Clannad might be a good choice.
Kuro - Puting the 'Kur' back in 'inkurable disease.'

Nice.. then i'm off =/
Hello. Though it's not anime, i got the Watchmen graphic novel. Because the trailer made me cum 100 times, and they were out of V for Vendetta. So yeah.
Watchmen's a masterpiece, and I can only hope they didn't botch the movie (though from the looks of the trailer, they didn't).
But Watchmen ain't animoo foo!

Truly a great comic.

The movie doesn't interest me at all.
Watchmen is too much about comicsto make me care about a Watchmen movie.
Unless of course they somehow make the movie about comic book movies. That would probably make me interested.

Two seals of approval, must mean it isn't half-bad, heck I bet this means it's great.

Also, welcome back shin.

Look, it's really hard finding God-king terminology, don't make me have to think up more.
I've been watching gungrave for a couple days. It's pretty good but nothing tops Excel saga for me lol

I don't even remember exactly who my character was. I can recall starting off as Shippou from Inuyasha, then switched to some scientist when I earned my Associate's Degree in Chemistry, and changed to Miles "Tails" Prower from Sonic the Hedgehog because I missed being a kitsune. I have no idea what I did after that, and I'd rather not take the time to search my posts for answers.
So i got done watching Elfen lied in on Friday, it was ok but not one of my favorites. Now i´m watching Code Geass, i have to say it quite reminds me of Death Note.
I have so much anime to watch.. I finally found a Japanese dub of the Ninja scroll TV show, i have to finish Code Geass and then i guess i´ll start watching Berserk.
I'm really into GTO now. I'm picking up the pace, now, watching more episodes at a time.

Berserk is really good, but be prepared for one of the worst endings in history. And the Ninja Scroll series wasn't very good. My friend gave me the DVD box set for free probably a couple years ago now. I think I watched it all the way through once.
A lot of people don´t seem to like Ninja scroll... I thought the movie was pretty awesome. I like the theme, and the villains are cool.
At 8/11/08 03:36 AM, Mendou wrote: Also I started on the Black Jack TV special, Black Jack: The 4 miracles of life. It's only 4 episodes(obviously). I finished episodes 1 and 2. So far it's pretty good. But I have do have a bit of a problem. In terms of character designs I much prefered Osamu Dezaki's way of directing Black Jack. The character designs just make the show a bit...too light hearted and a tad cutesy.
If you have read the comics, they would have been more or less the same style in the first place; possibly Makoto Tezuka's way of honoring his father's (Osamu Tezuka; better known as the God of Manga) debut 30 years before 2003 (when several animated Tezuka Works aired on TV).
Don't forget that the OVAs and Movie by Dezaki are all original stories without borrowing too much from the books.
It cannot be helped; since they are aiming at a younger audience with a TV release unlike the movie and the ten OVAs by Dezaki.
Though in the same style and art direction, Black Jack 21 certainly feels darker but at the same time does not leave out breathers for younger fans. But hey; a medical story turning into something out of a James Bond Final Hour event makes the Epic Doctor Story all the more enjoyable.
Speaking of Dezaki works; his version of Air (Movie) did make me go D'AWWWW near the end.

No true, all but two episodes of the OVAs are adaptations of manga stories.

Yeah, 21's globe-trotting action/mystery twists make it quite the fun show.

Disregard that then.
Yeah, 21's globe-trotting action/mystery twists make it quite the fun show.
If done by Yamamoto Kenji of Kiroi Ishi fame in Dynamic Studios... it'll be an instant best seller.
At 8/11/08 03:49 PM, Mendou wrote: Which is pretty odd since the latino one just seems far too outlandish. Even for Black jack's standards.
I did not think so, given Tezuka's occasional ups and downs when writing uncountable amounts of comics. I don't even think 100% of them are even recorded on one source.
Oh, hey, I remember there was a bit in Sayonara Zetsuboy Sensei (why do I insist on calling Animus by their Japanese names...) where he drops a Black Jack Manga into a fountain that detoxes people, removing their negative qualities, and then shows a panel where BJ demands proof of medical insurance.
At 8/12/08 03:29 AM, JohnnyWang wrote: (why do I insist on calling Animus by their Japanese names...)
Because it's a fancier sounding name than 'Goodbye, Mr. Despair'.
It's only a select few that I call by their Japanese names, and that's only because that's how other people identify them.
I remember that episode having a rather bizarre Lucky Star reference.
It also happened in a number of other episodes, I couldn't get why.

I doubt I'll be watching the Ninja Scroll tv series either.
I liked the action scenes personally. The antagonist doesn´t die until the very end.
is it not to late to join?
im an otaku to the grave.
also, i play videogames in local tourney's,

Spirited away is my all time favorite anime movie

Oh, btw, have you heard of the upcoming Ultimo?
I read a teaser and thought it was good.

Japaneese manga star Hiroyuki Takei
teamed up for this one.

jeez, the next few weeks are gonna be awesome.
not as i hear.
ittl' be good, sure, but i hear its lacking.
Yeah, AZN TV ran it pretty much uncut a year or two ago, but I fear it will be blurred and muted (the way the Sci Fi channel censors its anime programs) beyond recognition. If you want to see all the good stuff you miss out on, try renting it from Netflix.

uhhh, IFC is more hentai-ish than most, and its "uncut" Netflix is best.

The movie wasn't bad, but I don't think it was that good either. The 8 devils were cool and the fight scenes were good.. It's just a fun action flick. I used to think it was great. I was in love with it the first time I saw it at age 11.
And the show isn't as entertaining as the movie. Really, I would not recommend it, but I wouldn't say it's completely horrible. I'd watch an episode if there was nothing else to do, I guess, but if I could get 10 bucks or more for it, I'd probably sell my box set.
You should watch Basilisk instead. It's another show that only has action going for it and nothing else, but it's more entertaining, in my opinion. I enjoy it on the same level as I enjoy stuff like Angel Cop, Baoh, Mad Bull 34, or Crying Freeman. same with the Ninja Scroll movie.

Seriously, never post here again.
I really should get back into anime. The last was She, that was good and I watched all of the second Ghost In The Shell series finally, still missing loads of the first one. Also I never did watch the Ghost movie I got a while ago. Also to finish watching Bleach I cant remember what epsiode I was on, 110 something.
Any good anime you can recomend me to try along the lines of .hack gentleness and storyline or ghost in the shell complex thingy storyline, I think I will try for one of those at the moment. Or a love story, those are always nice.
