FT is good. If you want a good, shorter Shounen, then you can't go wrong with it. You could even try Toriko if you wanted.

I'll recommend a few. They'll be more modern ones since, I'm sure you're the same with all that business.

Nodame Cantabile
Tatami Galaxy
Cowboy Bebop
Mushishi
Samurai Champloo
Planetes
Big O
Monster
Gungrave
Terra e

Those are some okay starters I guess.

I know, I just like seeing the changes they make. Some are so pointless and unnecessary it's funny. Kind of like brock throwing a sandwich at ash.

As for your question:

Those are dubbing companies? I thought those were the companies that made the show. Eh, i'll just say both and save the further explanation.

I thought it was pretty good, but nothing really to write home about, per se. Especially comparing it to the other dubs that Bandai has done, {i.e Code Geass, TMOHS, TTGL, etc.} I dare say that's it's a step back compared to the others I've just mentioned, IMO.

For some reason, I keep trying to avoid watching K-ON!, and now I have a sudden urge to watch it now, almost like a cold vise like grip is closing in on me. {metaphorically, of course.}

Disgaea 4?! When did this happen?! How did I NOT know this came out? Damn it! Well, Disgaea 3 is off my list, time to get part 4. I already played part 1 & 2, watched every episode of the show and played most of the spin-offs. At least the ones I know about.

It's not that bad. Sure, there's no gripping drama, stunning plot twists, nail-biting cliffhangers, or actual playing of music, but you don't need them to have an enjoyable anime. Even if nothing happens, it's still very fun, and to deny its charm is pretty foolish I think. It's not for everyone, but it is for most people. It's just a simple lighthearted comedy.

Talking of simple lighthearted comedies, I watched Moshidora recently. A lighthearted comedy about a girl who starts managing her high school baseball team using a professional management book, it's not bad. It's got some flaws though, such as it being hard to identify the various baseball players when they're in their helmets because all anime faces look the same, and all the characters are far too emo. There's one touching scene in the second to last episode and all these unrelated bit-characters were crying and it kinda broke the tension for me. It's like the ending of pokemon where all these pokemon who didn't know Ash were all crying after he was killed, except it's not someone sacrificing themselves to protect all of mankind.
Still, not devastatingly bad (although the intro to every episode spoils the ending :|), and I loved the design of the MC, her hair was done up in a pretty cute way.

It's not actually devastating. I don't really like yui's voice that much but the others aren't nearly as bad as they could be.

The dub is surprisingly not as bad as I imagined, the only voice I really didn't like was Sawa's.
The other's seem to suit the characters alright.

I probably wouldn't watch this dubbed though, mostly cause I'm used to the original VA's

Cutting through Speed Grapher and Marco(3000 Leagues in Search of Mother). SG is a surprisingly enjoyable action series from Gonzo, it's abruptly violent, full of sexual fetishes. But the plot actually keeps pretty consistent instead of indulging on shock factor.

Dub also helps make the show even better.

Marco is a pretty gripping drama so far. About a boy and his family in Genoa Italy who goes searching for his mother in Argentina, after leaving to find work there. I don't have any doubts that Takahata will provide a beautiful coming of age story, perhaps one that'll surpass even Remi.

Doesn't really excuse the fact that it's popular for no real reason other then that it has 'charm'. Even when there are better SOL's out there which deserve more credit then K-on does.

I loved some of the hideous mutations and things that a lot of the enemy-of-the-weeks had, I don't know if you've got that far yet but the dentist was pretty memorable to me. It wasn't a perfect series but certainly was pretty interesting up to the end.

Dub also helps make the show even better.

So after meandering around for god knows how many episodes Hanasaku Iroha finally pulled its head out of its ass and has some semblance of a story moving.

And now there are only 2 episodes left to develop and resolve it.

I am disappoint.

