Death Note is pretty good IMO. Enjoyed the Shaman King manga but I've not seen the anime. Watch them both.

Even if you're catching shit for what you watch don't let it bother you. Shit, Rozen Maiden is probably the most girlie anime out there but it's one of my favorites. Doesn't stop me from sucking dick either.

So I finished Mnemyosne and I gotta say that was pretty good. Also watched Gantz and now I'm compelled to read the manga. Gonzo did not and never seems to fail in delivering great animation quality. Cop out ending but what can you do when your funding runs dry.

Wonko! You've come back from the grave eh? Good to see that you are doing well. Where are you stationed at now if you don't mind my asking?

Well I already see both of them, I liked more Death Note note, but the only reason I wanted to see Shaman King is because my cousin said it have very good songs.
Until now the only "shit" I see is Bleach, I don´t know why they say it is a shit, after all it isn´t as bad like Naruto and One Piece.

Easy there buddy, One Piece is viewed as good in the community in comparison to Bleach. You'll find a lot of resistance with that debate.

I read One Piece every so often and I do keep up with Bleach. Once you actually realize why Bleach isn't all that super you'll understand. The plot, character development and overall DBZ clone with swords etc...

Personally, I kinda got bored with One Piece after the Alalbasta arc, and generally thought it would have been better if the whole series would have been more like the East Blue part. But that's mostly nostalgia speaking.

Bleach, on the other hand is shite.

I'll check it out, my sisters one of those Anime obsessed girls, I suppose I'll steal some of hers. I'm not really into the general style a lot of the time, but I've been getting more into them lately, I saw that one about world war 2 in Japan, what was it? Fireflys or some shit, it was good.

Grave of the Fireflies, which was actually just discussed here.

Oh yeah,, I suggest watching the Studio Ghibli films, they are probably some of the best Anime out there (and being films, only thee length of that movie, not +9000 episodes)

SOMEONE! Reccomend me a something to watch. Seinen, or just something silly. or if anyone knows a good BL series, that is fine too.

Chu-Bra! is OK if you like ecchi.
I haven't seen Charger Girl Ju-den-chan yet; I heard they had to censor some of its content.
Have you seen Rosario + Vampire? I've been meaning to ever since I heard about what happened to the second season.

Have you watched Kemonozume or Mind Game yet? What about Texhnolyze? Boogiepop Phantom? Neo Tokyo?

And I would actually like some recommendations based on what I've rated positively on my anime list please. I like anime that is, uh....good. There's your guideline. especially if you guys have any recs, mendou, wang and kuro. It seems to me you guys tend to not like shitty shit.

Well in that aspect Bleach isn´t similar to DBZ, maybe the fights but the other things are different.
About One Piece it wasn´t bad after all until like the chapter 200 when all start to be the same, and other thing that make it bad was the censure.

Ah. the art form that is Anime! Being that this thread is almost 2000 friggin' pages long.........I shall share some thoughts of own!

I truly started enjoyng anime for real when I discovered DBZ in the mid 90's on Cartoon Network! Before then I was a casual 'toon fan. The action/adventure and storyline of this series told me that 'toons could be as engaging and edge of your seat exciting as your generic Prime-Time series! Ever since then, I have been hooked on this art form! It's amazing in every way! I'll get more into this, for now, I got to go to bed; buying books for the next semester! Good Night!

Watch Planetes, dude.

Also, Kure-nai.

And I don't know if you're into comedy anime at all, but Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is good. I've never been particularly fond of the sort of humour that's present in most anime, but that series is way ahead of the pack.

Also, if you're wanting to watch a movie, then The Place Promised in Our Early Days would be my recommendation. Or Voices of a Distant Star.

Double post, but I decided I needed to comment on this right now.

Anime is not an art form in and of itself. Animation is the art form. Anime is just a word that describes animation that comes from a specific country (Japan).

That the animation that comes from Japan has a tendency to show extreme similarities in certain areas does not mean that anime is its own art form.

Also, 'amazing in every way'? Considering the amount of crap that comes from Japan, this statement is pretty naive.

By the way, I just thought I'd say this: I wouldn't call myself an 'anime fan'. I'm a fan of animation in general. Anime just happens to fall under than heading.

I don't consider myself a naive person in anyway, everyone is entitled to there opinion.

I realize the Japanese create some pretty over the top crazy stuff, but some would actually consider it fun, or just plain funny. It's all a matter of subjective opinion, I guess.

But to get back on topic, I've noticed that many American animators are starting to adopt this style of animation. I don't seem to have a problem with it. Also, Marvel is planning on doing Anime renditions of their popular Comic book Superheros, should be interesting. Again, it is a matter of opinion. I think I might enjoy it.

Pretty sure no one has ever considered themselves naive till they get shown how naive they are.

A lot of it also sucks.

But to get back on topic, I've noticed that many American animators are starting to adopt this style of animation. I don't seem to have a problem with it.

You just skipped the whole diatribe about what anime means and whether it's an art form, didn't you?

Also, Marvel is planning on doing Anime renditions of their popular Comic book Superheros, should be interesting. Again, it is a matter of opinion. I think I might enjoy it.

Marvel is now Disney, and the Marvel mangaverse is not a new idea. Really, the last thing they need is another alternate time line.

I'm here posting in the 'anime club'. You'd have thought I would know this.

I'm not saying that all crazy shit the Japanese create is bad. I'm saying that, like with any country's animation and any other artistic medium, there are a lot of terrible anime.

You'd be lying if you said you enjoyed every single anime that's been created.

A lot of them were made at the same time as each other.

Most of them don't fall under a coherent timeline.

Which ones did you not like?

I can't really get into ZZ with it's super slow start. Wing is alright but I'd rather not watch that ever again.

Movies wise or say the ones I've seen: The Turn A movies. They are just recapping the series with the same animation. Just from scanning through them every scene was the same quality and animation as the series. But they are good if you just want to plow through Turn A. You'll miss out on the obvious such as character development and back story details.

Diablo 2 LoD anyone?
