no, no. I just felt like busting your chops.

I can understand that. Some dubs are just terrible. We know which ones of course.

oh, yes.

I had Jolt once. The can looked like a can of shaving cream. And when I opened it, it got everywhere. That's the fizziest drink ever created.

Oh, and I can't remember the last time I had soda. I'm on a diet. Am I special?

OH, BETTER THAN THE REST OF US, EH?

YEAH, I'M ONE OF THOSE STUCK UP WAPS WHO THINKS HE'S SPECIAL FOR READING SUBTITLES.

I've usually not got a preference for language, some shows just can't be watched dubbed and likewise some are hard to take in Japanese.

Sometimes, I just feel like I'm not really watching the show when I watch it dubbed. I dunno.

But yeah, the subs will make the headache worse, so put up with all the yelling for the sake of understanding it better.

Man, it's brutal. But it is quite funny.

That'd be the best combo ever.

Yeah, some show are just so Japanese that an English dub ends up being a totally seperate experience.

But hey, that's where comedic dubs come in, long live clever re-writes.

Man, it's brutal. But it is quite funny.

Also, for a dialogue-heavy comedy, it has unreasonably good animation.

Dutch had the potential to be awesome, but he starts to get lame as the show goes on.

I agree on this.

He's too uptight later on it seems like, and he should make more jokes in the dark humour section.

To a very small degree...

I'd make the attempt to watch them raw, but it's rather painful, as it shows me just how little I know.

This is a fact, you tend to pic up the generic used words, and praises when watching subbed anime. Altough, it's a retarded way to learn a language with out tutoring on the side. Also, Ninja Nonsense> God

I have actually picked quite up a few words, but it's not like I'd ever have a use for them.

Well, I've got the significant advantage of having done Japanese for the last four years as a school subject.

I just like to watch subs so I can go "oh yeah, I understand that sentence", not so I can learn new vocabulary.

My Japanese teacher wants me to do Japanese scholarship exams at the end of this year.

Just watched the 'extra' episode of Clannad.

That was a bizarrely useless episode.

It really just made me dislike Nagisa more.

Even so...

In a recent burst of anime watching I've re-watched Tenjou Tenge (don't ask why, I can't answer), re-started Basilisk, rererererererererererere-rewatched Hellsing, started Trinity Blood, Azumanga Daioh, and Gunslinger Girl. Also, in a display at my level of masochism, I'm watching Gundam Wing. in English.

All this since the last time I posted here.

I finally hopped back on the Ranma gravy train.

Jesus Christ, did season three ever have ridiculously good animation in the oddest episodes.

The widescreen segment in "Rub-a-Dub-Dub, There's A Pervert In The Tub!" was absolutely mindblowing for a low-budget early-90s production.

Gundam Wing was actually good in English, oh yeah, I forgot that in the old days, you were so fucking pretentious about anime that you even stuck to watching Cowboy Bebop subbed only. Which, should be a crime. But, enjoy Scott McNiel as Duo, because he makes it AWESOME!

Also, I still only watch Cowboy Bebop subbed.
