I've been well, schools been a bit rough so I really never had the time to post. But I'm back now, and ready to make shameless Ranma references at the drop of a hat...

That's good to know, old friend.

God, I really need to watch the 25 or so Ranma discs I've purchased in the past couple of months...

I myself am psyched that Viz is re-releasing them in America for a more reasonable price.... for a few weeks I was tempted to give into the dark side and use youtube. Thankfully, comments of "DATS INUYASHA" and "WTF HE IS A SHEMALE?!?!" kept me away from that god forsaken place.

I bought the reissues of seasons one to four, but for six and seven, I cracked and bought the original three-episode volume discs from like 2001.

But I got them cheap, so yeah.

It already is a dark and lonley place.

Ryoga should have won in that episode. Someone needs to kill Ranma's massive ego, badly.

Nah, Ranma's ego is what makes him Ranma. Take away his pride and he has no flaws whatsoever.

Response to Anime Club 2008-03-07 18:38:52

Nah, he is only petty when beaten by regulars, like Ryoga and Mousse, or when Akane gets the dougi. When he fights actual enemies, he does find their weakness, true, but beats them not for pride, but to save someone.

I've watched the first 3 episodes of Clannad.

It's funnier than Kanon and Air.

I watched both Ranma 1/2 movies at my uncle's house. I also asked him if he had all of the episodes. He said that he has the 1st and second seasons, whatever that means. I guess I'll borrow them eventually and watch them.

What's funny about it? If I remember the game correctly it was a tad depressing...

These shows follow that structure.

Funny - Depressing.

It's irritating.

But the show is funny.

He's got the first 40 episodes A.K.A. "the part with a real plot".

Yeah, the first two seasons are my favorite, but in terms of the manga, I love the Herb and Ryu Kumon arcs more then the first two seasons. Seriously, they replaced Herb with some lame Prince in the second movie, and Ryu got a token role in the video game. I love Ranma, but I kinda don't like how they left out the Boss arcs in the OVA. I mean, for christ's sake, we only got Mariko and Pantyhose.;_;

Yeah, animes really don't go out of their way to explain why people in Japan suddenly have Blond, Blue, and Red hair. I need to watch the anime, it seems funny. The game was as depressing as fuck though...

You don't say that sort of thing to people who haven't played it, or seen all of the show.

It's a spoiler, you understand.

Um, it's not like I am revealing any importent plot points. But fine, I'll be even more vague if you want to.
Still, can't see how an emotional aspect of the show is a spoiler....

In a show that starts out upbeat, then obviously it's going to be a spoiler to say that it doesn't stay that way.

Gotcha, won't make a mistake like that again. Just a question, does the anime follow the same setup as the game?(

I've been watching Kemonozume. I like it so far. It's kinda different, which is nice. The art style is certainly unique. And the music is pretty good.

Another post on Clannad.

I'm quite liking how it's all about friendship, rather than the main character being so romantically proficient that he can just travel straight from one girl to another whenever something bad befalls one.

It makes it feel believable.

It also has some very strange humour aspects.
