Well, we in this club aren't really crazy for a Naruto, there's a naruto club for that.
Also Western Amateur Mangaka can maybe look elsewhere.
OOH, which brings me to another question; when does it stop being anime/manga? What if it's, say Korean? Or maybe it's done in west with a Japanese art director etc.

Goddamn, the music in that show was stunning.

All of the stuff he suggested also applies to manga (especially Kaiji, highly recommended).
But on top of that....
Ichi the Killer (if you have a strong stomach)
Benkei in New York
Golgo 13
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Yotsuba&!
Welcome to the NHK? I saw that on wikipedia while looking up info on hikikomori for an essay.
Is it any good?

The manga is pretty lulzy. I've read the first... 2 or 3 (I got 3 and 4 lurking around here that I haven't gotten around to reading yet).
Forgot to mention: MW has serious mindfuck at the end. LUL. Still awesome, Tezuka is beyond awesome. :D

One of the first series I watched. It's good, but some episodes towards the end are horribly off model (I think they were running out of budget), luckily, not the Finale, the finale was dealt with professional pride.

Samurai Champloo.

I enjoyed Battle Royale, altough the english translation ruins some of the plot.
What would you think if I said that I watched Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan?
Because I did. I found it okay, anyone seen it?
1, 2, 3, Coffee 4, 5, 8, too late

Pretty much. It's worth it I'm guessing since I absolutely loved Cowboy Bebop.

Yeah, it was a pretty good show.
Totally fucking ridiculous, but good.

Jesus, are they ever?
Man, shit needs a better difficulty curve, yo.

You're silly.
Meh, Samurai Champloo is alright, tons better than Samurai X for sure.
But I like Cowboy Bebop more, I dunno really.

Ah, good, thought I was the only one who thought so.
I still think they left it open for a third season, the ending is just too abrupt, even if the second season was just an OVA.
1, 2, 3, Coffee 4, 5, 8, too late
I watched the first episode of a Samurai X OVA once, i found it boring and generic.

It's awesomeness.
See season one first, though, it introduces all the characters.
Me and the father unit watched half of Secret of Twilight Gemini before we decided that at the time, we were both too tired to finish watching it, and wanted to be awake and sentient to finish it.
Considering that this wasn't even after 9 when it happened, we flipped it to Leno and both of us dozed off. awwwww.
only five episodes left to watch of Darker Than Black. I'll probably watch them all tonight.

I might give that show a try. not sure if it's my thing, though.

It's been a long time since I've seen that show. I never saw the entire series, but I was into it. I can't remember much of it now, though.
