It's been available in the West and Europe for several years. In English to boot. DBZ Kai is always being broadcasted on tv these days.

I don't hang around DBZ forum topics and stuff.
It's perfectly available elsewhere, even on wikipedia.

I have never once heard or seen anyone say "Oh yeah and by the way napa means cabbage!"
"Whuh?"
"KAMEHAMEHA!"

Well, that's your own fault.

Anyway, 'bout time to start picking up manga more regularly. Working through Miyuki right now and it's pretty pleasant.

i should probably take a look at your list for other series as well. i finally got around to watching Sword of the Stranger the other day. great movie and the backgrounds were top notch IMO. i just love me some earth tones. that and i watched GTO and Grave of the Fireflys.

GotF was sad/depressing but it didn't make me tear up and cry though. i guess it's just a certain mindset. but seeing how i'm a touchy feely kind of person, it should've had a bigger impact. hell, GTO was more emotional for me. not sad or anything but anger and laughter.

fuck you miyabi. cunt.

'kay.

At least there'll be (a lot of) fanservice, whether I dislike it or not.

If I'm not mistaken, the characters were created by CLAMP, which is infamous for creating females with large boobs and general eye candy, among others. Although I will say that even with an epic amount of fanservice CG has, the attention to detail is rather top-notch IMO.

If I had to sum Code Geass as a whole, {S1 and R2} it's basically one of those high-octane thrill rides, with bits of strategy, psychology and obvious fanservice casually thrown onto itself for good measure. Simply put, it's one of those animes where you either love it for it's high-octane battles, subtle jabs at society in general, and rampant fanservice, or hate it for the exact same reasons I've just mentioned.

And in complete honesty, I'm really more of a Kallen man myself, and I'll simply stop right there.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I was wondering what new anime is out there that is worth watching right now. I was sort of burned out on anime watching a while ago, {what with work and stuff} and now I'm trying to catch up. About the only 2 anime series I'm following right now is Tiger and Bunny and Durarara!, which I keep putting off.

Any sugesstions? {preferbaly something to do with martial arts or thrillers/horror}

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

While when you have as many accounts as I do and upset mods as much as I do it is hard not to post on them occasionally.

That's nice and all but it's against the rules.

I sort of hope one of your other accounts is banned right now so you can get done again for ban evasion.

This episode and the previous were relatively weak, but next one looks to be a scorcher.

I reckon that the other heroes won't be able to resolve their problem, to highlight how amazing tiger and bunny are, which is a shame since i'd like to see them taking the spotlight at least a bit.

Also does maverick know about kaede's powers yet?

He must do after seeing her restore the other heroes memories.

Also the creator of T&B said at Comiccon that theyd love to do more T&B, so definitely look out for a s2, although it might just show the bit that was skipped over when T&B went from hating each other to best friends, because he said he wanted to fill that gap.

Also I want to see Blue Roses' relationship with Tiger develop more.

Yes I know it won't work out but I can hope can't I.

I think that's common knowledge to everyone here that 4kids ruins every anime that they get their hands on, I mean you have to be living under a rock or something to not notice that over the last 5 years or so.

As for your question:

Funimation
Bandai Entertainment
Viz Media
{about 80% of anime in America are dubbed by one of these 3 companies, and the vast majority of the time, they do a decent to excellent job at what they do.}
Disney {with Studio Ghibli}

At 9/6/11 09:37 AM, Tramps wrote: Just watched the last of Baccano. Great series. Wish there was more. Seeing Isaac and Miria in the modern day was hilarious.

IIRC, the DVD/Blu-ray release had three extra episodes so you might want to watch those. Other than that, a second season isn't very likely at the moment. If you want more Baccano, you'll probably have to wait forever for translations of the novels to finish (only three or four of them have been fully translated so far).

You should check out Durarara. The anime is based on another series by the same author as Baccano.

Response to Anime Club 2011-09-06 10:42:20

Tramps, you should watch some shit like:

Action:
samurai champloo, cowboy bebop, darker than black, michiko to hatchin, tengen toppa gurren lagann, black lagoon, code geass

Comedy:
azumanga daioh, flcl, the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, k-on

Drama/other/whatever:
Mushishi, neon genesis evangelion, death note, planetes, ergo proxy

Also you should watch some anime movies: As well as all of the studio ghilbi films, the satoshi kon films (perfect blue, paprika, millenium actress, etc), you should watch 5 centimeters per second, tekkon kinkreet, eve no jikan, akira, redline, summer wars, mind game.

To find out any more about these shows and things, go to a website like myanimelist (but for the love of god don't look at the forums there, just the actual info :p)

Also, the K-On Bandai dub, Discuss.

It's not actually devastating. I don't really like yui's voice that much but the others aren't nearly as bad as they could be.
