Many things, so I do all at once so i'm not triple posting and breaking rules bawwwwwwwwww:

Kuro: It peeves me off that Tezuka's books are expensive. Apollo's Song was like, $26, which made me grawr, but it was completely worth the money. I wanted to start on Phoenix, but it was something like $21, which kind of made my head explode when I saw the price. I've been wanting to read more of his stuff (I've read the first volumes of Adolf and Buddha, and I wanted more). I dunno, ranty ranty, wanna go to the manga storeeeeee.

Mendou: Haha, OMG SID VISCIOUS GHOST goddamn I need to see DMC. >:( :D:D:D

I watched, on recommendation from Mendou, Dead or Alive, skipping the other two Lupin III movies after Dragon of Doom. It was sooooooo good, I had trouble keeping my eyes open because I can't stay awake for anything anymore, but it was worth it, and man, just awesomesauce. More Lupin manga is needed.

I never buy manga, it's ridiculously expensive here.

Like, how you complain that Phoenix is $21, that's how much a volume of a regular manga would cost here.

Just not worth it.

Luckily, they've got a decent enough selection of comics at the library, and that includes some manga.

YAWNSPOILERS

Finished Kaiji, and loved the turn of events. Kaiji is so fucking GAR in the last episode, and the way he handled his lost was a good direction for his character. Loved every moment of this series. There were no damn flaws whatsoever, and it's like Death Note only with a more surreal, and vastly better plot. And much more likable characters.

Yeah, Tank! is the best opening theme ever.

My friend has had my Cowboy Bebop soundtrack for weeks, now, along with a couple other CDs. He's had a couple opportunities to return them now.

There aren't that many opening themes that I like in anime. There are plenty of soundtracks I like, but I usually don't care for the openings for anime series. The only one's I can think of that I like other than Tank! are

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz53oSIPJ 1s (the show may be mediocore, but it has some good music)

and, of course

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZjOnTc5s Ms

On the subject of anime music, I can hardly find any of the songs from Lupin III that I like. I've been through all of the albums I could find (which was a lot) and the only songs I found that I wanted were the series 2 opening, Dangerous Temptation, and Ai no Theme. I don't know the names of the other songs I liked, so I can't just search for them.

Undoubtedly. I'm considering of getting some CD's myself.

Ahh, I remember watching that show when I was a young'un.

I honestly don't remember anything about the actual show, but the opening's still as clear as day.

And of course, you can't count out Lupin the III.

I started watching a few episodes after that, but it wasn't much considering that Simon's really uninteresting.

I put all the songs from Cowboy Bebop that I thought were the best on one CD. I fit as much as I possibly could.

I have the DVD box set, along with Kikaider 01. I haven't watched either in a long time, though.

I think it's a great tune. There's another song in the show I really like that Jiro plays on his guitar. I have it on my computer along with the theme song.

I was pissed when Kamina died. I refuse to watch the rest of the show because of this.

Ending Spoilers

DURRR, he didn't bitch out, he didn't try to suck up for another chance, he accepted his fate. He was upset, but he took his loss.

No, not even close.

I'm reading the manga, and Kaiji has gone damn near insane as a result of Tissue Box Raffle.

Wish I could, but in the next few weeks I have to write several pieces of creative writing (the first one due on Monday), an essay on popular culture, an essay on translation theory, print out and analyze a bunch of stuff related to print making, and probably do an exam or two. That, and save the world.

Wouldn't hurt to try and watch the first few episodes, it's a fantasy/Mecha series with romance but it was done quite well.

Yoko Kanno did the soundtrack(So it's good by default) and the animations amazing for it's time(It ran in 1996)

Can't hurt to give it a try.

I´m kind of prejudiced about animes with schoolgirls as main characters, and the plot sounds like meh. Who knows, it might still be good, when i´m done with everything else i can probably check it out.

Yes, and the music is good, from what I recall. I think the prog rock band, Bi Kyo Ran did the music, or some of it. I checked out their song "Double" and it's pretty damn good, although the intro is a bit too reminiscent of Larks Tongues in Aspic by King Crimson.

Benkei in New York.

It's very short, but it lacks all the cliche bullshit you see in most other series. Really good crime story with fantastic artwork and twist endings to every chapter that make you shit bricks.

Probably second place would be Kaiji, since it's probably the only series I've ever read that understands what it means to be DEEP.
