He doesn't critique them the only thing he does is say there shit. I wouldn't be pissed about it if he would say why he doesn't like them. Its not helping anyone form better opinions when your just throwing shit at it without giving it a fair assessment. I have watched too many anime series to count in my days and most of it isn't the stuff in US. Immediately calling any show that got popular enough to be adopted by our culture shit is stupid.

Accept the shows I criticize are ones that I've.... wait for it.

How arrogant to assume that just because I criticize something, I haven't seen the show. It's people like you that truly do give this fanbase an awful name, you just latch onto everything possible, even if it's complete garbage because you're disillusioned into thinking what you're watching is credible. it really is that kind of mindset that has ruined the industry, because all of you want the same shit.

Another thing, you imply that just because an anime had mild success in the West must mean it's good. Which is untrue considering the vast amount of licensed titles are action/harem/rom-com. Many of which are forgettable. Just look at Naruto.

I guess that makes Inuyasha, Pokemon and Naruto true masterpieces then? You're assuming once again that Popularity= Quality. It merely reflects the attention it gains, not it's actual merit.

This wasn't what I was saying at all. I was saying you shouldn't assume a anime is shit without giving it a chance because its main stream. I know there are still shit mainstream anime. Reread what you quoted please because i think you misinterpreted a pretty clear statement, or you just wanted to be a ass.

Hey guys, I am starting to rip episodes, special features, and all sorts of gooey things off of a GIGANTIC anime collection that my friend and I have gotten together over the years. There is about 100 full length animes in this collection, and I am going to be ripping some of them for direct download on a server instead of a torrent file.

The first one I am ripping is Cowboy Bebop *remixed*. Would anyone be interested in getting this file, or me posting links for downloading these files in the future on this thread?

Yeah it is, and the picture quality is a lot better as well with some added deleted things.

Alright, I guess I will be adding some videos every now and then. Expect full download for the cowboy bebop series by tonight, and then maybe another animate in another few days, and another, and another... the list will be updated accordingly.

Well, that Kermit for you, It's almost like you're not allowed to have an opinion on a certain anime {other than Hnk or Cowboy Bebop}, because he's going to whine and moan because it's too "kawaii" or too mainstream, or something like that.

Comparing him to Glenn Beck is almost an insult to Beck himself.

That's where you're wrong. I may not like a lot of the shows that you guys talk about, but for the majority, I've seen the series you and others discuss on and on about. I'm not an idiot, I don't go around calling something I haven't seen complete garbage(and even if I technically haven't, a synopsis, character art and a skim of an episode more or less shows where the quality is going, or where it's already at)

What do you want me to do? Type out a 5 paragraph essay on why people who like FLCL are generally fucking stupid? And why people who think Code Geass is some brilliant sociological war drama have clue what they're talking about? No, I didn't think so, I don't have to explain a single thing to you or anyone else on why I dislike something.

And honestly, maybe I wouldn't be so hostile if someone actually brought up a decent conversation in this club. All of you literally talk about the same thing, GEASS, COWBOY BEBOP, TTGL, DEATH NOTE, BLEACH, or HEY HAVE YOU GUYS WATCHED THE NEW HAREM THIS SEASON, INCEST IS SO FUNNY XD. You guys are so devoid of any real sincere interest, it's like none of you ever actually try to explore. When was the last time anyone has decided to pick up something relatively unique and interesting/ something not airing right now; like Gunbuster, Maison Ikkoku, Fist of the North Star, Future Boy Conan, Hajime no Ippo, Mobile Suit Gundam 0079, Slam Dunk, Touch, Master Keaton, Legend of the Galactic Heroes or Rose of Versailles?

None. Because all of you have little to no real interest. This club and it's members repeat itself in such a painfully mundane fashion, in that it really makes me wonder why I even post here anymore. This club has gone to shit.

Out of all of those you listed, I've tried reading the manga of Slam Dunk and I enjoyed it.

