Go with one that matches your interest (old or new alike) and stick with it for a while until you find another to hop onto to.
Once you feel like you want to move onto something which catches your attention, just grasp onto it.

Get around that for three or fours years and you'll find yourself looking up producer biographies and making references to other shows thus broadening your knowledge base of this 'culture'.

I like the lucky Star intro (never saw the anime, just like the intro)

Antway when played slow it sounds kinda evil, like satan was singing it.
0:38-0:50 is neat.

Animation is quality as always though. I've favored Porco Rosso as his best. I just love how that movie plays out. Good characters, good story and a pig that flies. A PIG THAT FLIES COME ON NOW HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

I liked Spirited Away the most.

It has one of the best English dubs I've ever seen.

Then it would probably be...

Princess Mononoke
My Neighbour Totoro
Laputa Castle in the Sky
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Porco Rosso
Kiki's Delivery Service
--
Castle of Cagliostro
Howl's Moving Castle

Though a few of those are around equal in how much I enjoyed them.

Did they not include the scene with white Reflection playing in the background?

No, that's there, it's the fucking end credits.

They just trim some of the fat in the flashbacks and leave out the hostage rescue scene.

Fucking nice, which other ones will be included?

Ranma 1/2 and the other series has yet to be decided (but may be Black Lagoon).

Also, Hellsing and Black Lagoon, since they manage to pull off a wide variety of accents with minimum stereotyping (with the exception of the Colombian drug dealers in BL and Sturmbahnfuhrer Montana Max, although his voice is supposed to be exaggerated for comedic effect).

Spirited Away

I heard they are re-doing the Nausicaa manga. I don't know for sure since I've only read it by rumor.

That reminds me, I should really get around to finishing that manga series.

Although I think haruhi, Fist of the northern star and berserk deserved a spot somewhere in this countdown and that black lagoon should have been ranked higher than 17!

All in all I do not agree with this persons taste at all even if he does have black lagoon, cowboy bebob and lupin III in there.....

As far as I can tell the Nausicaa manga had a decent enough translation.

I learn it through school.

And I've been learning it for a few years.

I'm far less proficient than I feel I should be (despite being in the top 2 in my class).

I might not be as big a mech fan as haro freak but my truck is named Double X after the Gundam in After War: Gundam X. The next car I'm getting is red and will have the license plate of either 'REDCOMET' or 'SIEGZEON'.

Pfft, I'm getting straight 100's in Japanese.

Then again, that's somewhat incomparable.

Considering the only marks I can get are Not Achieved, Achieved, Merit and Excellence.

I took French a few years ago, and quit it after a year; it was boring.
