It's Gainax.

What did you expect?

They're the kings of underwhelming, overrated anime.

Well I was just disappointed at its inherent immaturity.

It was just filled with a ridiculous number of consecutive jokes about certain body parts, and objects related to those certain body parts.

Got out the DVD.

But still, only 13 episodes? Too short.....

I like short series.

Gives little time to get sick of them.

Speaking of which, I've just finished Aria the Animation.

It was good, but its flaws were kinda obvious.

Namely its irritating animals, and unfunny running jokes (such as, one of the characters repeatedly saying that embarrassing comments are not allowed).

Though, aside from one episode which seemed to focus entirely on President Aria (so I skipped it), the series used the animals less towards the end, which made it far better.

It's a very easy to watch series, due to there being very little happening in each episode.

Oh well, I believe there's another season twice the length of that one to follow, and I think they're making another one.

Sure, I think the entrance exam is still this:

1. Write down your 5 favourite animes, along with a sentence or two for each about why you like each of them.
2. What sorts of anime do you dislike?
3. What got you into anime?

If your tastes are viewed as acceptable (by me) then you'll be allowed in.

I'm a very harsh judge, so you'd better work hard.

Just watched Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, it's friggin hillarious. There's no other series like it, as far as I know. It's the story of an optimistic student and a teacher with suicidal tendencies. Sounds fun? Nah, probably doesn't, my description was as unwitty as possible, but you'll be laughing your ass off as soon as ya start watching.

Ok then, my answers are as follows:

1. Write down your 5 favourite animes, along with a sentence or two for each about why you like each of them.

1. Detective Conan
2. Yu Yu Hakusho
3. Gensomaden Saiyuki
4. Death Note
5. Boys Be

---> I like each of them because almost all of these are adventures and I mostly like adventurous-themed anime.

2. What sorts of anime do you dislike?

For me, I hate kiddie show animes like Pokemon.

3. What got you into anime?

My sister is also an anime fanatic so I got into it and get influenced.

Pink supervisor! I watched a few episodes, and they were really amusing. I lost interest, though. Perhaps I should go back to watching it. I figure I could get done with the 1st season by the time somebody decides to consistently sub the 2nd season.

Oh, Hobby Link Japan...

How you love to screw with me.

Damned order is plagued with problems.

Two of my 1/8 scale statues may not ship due to some kind of stock issue (I bought the last piece of each one and the stupid store's database assumes they can't ship them to me since they are now listed as "out of stock").

My awesome Balalaika t-shirt has been delayed until February....

Other than that, my Black Jack and Mikuru figures should ship around the 18th or so.

I'm up to episode 30 of Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star. Amazing jizztastic fun. I also saw a dubbed episode of FotNS. I think that Steven Blum's voice as Shin is so fucking bad it's funny. Because he's Spike Spiegel, and his voice is supposed to be associated with a badass bounty hunter, yet he falls fucking short of become the King of the Southern Cross, because Spike Spiegel's voice isn't up to the duty of a villainous king. So, it's fucking hysterical.

Also, Rei is a pimp, Mamiya is so going to be on his cock soon.

SB's lazy-sounding voice really doesn't work for the Lord King.

In fact, very few dub voices worked. Kenshiro was awful (LEX LANG ALERT, LEX LANG ALERT!).

Also, Rei is a pimp, Mamiya is so going to be on his cock soon.

Rei is a crazy paedophile peeping tom.

BUT HE HAS SUCH GRACEFUL TECHNIQUE!

Yeah, sometimes it's like a comic book slideshow. It's probably the only anime like that that I will watch. I normally have no tolerance for that kind of thing. But I can't help but love the characters. It starts to suck after the Shishio arc is over, though.

I agree, they leveled out all the characters in a humor-kick ass balaence in a way.

Plus Soujiro is just plain awesome.

It starts to suck after the Shishio arc is over, though.

In other words episodes 64+, the fillers. Sucks the series ends on a filler episode.

Ugh, well the Samurai X OVA's were still cool at least.

The ones during the revolution were epic but the ones about how kenshin and karou die in the end were sad.

It's not the best of animes, but it was tolerable.

Unfortunately, I don't watch shows just because they're tolerable, without any indication that it's going to get better.

And since those sorts of series tend to get worse as they go along...

2. Yu Yu Hakusho

I'm sorry, but no one explained that it is in order from the top favorite anime and so on, so I did a random but I was a good anime though, I guess these days, no one likes this because it was old, and one of them I think is you. Actaully, not my second favorite.

4. Death Note

Yup, good anime, hope it'll be back on televison or just watch it on youtube.

What are you talking about? If anything, old = good. A lot of great stuff was made in the 70's and 80's.

Also, no, I'm not really into Yu Yu Hakusho. I don't hate it, though.
