In various anime, TV, video games, movies, manga and books their have been various characters (Usually tending to be villains) that have a peculiar abilities to manipulate others for fun, to do their biding or to try and achieve an objective(S).

Now I have been craving for an anime about a really manipulative but not necessarily insane (Death note) character that tries to accomplish his own goals that aren't necessarily evil.

And I don't mean as in code geass where he commands other people to do stuff with that wacko power of his, I mean like he can convince people into doing stuff and whatnot by talking clever.

Whether this is a anime about a kid in school trying to be a bastard for fun or an anime about taking over the world I don't care.

Shoot!

Make war, not love.

Yeah most of the time I try to stay away from anime because of the perverted way the charecters are drawn, but whenever I have the chance I watch Code Geass. I don't seem to like any other anime show... not even Gundam. Bleach is alright. Fully Cull ROCKs

Akagi is literally your only choice.

Yeah, just pick whatever one you want, doesn't really matter anymore.

I'm afraid I don't understand. Enlighten me?

I'm thinking of getting MGS2: Substance since MGS is frightening me to much since I'm on the nuke storage stage AND FUCK I CAN'T USE MAH WEAPONS!

But seriously, is it a waste of space on my slowly turning shit comp? Or is it worth it? Or should I look for MGS3 instead?

It's practically an interactive anime, and it has comic-book spinoffs.

Also MGS2 and MGS3 aren't even clsoe to scary >_>

I was talking about MGS1 you numbnut. And I was asking if MGS2-3 were both buying, not if they were scary.

I guess you kind of have to let it sink in before liking it, atleast on my part.

I liked GTO, but I didn't think it was great.

lmao, man I still gotta get pick that recent Desert Punk set, the old boxset was way too pricey, but now it's pretty affordable.

Now if only someone released a new Champloo set.

Indeed. I need some Champloo in my life.

Also, did they release the complete Desert Punk on DVD at a cheaper price? I mean, the one I bought was pricey, but it's fucking sweet, too.

Yep, they did. But the anime ended while the mangas still ongoing. So I imagine the endings gonna be bad, and that they took out things from the manga probably.

Wait, did they go past the like, 24 original episodes and keep going?

I know that the manga is ongoing, but I didn't think the anime kept up.

Kinda like Berserk.

Anyway, I've hit a snag in anime-watching, I need a good show that's 20 episodes long or less.

20 or less....

as Mendou said, Now and Then, Here and There. also...

Kemonozume
Boogiepop Phantom

hmm...I can't think many series that are 20 episodes or less that you wouldn't have already seen. A lot of the good stuff is over 20, it seems.

08th MS Team is a pretty good short series, just started it the other day and it's definitely one of the better Gundam shows.

Sorta kinda did something anime-related last night.

Was sitting with the parental units and started working on my Swordfish II model while watching Deep Space 9.

Trying to understand the instructions when they're completely in Japanese is just SLIGHTLY frustrating.

Cool angry posts, dude.

It's real interesting to hear how much you hate everything and everyone that doesn't conform to your standards.

Wait, what's with all this hostility I'm exhibiting with no provocation? This should be a place of love!

I made an attempt to watch an episode of Le Portrait de Petite Cossette. I'm not sure the plot was particularly coherent. It just seemed an excuse so far to throw in a bunch of bizarre imagery.

I don't know if I'll continue on with it, but it's only two more episodes to go, so I might.

Since I've been getting the majority of my ideas for new shows to watch from the Madman Propaganda (trailers) in the DVDs I get out, I've been thinking of watching Desert Punk, since it looked quite fun and ridiculous.

Is it worth it?

So, sarcastic remarks are good so long as they are at least a sentence long?

I finally started Akagi, and I love it, but I wish I knew the rules of the game.... so far all I know is that RON means "You're fucked".

Desert Punk is very, very funny.

The last few episodes are awkwardly dramatic, but the rest is just good ol' fashioned comedy.

It also doesn't play heavily to cliche humour devices, and being a GONZO production it has a few moments of totally amazing animation.

Riichi Mahjong is actually pretty easy to play. Here's a really good guide to the basics.

I'm getting good at it now, practicing with some PC/DS sim games.

Gundam Mahjong Z is the bomb, yo, and the Akagi game is pretty fun too despite fucking brutal A.I.

Hey hey hey. I was talking about hating things that other people like, not getting all uppity when people dislike things that I like.

There is a significant difference there.

Never has been in the past.

Desert Punk is very, very funny.

Sweet, I might check it out sometime.

Once I actually get around to finishing some of the series that I left in rather awkward positions.