Sakuragi as well as the other cast members are really likable, and although I don't watch basketball, I still find myself enjoying it. I'm actually a fan of baseball, however, and Rookies seems like an interesting manga to read.

You don't have to join in on every discussion, so if you feel that, say, FLCL has been discussed enough, don't discuss it. You're acting as if you're constantly a shining beacon of great discussion points, but as I remember the post that sparked this stupid debate was:

"Actually, scratch the above post. FLCL is better 'cause it's got robots coming out a boys head and there's a hot chick with a guitar and it's so wacky and random XD"

A dumb attempt to be funny, (I guess? Perhaps it was simply trolling, I don't know), that came out of nowhere. Nobody had mentioned FLCL on that page, or the few pages before it that I checked. You brought it up yourself. It just seems as if you were trying to incite the exact posts that you're now deriding.

Also, you're getting annoyed at people for not venturing out of the mainstream for anime, correct? But it's not as if everyone is just sitting around rewatching Cowboy Bebop for the sixteenth time. A lot of people are watching these 'mainstream anime' for the first time. And perhaps they're enjoying them. If I was watching Cowboy Bebop or FLCL or whatever for the first time, I'd probably want to discuss them.

Not everybody has the time to watch as many anime as you do. And next to nobody is trying to organise their discussion points around what you personally find interesting. Some people like harem anime, I guess.

this is why i sprinkle myself in-between these pages every once and again. i think you're getting too rash and should try and persuade others into series that they might like based on what they like. force not being the key in this factor but weening so to speak.

or is this hostility of yours forgotten what you once were and how you used to be? you and i, we are not so different in our growth patterns. how we acted years back and what we've grown into today is quite similar, no?

are you watching the old black and white or the newer 2000ish one? i've seen most of the old 50's version but not much of the newer one.

---

The Legendary Gambler Tetsuya is an excellent 20 episode series about the skill of gamblers, their tricks and some luck to the game of mahjong. If you've seen Akagi and are familiar with how that series goes don't expect the same from Tetsuya. Like I said, it's based on gambler skill and tricks with very little luck. Basically, how mahjong is PLAYED rather than all luck. Granted, you really can't compare the two since they are vastly different but they are similar at the same time.

It's also has an awesome score to go with it as well(good luck finding it in MP3 anywhere, i've been trying for months)that really fits the show and gets you pumped for the next move the characters are going to make. Great animation style IMO. The 90's and EARLY 2000's hold the best next to the 80's animation.

So yeah, if you like animes about games, mahjong or you're a fan of Akagi why not give it a taste? The link shows part 1 of 3 of the first episode. There are more episodes on youtube but it's not complete. You'll have to find 'other' methods to obtaining it.

Also, if mahjong is your thing then give The Legend of Koizumi a go. It's more of a short than a series, each episode being around 8 minutes or so. Pretty action packed and a good bit of humor mixed in there as well. You'll also get to see japans take on G.W. Bush jr in the first episode too.

Koizumi is basically about japans greatest(the peoples opinion)prime minister playing mahjong against the likes of communist north korea and the peoples republic of china. it's pretty damn good if i say so myself.

I just checked out the first episode of this show.

It seemed alright, but the problem is that I don't know anything about Mahjong, so the whole game just feels like Calvinball to me. It just, to me, seems like a bunch of random things happening accompanied by a lot of words that I don't know, up until the point that the character tells me that he's won or lost or whatever.

It doesn't seem like it was made for people that don't know anything about Mahjong, and I don't really have much of a desire to learn how to play the game, so I don't think I'll be watching any more of it.

I'm not saying I was some beacon of great discussion. It's a cycle that continues to restrict itself because the users who post here just watch the same several that have been pointed out, and that's it. I'm just saying to try to fucking explore, there are so many gems out there that it's unbelievable, ones that I and maybe a few others, would love to learn and talk about.
