Fate Stay Night. Thanks for all the recommendations people.

Was also wondering have any of you been to AX?

If you answered yes was it a enjoyable experience?

Would it be fun to go to a expo alone?

Is it cheaper to buy figs/merch from a big expo rather then importing?

I was considering attending AX this year so your answers would be very helpful.

By bad. I don't play VNs either. I tried getting in to Steins; Gate, Clannad and Katawa Shoujo VNs just wasn't able to find them entertaining. Maybe if I could play them on my work computers they would entertain me. I really enjoy reading while at work. I prefer cartoons and video games when I am at my apartment.

Did you watch the anime of Steins;Gate? If you didn't like that, something is wrong with you. Can't judge Clannad's VN, but I was thoroughly unentertained by the second season. The first season's comedy was what kept me coming back. Katawa Shoujo is pretty fucking awesome, gotta say.

Have you ever heard of Saya no Uta or Yume Miru Kusuri?

Also, who else besides me has spilled gallons of semen over Monster Girl Quest?

I liked the Steins;Gate anime. I have also probably previously posted about this but I am a proud owner of a Makise Kurisu Kotobukiya fig. I wanted a Mayuri, or Okabe fig but have yet to see a well made one so it has been on the back burner.

I went to see it with my girlfriend last summer. Personally, I liked this film. It's a cute story with likeable characters and the art is indeed beautiful (especially the garden scene looks wonderful).

Outside of Hayao Miyazaki's works, I think it's one of the best Studio Ghibli films. There's still a handful that I haven't seen yet though.
