What's your favorite fight scene in anime? Mine is the one between the Demon God and the Death God in Soul Eater. And not because of the actual fight, just the dialogue is perfect.

I hated soul eater. A decent premise with horrible execution. If I was doing the whole shounen magic weapon academy thing I'd do it right. People would fucking advance.
Also, death the kid is one of the worst characters I've ever seen. His guns were pretty cool though.

My favorite fight would have to be the final one in Blassreiter, in which Joseph's body gets possessed by deceased blassreiters after getting beaten unconscious. The cool part of the possessions was that both of them had access to their weapons from back when they were still alive. All this while a dogfight involving a nuke-carrying vic viper-ish thing was going on in the atmosphere.

I actually think he's funny, I guess that's the difference between hating SE or loving it. I personally like Black Star. He's like a a parody of the shonen hero itself and he's one of the few anime characters who makes me laugh.
But my favorite fight scene in an Anime I've seen recently was Yomi vs Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho. It was an epic way to cap off the series. They just really go at it and it was cool.

The way he wins the fight is really cool, it's a great example of using smarts over brute strength.

The best fighting scenes I can remember were both from Naruto
The first being Rock Lee vs Gaara and the second Naruto vs Sauske
Only because they're very emotionally charged fights.
With Rock Lee's fight against Gaara it's the underdog against the murderer and unless your a horny fangirl you were rooting for Lee. It something awesome when he just absolutely pummels Gaara and heart wrenching when despite it all he still loses.
With Naruto v Sasuke you can just tell when you watch the episode that they really stepped it up with the animation. I also LOVED how this fight was a lot more physical than others in the series.
They aren't trading jutsu as much as they are trading powerful, angry fists. It's, IMO, the best fight in the series so far with just the impeccable animation and the implications it has. It's not only visually impressive but it's holds great significance to the plot and changes it's tone drastically.
A great way to end the first part.

I haven't seen the anime, but there was only one episode anyway i think. I have read the manga though, and it is gorier and more fucked up than the film version.

Yeah, just one episode as it's like a movie, but only 45 minutes or something... I'm looking in to getting it, I would love to find the manga some time as well. I know the film is based on the manga, and I enjoyed the film quite a bit.