Doki actually does a pretty good job for the most part. There hatred is undeserved. They make mistakes occasionally but so does every fansub group. There encoder also does a great job. There content always look very clean. Anyways I am finding LOGH kind of boring so far although I have only watched 3 episodes so I will keep working away at it. Gonna take LOGH slowly and give it a fair chance because if I marathon it I will either end up dropping it or killing myself. Finished up Monster a day or two ago; ended up being a great show. It will go down as one of my favorite watched shows so far. The plot twists in it where rather interesting and the ending was perfect. At the same time I am rewatching 1080 rips of Mushishi. When I am done with Mushishi I am gonna try out GTO and Spice and Wolf. Been savoring Aria the Natural. On episode 10 now and I have been working on it for months. I love watching that show when I have a shitty day; it just takes me in to a state of ignorance and engulfs me with cute girls doing cute things. I don't really talk about anime much irl unless I am asked about it and for the most part I wouldn't try to hide it but Aria is one of the few shows I wouldn't want someone to know I enjoyed.

The views on S2 are pretty mixed -- some enjoy it, some hate it. I loved it, but still kinda disappointed with the ending. It ditches the episodic story arcs for just one complete arc.

Tried to watch fist of the north star, I want to see the original, not this new fangled one. Unfortunately all I could find were original Japanese versions. I would like ti english dub. Im also a cheapskate and trying to watch it free. I should probably just deal with the non-dubed version and watch it in Japanese?

The orginal Fist on the North Star series has been dubbed by Streamline in the '80s, but I wouldn't really recommend watching it in english, so you're better off watching it in with the subtitled version. {unless you really like cheesy dubs in the 80's.} Also note that the series itself is censored, compared to the movie version, which has all of the bloody goodness intact.

You're much better off watching it with subtitles. The voice cast for that show is absolutely legendary; like all the big players back in the day were in that show. It's a huge disservice to the show and yourself by watching it in english, and they even removed the original ost with incredibly unfitting music.

No, it wasn't. The tv show's first 36 episodes were dubbed into English by Manga Entertainment in 1999. Streamline dubbed the movie version in '91

Get your shit right.

Sorry, that slipped my mind. No need to be an asshole about it.

Anyways, I'm really up in the air about watching DTB season 2, and judging by what people are saying, it's roughly 50/50 either loving or hating it. I'm usually not big on sequals, only because a lot of them tend to be really disappointing compared to the first season. {Haruhi comes to mind.} Also, I'm now going to give Steins; Gate a go, probably a good time to start considering a lot of my friends keep recommending it.

The dub for Fist of the North Star sucks. Just watch it subtitled.

The new Thundercats is awesome. Has anybody else been watching it?

I got Trigun and Blue Gender on DVD for my birthday. I've been rewatching Blue Gender.

Watched Dead Leaves. It was rather disappointing. It made me giggle a few times and that the only positive thing I can say about it. Story line was underdeveloped, and uninteresting; animation was subpar. Some one recommended me this ages ago so I was expecting for it to be at least decent.

Can anyone help me remember the name of this anime for me:

This is a rough description btw, so the things I say might not be actually true so bear that in mind.

This anime had characters that had demon legs/mecha legs or whatever that makes them either physically stronger, run faster, or being able to fly (by using smoke fumes coming out of their legs). I remember seeing it like a long time ago (2003-2004+) and now I'm trying to find it so that I can finish watching it and also for the pure nostalgia value of it. (it aired on TV so I didn't get to finish the anime)

Does anyone have any idea on what the name of this anime is?

Thanks in advance.

It is crazy how much better madVR handles hi10p then the latest coreavc. I was watching the first episode of Kanon in hi10p and it was tearing everywhere to the point where it was unwatchable. I then switched my renderer to madVR, and uninstalled coreavc; now the playback is fucking flawless. Why do people pay money for CoreAVC?

It is, you just gave a bad description of it.

Nope, the main characters were different. They didn't use swords as a weapon only their feet. And If it was Inuyasha then I would recognize since that anime has been around for a long time.

The one I was talking about in the description is completely different. The anime probably only had like 30 episodes or something and it definitely wasn't the same type of genre as Inuyasha.
