I have probably talked about Lucky Star more than any other anime on these boards.

But that's only because, for some reason, I decided that I had the need to argue against any attacks on a show that, at best, I only found mildly amusing.

It's a perfectly watchable show, with a rather terrible first few episodes. It gets better as it goes along, but it never gets great.

It does seem to try to be Seinfeld in its bizarrely long conversations about nothing, but it never gets the humour just right in that regard. Plus, a whole bunch of the jokes were based around Japanese puns that I didn't understand. There were a few laughs every episode, and I did mostly like the characters though.

I enjoyed it when I watched it, but I don't think it's the sort of thing I'd watch now. I'm not usually one to attach meaning to everything I do in life, but even so. This is show about a group of sixteen year old girls talk about video games, anime, and, with the regularity you'd expect in this sort of anime, weight loss and uh, chest size. I just feel like, as an adult male, perhaps that is not the sort of thing I should be spending my time watching.

Princess Tutu has been really weird so far

It's weird enough to be intruiging but I'm still waiting to feel some 'substance' from the plot or characters

I think it's building up to that pretty well though

Why, because any attempt to acquire such anime outside of watching it on television in Japan would be, gasp, illegal.

So you're telling me that you legally acquire all the old anime that gets talked about in here? Even the stuff that hasn't been licensed overseas?

Lucky Star is only good if you understand all the references.

And you never will, considering you are a wapfag gookaboo who wants to be nipponjin.

Excuse me, but not understanding the references is one of the main reasons I enjoyed it.

It was a great way of convincing myself that I hadn't crossed the geekiness event horizon.

Gahahahahaha.

Go back to watching your K-On! moeshit then.

Cause that's all Lucky Star is without the references.

I thought P&S had awesome music and art. the jokes were typically bad, but i liked it in the so good that it's bad way as far as the writing goes.

Uh, Crunchyroll has it, so we're somewhat absolved from any pornography charges for watching it.

Nah, man.

I found it uplifting. Like, the whole "Find someone more pathetic than yourself thing", I really loved that.

Definitely in my top 5.

Did I sound serious when I said that?

Internet forums are terrible place to try and be subtle, I guess.

Well, with a name like Panty and Stocking, what in the hell did you expect?

I have only seen a few episodes, but it looks pretty good to me. A lot of people were so quick to trash it because they say it was going to be some cheap 2-bit fanservice anime that everyone will forget.

And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that it's loaded with crude jokes and boob and panty shots, but as I said before, with a name like Panty and Stocking, {made by Gainax no less}, what did you really expect?

Not gonna lie. I would like this show a lot if it was about actual special ed kids.

You could have Yui as an autistic, Ritsu as an attention deficit, and Mugi as a downie. That would be AMAZING

I didn't like it very much. There was never any plot; all it was about was the girls fighting about petty things.
The only part I enjoyed was Mr. Kimura's antics.

For once, I agree with Hibi here, Azumanga wasn't that impressive to me plotwise or even characterwise. It just felt so stupid, because of all of the petty fighting and overall weirdness which they could've done without.

Whatever, for once I picked up a manga series called Sanctuary. So far I'm pretty impressed with the writing, it's political/crime story of sorts-- so right up my alley. The artwork is a little bit different from what I normally see, but I find it a nice change of pace.

Also, Akira Hojo is pretty cool.

I own the first volume of the manga. It was actually really good, considering I picked it up for cheap, and usually I'm fairly disappointed with what I pick up.

Hate to break it to you, but it's the weakest of Ishii's films and Ishii was rather inconsistent to begin with. You're on your own on this one.

I think you should have rented this one first, {if that's possible}.

As Matt said, This is probably one of Ishii's worst films out there, and most of his work was up and down in terms of quality and entertainment. I saw this movie a long time ago, and I thought it wasn't really that good IMO.

How's it going guys? Been a while.
I just finished the Desert Punk series... I NEVER wanted it to end!
Regardless, it is a fantastic series and now I'm looking for another series to watch.
I've seen Black Lagoon, up to the end of the second season and I'll end up watching the third season once all of the episodes are available to buy.
Also seen that Paranoia Agent series which was pretty great, weird show anyway.
I like action animes the most from what I've seen... I've never been much of an anime guy but I'm starting to love it... I don't like the real popular ones like Bleach and Naruto etc... But could anybody recommend a good action series to me? I'll try coming here as much as I can for discussion instead of recommendations from you guys, since that's all I've really been doing. Haha.
Look forward to what you guys have to suggest.
