Well, uh....that's something.

I don't see anything too wrong with these two shows.

I mean, The Melancholy takes a while to get going, and Air is tonally quite bizarre, but I do not feel that they need to be lumped in with the likes of Elfin Lied or Bleach or whatever in any backhanded compliments.

Just because they aren't as shit as Elfen Lied does not mean they are deserving of a seperate pithy comment for merely mediocre shows as opposed to horrible ones.

Jesus goddamn Christ.

Lucky Star also has its stoner moments. Pretty much every time Tsukasa appears on screen and does something stupid.

Might watch more tomorrow--got first volume of Phoenix to go through, and I guess I'll try Samurai 7 again, as well as get back to that damn Sailor Moon behemoth.

Really? As I saw it, it was going upwards throughout.

It was only in the last four or five episodes where it really got good, and I thought the last episode was the best.

Hey dude, you watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and I'm pretty sure you enjoyed it.

And then you read the light novels.

And I think that gender-bender story.

So I'm pretty sure you can't scorn people for watching it.

Agreed. I was pretty disappointed it only lasted 13 episodes though. For some reason when I watched it I thought it was 26 and so when the end came it kinda took me by suprise.

Well I've decided I'm going to watch two anime series, one nearly all of you recommended and the other one I just remembered.

Yep.

It's an ok show. As far as pacing, humor, plot and character depth goes, it's a pretty good. There's some Off Model stuff towards the end (I think they had to save on the animation buget for the final).

It's an interesting show.

When I was 14, and watched the raws.

One of them to completion, and skimmed the rest.

Story? I didn't even know there was a fucking story, I just have a ton of art.

Hmm good to know, it should be finished in about 20 minutes so I suppose I'll see for myself. I have watched the first episode already, and thought it was pretty funny.

I'm not saying you can't dislike the show now.

I'm just saying you can't criticise others for watching it.

That would make you a hypocrite.

This club was built on the back of hypocrisy.

And it's not even technically hypocrisy, I liked it years ago, that has no bearing on this current day, so I think I can feel free to say what I want about it.

Whatever, what am I expecting from you? It seems the second a KyoAni show gets criticised you have to jump in and white knight for no goddamn reason.

First shows I watched were Dragonball and Sailor Moon (and Magic Knight Rayearth, but none wrong wit' dat).

First series I actually watched through was Death Note.

I genuinly enjoyed Lucky Star for a while.

Tastes change. I still do like Haruhi, though. Mostly because I go to Tv Tropes.

And oh man, I need to stop going to TV Tropes so often, because I'll sit there for hours on end.

Yes, it doesn't help that I haven't posted for a while.

Almost every Kyoto Animation show I've watched gets worse and worse in hindsight. It's strange.

Maybe it's because they tend to embody something I hate about anime now ('everybody likes the cynical dick').

Man, I really need to catch a good anime soon, soemthing that will absolutely hook me. I mean, i suddenly stopped in the middle of Champloo and I wouldn't want to continue for reasons unknown. I think I need a good movie, something that will leave me in absolute awe.

Something like the Cowboy Bebop movie. something that will get me back in activity in this club.
