I told him it was an abrupt ending, and that I was planning on finishing off the series with the manga.

Nice choices, you should show him the Lupin movies too. I got a feeling the both of you will enjoy the rest of the Lupin films.

I hope so. :)

Basically anything anime related.

Does anyone have any idea when season 2 of Kaiji is coming?
I only know that its confirmed but i have no idea about the date they release it.

Speaking of which, any news on when the next season of (cover your eyes Mendou and sing a happy song) Haruhi is coming? I heard it was supposed to start soon.

Off course, my dallying around on TV Tropes Wiki and having a liberal approach on spoilers (and it being one of the most refrenced shows after Star Trek and a few others) I pretty much know the whole plot.

News about it has been incredibly mixed and hard to follow ever since the first season ended.

I'm pretty far past the point of caring now, read some of the light novels and got tired of the story.

Well, it looks like the new season of Clannad is going to come before it, so you've still got a while to wait.

Volume one of Boogiebop Phantom arrived from Netflix. I heard that this series is hard to follow. I hope that doesn't mean I'll have to rewatch any episodes to understand it.

Finished Berserk with the daddy figure today when we were both out of commission. Didn't get as jazzed up this time round, but you know, still awesome ending. I mean, my MUM was asking about what happened to Griffith and Guts and Casca. lul.

Also read volume 14 of it, and was like "HEY DADDY WANNA SEE AWESOME GUY WHO COMES TO SAVE GUTS?".

I think we're going to watch Queen Bee either tonight or tomorrow depending on how we both feel.

You're better off forgetting about Queen Bee. It's crap. The Professional is great, though.

It wasn't that terribly bad, to be honest. I mean, it COULD have been better, now that I've read the manga and watched some of the new episodes of the show.

Once I find/if I can find The Professional, I'm picking it up no matter what.

Looks pretty nice, even though it's based off the video game I heard it's still pretty good. I'd like to check it out, but the boxset is insanely expensive nowadays.

Devil May cry is based off a video game and its good, as well as the Street fighter animated film, so i have confidence in it.

Debateable, but hey, it was better than Street Fighter II V or whatever that show was called.

Videogame based anime tends to be pretty bad.

1-Shonen Jump: Naruto
2-Snonen Jump: The Prince of Tennis (then, who is the Princess of Tennis? O_o)
3-Bleach
4-S.Cry.Ed (It was my favorite... until it finished and ANIMAX don't transmite it anymoar ;_;)
5-Blood +
All these is in ANIMAX.

Also, I remember you from some topic about religion. While I'm an atheist too, i though you were acting like a jerk. Just so you know.

Are you talking about The Atheist Army?

So my dad dragged me out of bed when I was kind of wanting to nap because I'm tired and lazy, and we watched Queen Bee, to which he was like "it's not too bad".

His first words once the movie was over were "He's a heartless bastard." To which I laughed.

Oh god, that helicopter was so horrible. It didn't even look like a finished job. And it was so unnecessary to make it in CG.

Yeah, I've seen a couple Geneon box sets that are priced too high. I'd already have the Texhnolyze box set if it weren't for that.

It was alright.

And I didn't realize Gungrave was based on the games. I thought it was the other way around.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would say anything other than "Tank!"

Mostly I thought the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei openings were kind've annoying.

Though I did like how they had a reasonable few different ones.

And I also kinda liked that ending theme that turned up for most of the second season.

Marionette.

So I'm about halfway through MW (massive book, that one is).

After the other Tezuka stuff that I've seen (you know, reasonably optimistic stuff like Astroboy, and Metropolis), reading this one is kinda... Horrifying.

It's still got his distinctive style only with more murder and rape.

From what I can see, with this comic Tezuka created the single most evil character in anything.

Ever.

Which isn't really a plus, because I like my characters to be human, rather than monsters.

It's alright, though.

I on the other hand, don't really like that one. The first one (can't remember the original title, but "I hear their deligthfull screams at night") was better IMO.

Also, Samurai Champloo - Battlecry

I just liked it when it was so ridiculously out of tone with the endings of some of the episodes.

Also, the song was kinda catchy.

"Etsurakushugi naaaaaa no nen~"

At 10/3/08 08:50 AM, JohnnyWang wrote: Also, Samurai Champloo - Battlecry

I thought that was a pretty bad opening.

Mostly because of the ungood theme song.

It's not really amazing per se, but it's pretty good.

Sometimes it comes off a bit too much as Tezuka wanting to shock you.
