I decided to watch Nadia: The secret of Blue Water again (subtitled) because I remember that I watched it years ago and never got to finish it properly.
What I didn't like was the Island and the Africa episodes, fillers, except for a very few scenes.
They had relayed the animation to another studio instead of Gainax, so they could focus on the main story. Weak excuse and a very bad move.
Nonetheless, it was good, brought nostalgic thoughts on.
But the difference was that I had seen it in german then, so I watched it in in that language too.
While the germans voice actors are very good at, well, voice acting it does get rather monotonous after a while, seeing that the mid-aged male voices sound rather alike.
Enough of that though, I've read that they released a movie of Nadia.
According to 80% of critics it is an utter waste of time. Too many reused scenes from the series and too many cardboard cutouts. Supposedly very clichéd.

But the main problem is that it has a complete different setup than the ending of the series gives, one of the biggest being that Jean and Nadia have moved apart and that the Grandis Gang even attacks them later on even though they established a friendship in the series. Even two main characters are written out, Marie and King.
That's probably because the production team was not the original one.

Having read all the negative sides about it though I'm still going to watch it, just because.
And I want my own opinion on it. Hope it doesn't turn out to be the predicted shitstorm.
